Finishing the stream now, le Pen had a strong closing statement, expressing her strong commitment to positive change without coming across as an extremist, delivered a radical platform with a softer touch, just what the docteur ordered... Will have a referendum on the EU, shut down immigration and slap 35% tariffs on cheap labor imports (sounds familiar?).

Macron looked shifty as fuck, more platitudes worthy of middle school elections. A lot of hot air throughout, but he did look shiftier than usual on his closing statement. He'll have to iron this out with his mom-wife tomorrow.

Melenchon dropped a bunch of truth bombs and was worthy of a few double takes, some surprisingly lucid statements about Crimea and NATO for example. He's worked some pretty good stuff into an overall crappy platform.

Hamon rambled on about universal basic income and being tough on Russia, Macron talked of Russian hacking.

Fillon did OK overall, nothing remarkable but he did look presidential in a center-right way. Talked tough about ISIS, including deporting les mauvais hombres and stripping the nationality of those taking up arms for the bad guys. I didn't like the fact that he was pro carbon tax.

I should say though, while Le Pen is my favoured candidate, she's far from ideal, as Brandon Martinez points out in this article:

Perhaps though, financial incentives aside, this is what she needs to do to give herself the best chance, by appealing to the pro-Israel and pro-Russia set.

Chirac and Giscard were pretty tall, 1.89 both. De Gaulle of course was in a category of his own, 1.96m. Hollande is not only short, he's very flabby too, hence his nickname of Flamby (little flan). He's listed at 1.74 (5'7") but is more like 1.70. Sarko was the shortest at 1.65 (5'5").
