Why do the most educated and intelligent people tend to drink more than others? Doctors, attorneys, air traffic controllers, writers, and engineers? Maybe understanding how fucked up the world is is enough of a catalyst to send the most intelligent of society to the pub every night.

Let's look at it from the other extreme... Did you ever see retards drinking at your bar? Why are retards seemingly happy without being drunk while the brightest are more content with a beer in their hands?

Sure, a girl with a drink may be out of her fucking mind. But she's likely smarter, more educated, and far more interesting than a girl who doesn't drink.

I have no doubt that alcohol and creativity are also linked. Many if, not most great writers have enjoyed imbibing. No denial of that.

My point is that some people genuinely don't know what their limits are. That's when the screw up their lives with DUI, alcoholism that leads to job loss or health problems. We know that alcohol is estrogenic, not good (in excess) for men.

Now, having said all that, I'd love to sit down with you in person and enjoy a hoppy IPA, a sturdy stout, a single-malt or a hearty red wine while discussing the pros and cons of alcohol consumption. I'd argue it would make for excellent discussion.

In fact, despite being someone who believes in God, I find Christopher Hitchens to be one of the very few interesting atheist intellectuals. Nobody would claim he was a sober man.

I'd like to think there's a balance to be had between getting shit-faced (and getting into destructive behaviors like DUI, neglect of family or friends) and drinking so as to be an interesting person (drinking enough to be creative and social).

I've seen people along all ends of the spectrum when it comes to alcohol, having served people who can handle it, and some who can't. Booze is like a gun. Not intrinsically dangerous unless you a predisposition or desire to use it for evil ends.

I own guns for the same reason I enjoy drinking, that is, to enjoy a pastime with friends and family, not to mention both make life more interesting. That being said, as a bartender I had to cut people off that would get violent after too much drink. Some individuals just walk down a path of self-destructiveness with booze that others do not. Hard to say until you've tested your metal. I wouldn't trust an unstable person to handle my firearms any more than I'd continue to pour booze for someone who clearly doesn't know the difference between enjoying the warm buzz of whiskey from that of a person who sees red every time he or she downs a shot. That is the only real tragedy about alcohol in my opinion. Nobody really knows if it is destructive to the individual until after they are often too far gone to easily come back. I say this as someone who had some functional and less-than-functional alcoholics in my extended family and friend circles. Not a pleasant sight. If one is a slave to the bottle, the life is not a happy one more often than not, and one that correlates the OP's question on avoiding crazy women. While some of these crazy girls have wild stories to tell and for sure can be interesting people, that's not what he was asking for. Many girls are interesting without excessive amounts of alcohol to the point of drunkenness. Some alcohol makes men and women more interesting. Too much makes them slaves.

To your larger point of drinking to forget the world's problems due how crazy the world can be, I'm going to have to disagree. I don't drink to forget, I drink to relax and unwind. I don't think drink is a viable reason to disengage from the world. Rather I rather raise a toast to changing that which I don't find acceptable in our current society.

Can the guys saying 'all are crazy' be specific as to what they mean by crazy? This sounds a lot like the AWALT crowd who claim there is something fundamentally sick or immoral in women generally. If the attributes you are complaining about applies to 100% of humanity, the problem isn't humanity, it's you for not accepting fundamental human behaviour as normal instead of pathological.

No, all women aren't crazy. They are just crazy when you apply male standards of logic and reason. We all know that women are more emotional than men, but that doesn't mean they are all looney. I think men saying "all women are crazy" say it mostly as a joke to write off female moodiness around a certain time of the month, when a woman is pregnant or other times of extreme emotional swings.

Chemically, women have much higher highs and lows at any given time than a man does. That makes men appear stable in comparison. That doesn't mean women are crazy, just more volatile. I don't think a woman's emotionalism is craziness, rather just another task on how to handle yourself as a man. For a woman that is just emotional but not mentally ill, a little bit of comfort plus amused mastery goes a long way to calm her down.

Sadly only applicable in hindsight, so not really within the remit of this thread, but you will look back to a point early on, and realise that for a second the mask dropped, and what you saw was her true self; at the time you didn't realise the significance, which can just be a look thrown your way, but you certainly realise it's importance now.

I have a personal test for "craziness": if I suspect a woman of having issues (more issues than women in general, that is ), I will just say something that, based on what I know about her, should upset her a bit. Then I will watch the reaction. If she gets upset a lot, crazy. If her emotional response is a flat line, no feedback at all, 99% crazy. The first reaction they usually try to hide and it's funny to observe, because all of them do the exact same things: body stiffens up, face goes pale, breathing quick & shallow, stammering, looking away. The second reaction - 99 times out of a 100 - psycho, the one time I reserve for an occasional intelligent girl who sees through my game and calls my bluff.

Tattoos or piercings aren't a reliable indicator of craziness anymore since a large number of women now have them. But it's safe to say the larger and more visible the tattoos are it's usually a good indicator of a certain breed of nuttiness.

To echo some of the other points mentioned here, excessive drinking is a bad sign. Some other things to look out for are negativity, constant framing of herself as a victim with no agency, basket cases for friends, untidiness.

2) Complains of being forced sexually or raped. I've investigated those talking with them and only some true "stranger rapes" are not her fault to some degree.

I've talked to girls who claimed they were raped, and technically/legally it was true but they trusted guts who were really shady, and her poor judgement is going to continue with not valuing you, and picking some toxic guy to leave you for.

About the guy defending alcohol, when someone sounds like they are defending their girlfriend, I think of rivers in Egypt.

Quoted for truth. It's important to remember to hold females to female standards and males to male standards. I'm not saying make excuses for them but just accept their nature. Women are emotional, impulsive, and logically deficient; and while I appreciate women that have restraint and can seperate themselves from their emotions and try to use logic these are mostly masculine traits. Complaining that a woman is a woman will get you nowhere.

I think the same can be applied to women who own an aggressive dog breed (rottweiler or pit-bull for example), or women who are into martial arts/combat sports.

Your comment about dogs has revived dormant memories. Both of the women that come to mind for me in connection with this thread had previously owned Alsatians; hardly in the same category as a Dogo Argentino, but not what you typically see women with. In both cases the dog was mentioned early on, talked of fondly, and both carried photos that they showed me, despite the dogs having been dead for a while.

Any pet (apart from a single goldfish or similar bullshit) takes a lot of time & commitment from the owner. A horse is particularly demanding animal and usually people's whole lifestyles are built around them. I say that if you yourself are not an owner/caretaker of a similar/same pet and share an equal level of enthusiasm, do not get seriously involved. If you get really serious together, you want her spending time on your kids, not some animal (and I love animals, although it does not sound like it - just not enough to serve them in life).

They're most definitely still a reliable indicator of craziness, girls are just outing themselves easier now, man. In a way, we can be glad they're being upfront about it, before you'd actually have to invest time and interact with them to find out.

It may not be the drinking that led to their success, the correlation could be backwards, that is, they're professionally successful despite excessive drinking, which often leads to failure on the personal front.

That's not something to understand, that's a point of view, and if you hold it, then getting drunk is the last thing that will make the world a better place. I've heard this line of reasoning as well from people that smoke dope every day. Smoking that joint doesn't make the world a better place either, and it could have made the world worse if the purchase funded cartel operations.
