This is why my suggestion to make the board better would be to make it a warning-level (at minimum) offense for posting stuff that you don't research enough to see that it's an obvious fake. The twitter account that was shut down had JUST been discussed in THIS very thread as a fake twitter account for Rudy Guliani.

This is how the mainstream gets traction on us with the fake news thing, when our own members can't be bothered to do basic research before presenting something for comment/discussion.

It's a shame.

I was thinking about this more and came to the conclusion that in many cases people are on their phone or aren't able to research the veracity of an image, some text, etc...

In those cases, posters should make it clear that they are posting questionable/unverified source material.

As always, a critical eye to any new/surprising information especially should be the norm. Otherwise this being an echo chamber is too likely.

To an extent yes, but notice how they give PizzaGate no coverage.
