Unfortunately thats how some people see it.

Ive learned something very interesting being abroad.

White people and black people in the US are more alike than they think. They are both American are closer in attitude and mentality than dating someone from abroad..

When a white American is with a white German they "destroy" more of their heritage than dating a born American. The only thing extremely similar is that they are both white.

The kid that would come out of that union would firstly speaking German and learn English later and follow mostly German traditions and have German mentalities ingrained into them.

I can see the resemblance.

Father and daughter are both petty assholes, but I'd say dad is more petty.

Giving your daughter the boot for dating a black dude seems a tad harsh. I'd be pretty pissed at my dad if he decided to disown my sister for having a white boyfriend. Funny enough, my sister is dating a white dude and my dad didn't really like it but he didn't disown her. He got over it quick when he realized he was the only one who cared.

I think disowning your children over petty shit is more destructive than race mixing.

In a way surely, but not being able to have a major say in who will date your daughter is relatively new thing brought by feminism. Doesn't matter if daddy did not like his skin colour or whatever, his daughter is his property for the most part. I think she's attractive. Not particularly my type, but definitely attractive.

Also, good luck to the two of them. I appreciate that people here think she's an attention whore etc., and while I do agree, she's young and just a product of the environment she's grown up in, where every little thing is a hashtag with a go fund me etc.

And just to add, I've never really understood why so many white men get upset over this stuff. I'm white, but I've always had the mentality that if it's not my dick going in her then what difference does it make what colour it is. There's more than enough women of every race to go around - white men can fuck, black men can fuck, we can all fuck. It's win-win.

He plays soccer at Clemson, and is dating an 18 year old girl who seems to be into the sciences and has perfect grades at a private school. He's not one of the Chicago kidnappers.

Not having the education she was expecting taken away is a mountain to her. It is to a lot of 18 year olds, male or female. You can say "well that is the real world" and normally I'd agree. Unfortunately daddy's business was opened in 1909, and not by him.

To have the education taken away because of something so petty as her daddy's racism makes the mountain a little bigger.

Of course I don't think the actions of the girl and the father are comparable. I think she out did him bigly. There's a lot of black people in Memphis, and some of them buy sporting goods. The hit the business takes will probably be more than he would have spent on her tuition.

When you own a business, you have to remember that every decision in your life affects everything else. You gotta think big picture and this guy didn't.

Shell probably be a doctor some day, and they will probably reconcile. I hope she remembers this when they are picking nursing homes.

I don't know if the father is racist or not. But simply having a preference for your daughter or son to date within their race isn't racism. It's not like the father said he hates black people or thinks they are inferior.

I've met plenty of girls who were non-white who said that their parents wanted them to date within their race. Just the other day an Egyptian girl told me her parents would be upset if she didn't date an Egyptian guy who was also Orthodox Christian. I am neither of those, and it didn't bother me at all. Of course her parents want any potential kids to share similar culture, but more than that, they probably would prefer their grand-kids to look related to them. Now whether or not parents disown their children for this type of thing is another story. Personally I think that's a bit harsh. I would encourage my kids to stick within their own race and culture, but ultimately, it's their own choice. I wouldn't treat someone they brought home of a different race like shit - but I also wouldn't see a problem of being upfront that I would have preferred someone else.

People get really strange about this sort of thing for some reason. It's mostly stupid white people with white guilt who see a problem with this type of view. In the Toronto area, there are so many ethnicities that have clustered around specific suburbs. Are these brown and Asian people racist for wanting to stick with their own? Of course not. That includes who they are dating. It seems like it's just dumb white people have a problem with this sort of thing.

He's paying her way. If he decides his funding is dependent on who she dates, what she wears, what music she listens to, or whatever else he decides that's his decision.

The stripper angle was started way before this. Just 18 years ago, she was the bundle of joy - daddy's little girl. Then, somewhere around puberty like a lot of dads, he wasn't paying attention when the stalk began to grow in the wrong direction. Next thing you know it's "I hate you , daddy!!" No well adjusted girl throws her entire family under the bus (and potentially risks their/her financial well being) so capriciously.

The black boyfriend is therefore less likely to be a genuine love interest and probably yet another manifestation of her already out of control nature, not just a one time thing to which dad overreacted.
