This week’s episode features an engaged couple, Josh and Rebecca, who have been together for more than two years. They have an 18-month old daughter together, and another one on the way.

But Josh has a bit of a problem. He doesn’t think Rebecca is “wife material”, which is kind of problematic seeing as he proposed to her and knocked her up — twice.
The couple appeared on Tuesday’s episode of Dr Phil to work through their issues, but things didn’t really go to plan.

The first alarm bells go off when Rebecca says, “Josh makes me feel bad about myself because I don’t do things his way. He requires me to check in with him before leaving. I feel like a prisoner in my own home.” Awful, right?


The second alarm bell sounds a big old ring-a-ding-ding when Josh responds: “I don’t set the boundaries, I suggest the boundaries.” But wait. It gets worse.
Josh then goes on to explain his fiancee’s appeal and gives Rebecca possibly the worse backhanded compliment ever.

“I love Rebecca. She’s a beautiful woman. I love her size — her height, she’s perfectly proportioned. She’s a strong gal. She can pick up two bags of potatoes instead of one,” Josh said.

“I wanted Rebecca to have my babies because she’s a very healthy gal. I wanted my daughter to look and be built by Rebecca. Physically, Rebecca is the perfect woman. Mentally, she is not. Once Rebecca learns to be a better wife and mother, I think the sky’s the limit.”

Josh wants Rebecca to attend “wife lessons” and to start thinking like him.
“He always makes me feel like I’m doing the wrong thing. He yells at me when I want to do things for myself. Josh makes me feel bad about myself because I don’t do things his way. Josh thinks I should have a cooking schedule, he tells me how to clean,” Rebecca said, while also calling her fiance a “controlling narcissist”.

Josh says he prefers traditional relationship roles, with him as the breadwinner and Rebecca as the housekeeper.
“The house has got to be clean. It’s got to be deep cleaned and it’s got to be cleaned by you,” he said.
“I am the breadwinner. When I get home from work, I would love a meal. She’s got ample time to organise a feeding schedule for a family. She doesn’t even make a grocery list. She thinks I’m controlling because I tell her she has to do her job. She has to pick up. She has to do her share. Maybe her ‘me time’ should be out grocery shopping.”

Dr Phil tries to plough through this mess and get Josh to demonstrate an ounce of self reflection and compassion, but he gets nowhere.

By the end of the episode, Josh is asking Rebecca for a separation. And thank goodness really. Rebecca, girl, I’ve got three words for you: Get out now.

The Catholic Church pretty much already has this in Poland. Before getting married, couples are often required to attend sessions with a priest. They're not marketed as "wife lessons", obviously, but given the outlook of the Polish Catholic Church, it's effectively the same.

We don't know him personally and its a case of he has high expectations and she is a slacker. We have discussed it here before and he correctly points out; "what do you do while I am out? being a mother in a domestic setting is not hard".

Cue the "its the hardest job in the wuurrrllld" moans from women everywhere.

Guy could clean up attractive women and there are plenty around who will do what he wants, until perhaps he is liable for divorce payments. Just one of many couples who are unable to live together.

Both parties need to bring something to the relationship. Your wife needs to make food for you and clean, but in exchange, it's your job to ensure that she'll always have her basic needs satisfied and that her life is complete. It is proven that women prefer raising kids rather than pursuing an office career. There are gender roles, and they're here for a reason.

This is what gets me about women...

They expect the world from a man, but it's apparently "too much to ask" for him to expect a clean house and dinner waiting for him when he gets home, or really much of anything in return. Sadly, the only thing the majority of women bring to the table in relationships is having two tits, a hole and a heartbeat.

If the only value a woman provides is in the bedroom, a man can find a piece of ass anywhere. The more value she provides outside the bedroom, the less expendable she becomes. If women want to keep a boyfriend/husband around without him cheating or eventually trading them in for a newer model, they need to learn how to make themselves indispensable to their men (e.g. cook for him, clean for him, be a good mother to his children, etc.).

Modern women have discovered ways in which to make themselves indispensable, but not in positive ways. Instead of providing benefit to a man in the aforementioned areas, they simply dupe a poor bastard into marriage, have a few of his children for the purpose of financial leverage, then legally extort him in a court of law.

These morning shows are designed for the female demographic that love to feel outraged and love drama.

The guy wanted to give his girl some drama himself, women love stuff like this, she could take him to court and get child support right way but she has not, women love the idea of having to prove themselves to a worthy man.
