I think it shows the total contempt that the elites have for their audience and for the male gender in general. I mean, why couldn't they call the new character "Cousin of Iron Man" or "Daughter of Iron Man." That at least might be understandable. No. They put it out like, "This is the new Iron Man. And it's not even a man. Man = whoever we say is a 'man.' Get with the program or else."

They're alienating men from this society in droves.

Exactly. I'm alienated and have been so for a while. And it's not a bad thing. I'm not being forced to watch or pay attention to this shit, and so I don't. In fact if it wasn't for this thread I would never even know about it.

This kind of crap doesn't phase me anymore. Trannies, homos, feminism, I don't spend any time thinking about it. There is a handful of important facets to life that I pay attention to and get frustrated when TPTB mess with them, and they are as follows:

My constitutional rights
The economy, ie my ability to make money
Taxes
Physical safety
Immigration, because it affects all the above.

Aside from that? Society can go fuck itself. There is an odd movie or TV show here or there that I will partake of if I so choose, and the rest I ignore. I'm no longer concerned about society being turned into a cesspit: now my energy is devoted entirely to making sure I don't get pulled into said cesspit.

Somewhere there is a half African American/half Puerto Rican kid that would love to write Morales. (Heck, there’s a half African American/half Puerto Rican guy writing this story. They’re not hard to find, especially in New York)

As others have suggested, they'll keep going until they stop making money. And when they do, they'll turn to the government for subsidies, thereby getting the money from taxpayers anyway.

Brian Michael Bendis, the writer of this comic, is an unapologetic SJW - he's the same guy who retconned Iceman into being gay all along.

But he pisses off Marvel fans less because of his soapboxing (they're used to it) and more because of:

A) His utterly insipid dialogue; and
B) His notorious inability to remember anything about Marvel comics. He forgets characters exist. He disregards changes to characters' powers and talents. I think one of his more infamous gaffes was some Marvel series where he has a character called by three different names over the course of a single comic.

The second flaw is particularly egregious to a community that's as obsessed with a fictional continuity as you can get. Nothing so infuriates the comic book fandom as a comic writer who just can't get his facts on "the canon" straight. It's a mortal sin. And the devil of it is, Bendis keeps doing it with the gusto of the most subversive forum troll.

So why this preamble?

Bendis recently (as in just this past month) killed off War Machine, Iron Man's buddy - and a man of color -and is actually using that as an impetus for why Iron Man is looking for a successor. So Bendis makes up this spunky 15-year-old tech genius who's built a near-invincible suit of superhero armor in her college dorm, appearing out of nowhere.

In classic Bendis fashion, he can't even be bothered to remember he gave War Machine a daughter who is already being trained by Iron Man:

I used to read comics as a kid and most of the crap put out now is unreadable. I've tried a few times in the past to revisit this for nostalgia reasons but comic writing now really blows.

The comics "industry" burned itself down in the 90's through overprinting bullshit gimmicks and churning out endless heaps of trash. This was done to market to mainstream speculators who thought comics were like the stock market.

Now that all the decent intellectual property is optioned by studios or produced into movies already they are fresh out of new ideas. The really creative guys (like Alan Moore or Grant Morrison) usually write stuff that's too hard to turn into movies to begin with.

The reason why they are going full SJW is that there's nothing to lose now. They aren't afraid to alienate readers because the only comic readers left are mostly stunted man children and SJWs. They can endlessly reboot this shit and this demographic will still buy whatever is put out.

Comic titles used to get 1 million+ print runs and had massive readership. Now if a title has a print run over 200k it's considered wildly successful. The medium has been dying for some time now. This is like taking the lame horse out behind the barn and putting a bullet inbetween its eyes.

Honestly fantasy stuff like comic books, D&D, RPGs, etc. are essentially lost to the culture at this point. Frankly there's no conspiracy at work to steal fantasy escapism from fat white male nerds either. What happened is that fat white male nerds created this stuff, but to their misfortune fantasy escapism is just the sort of subculture that appeals to the blue-haired pervert brigade. While a 14 year old white kid wants to roleplay a Paladin to pretend he's a guy with pectoral muscles instead of adolescent gynecomastia, Rainbow from tumblr also wants to roleplay and has no tolerance for the vestigial masculine fantasies that existed in the genre. So the nerds either have to remake themselves into appeasing eunuchs like Sensitive Joss Whedon, or abandon the subculture in favor of more productive hobbies like hen teasing or scrimshaw.

Ultimately this isn't a bad thing. Think about how many millennial males burned away their youths with World of Warcraft. I say let this crap go to the wierdos, and they can segregate themselves from the general population in the future with virtual realities that let them indulge their fantasy of being a unicorn with an inside-out pee pee.
