Just now getting to this thread and it has some serious potential.

Just wanted to address one thing here, the bolded part about self deprecating humor. For the sake of argument and game discussion I want to bring up a situation that I feel specifically calls for self deprecating humor.

If you're properly gaming her or maybe even over-gaming her, it's likely you'll get the classic shit-test, "How many girls are you like this with?" etc, that kind of bullshit. "How many girls have you used that line on? How many girls do you take to this bar? How many girls this, How many girls that?"

My first response is always agree and amplify. But a lot of times this gets their hamster spinning so fast it short circuits her attraction script to you.

So I backtrack hard in the other direction. "I'm just kidding. Girls don't like me. I'm ugly and I smell bad." Said with a smirk of course. And much more effective if you're decent looking and dressed well. It's over the top self deprecating humor but I've found this approach completely defuses even the most hardcore shit-testing hamster.

On one hand you can lie, and say you've been with a million girls. Classic "Agree & Amplify." At the other end of the spectrum, you can lie, and say "I'm a virgin," or something like Veloce said about being ugly.

In between, you can tell the truth. Honesty is good for the soul.

Last weekend I was at a club talking to a girl one on one. It was only a few minutes into the approach, and we hadn't exchanged names yet. Here's how the conversation went:

RB: "yada yada. I'm redbeard."
Shakes hand
HB: "I'm Kristina."
RB: "ohhhhh gosh."
HB: "whaaat???"
RB: "how do you spell it? K or a C."
HB: "K"
RB: "fuuckk"
At this point I threw my hands up, like this Seinfeld gif, and took a few steps, pretending to walk away.



I walk back and give her a serious look of reconsideration.

RB: "that's bad news."
HB: "you do this a lot, don't you?"
RB: "do what?"
HB: "go to clubs and flirt with random girls."
RB: "I'm 23 years old. I went to a major party school and went out multiple times a week for four years. What do you think?"

We changed topics and I fucked her that night.

So here's what I want to get at. Lately I've been trying to better answer "What is Game? What is my game?" In order to answer, I've been comparing picking up chicks to basketball. Basketball mastery is made up of various traits:

Free throw, mid-range, long-range shooting
Dribbling
Defending
Transitioning
Stamina/Endurance
Rebounding
Blocking
Dunking

You can have all of those skills in the world, but does that mean you have game? NO. Game is knowing when to drive to the rim, when to pull up from 15 ft out, and when to pass the ball.

Same deal with pickup. Game is not what to say, but when to say it. Guys want to debate "direct vs. indirect approach???" Well, both are a tool, and good game is knowing when to use each.

I don't want to derail this thread, but it's something I've been thinking about a lot.

Good no-cost-investment dates are simply going for a walk somewhere scenic in your town. You can go to antique shops and look at shit and spark up tons of conversation that way. I've done this with plenty of girls and it's great. Also if you can get them to come to your place and just chill, listening to music, have a few drinks, watch a movie, etc.
