That's a fair list for now.

I agree on glasses. I own about 20 pairs, various shapes and shades.

Just don't do the fecking lasik:

I've considered it, but have never gotten around to doing it...thanks for the heads up, much appreciated, man.

Cold Steel throwing stars, can make em stick just about anywhere and since they're fairly small and light you can take them camping or hiking for added fun. And there's virtually no learning curve, unlike say throwing knives which take a lot of time getting good at.

Dude I love Cold Steel products!

Their tomahawks are also a blast to throw around, and Id like to get the Special Forces Shovel for camping trips (and also to throw around). Their demo videos are also a hoot.

^ sick!

I'm looking at something like this now for a jacket:
https://www.jcrew.com/de/mens_category/o.../E2946.jsp

i was also thinking a solid pea coat but the above would be longer and probably warmer. if anything with the above i can wear a liner underneath and have my tailor sew in buttons to make it one piece.

Not sure if that would be warm enough where I'm at. Just dont want to be in the typical north face puffy jacket or canada goose like every other person around where i live.

also thinking about getting chelsea boots for the snow.

Something to contribute. The Mountain Hardware Skyledge 2DP tent. I just came back from an overnight car camping trip with some friends and a girl i'm seeing. While I was getting blow this morning, I was thinking to myself that this tent is roomy enough that i thought if i brought a second girl that i would have slept with both comfortably inside of it. it kept the bugs out and dry all night despite a storm. easy to take up and set down, light AF and bombproof. Recommended for the avid adventurer.

I never understood why somebody goes to nature and then sleep in a tent. You lock yourself in it, it has nothing to do with nature. I prefer sleeping just under the stars or if the weather is bad, I construct a shelter.

I prefer sleeping under a tarp, but the warmth and privacy of a tent is appreciated on blisteringly cold nights. Plus how would you construct a shelter in the types of environment above if a storm rolled in?

I did the whole bivy bag under a thunderstorm thing while in the military. now i'm just looking to relax and enjoy myself. most girls, even the outdoorsy ones, are not down if there isn't a roof under their head and something to separate them from the bugs. also privacy is another thing to think about when taking girls along.

the great thing about the tent i posted above is that under a nice night, you can easily take the canopy off so that you get a mesh tent with a floor. all the stars will be visible through the mesh and the bugs out.

as you can see here:

if you wanna get all the nature in you then a goretex bivy bag is what i recommend for rough weather. they're light, durable and will keep you dry.

Notable that almost everything is a functional and very little "status" pieces across the board.

Could you go into the highlighted above? I want to update my wardrobe and am looking for ideas. Where I'm at it gets to around negative 20 to 50 degrees Celsius so balancing looking good while keeping warm is essential

I'll chime in with one piece of advice here. Get a Peacoat. Black, dark blue, or dark grey. Goes with many different types of pants, looks sharp, keeps you warm.

I've gone out with just a shirt under my coat in negative weather and been perfectly fine.

I have two such coats.

I am young, so I still enjoy it. There were nights I didn´t sleep much, in heavy storm, in strong freeze or on the mountain dug in snow... but these are good experiences. I have new goratex bivy bag, but havent tried it yet. This weekend I am gonna take my girlfriend to sleep in nature without tent for the first time - I am curious if she will like it or not.

RE: Material Possessions That Bring Happiness
There is a difference between enjoying things and happiness. Enjoyment is fleeting. Happiness can last if from the inside.

Many things that can be bought with money can give a moment or moments of enjoyment. But, over time you take them for granted. Studies on happiness have found that you get a 3 month shift on average, either up or down, when events/purchases happen that impact your mood. Then you settle back to normal. If your pay is doubled, you are top of the world for 3 months. Then right back to normal. Same if it is cut in half. This is true as long as your basic needs are met: shelter, food, water.

There was one study testing to see what made people happier 5 years after they bought it. They could only find one thing: boob jobs for women. Seriously.

Most of the studies on happiness that seem reliable point back to Buddhist and Stoic philosophy. It has to come from within and you are happier focusing on what you have than don't have. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy that private bath or private plane but at the end of the day you be a rich, unhappy person: see Cobain, Kurt.

I found this in my own life. I was making huge amounts of money. Luxury car. Luxury home in exclusive neighborhood. Good looking wife. And wasn't that happy. Got into meditation. Simplified my life. Use money for freedom and travel and much happier.

BOB XL has brought so much Joy and Happiness to my life.
Have been working Muay Thai strikes on him about 15 to 30 minutes a day, 7 days a week.

My flexibility, endurance, striking power, striking accuracy all improved and lower back pain is gone because of him.

Finally I have found a workout partner that is willing to train with me at 4:30am.

He is not much of a conversationalist though, which is exactly how I like my training partners.

Highly recommended 10/10 material possession that brings joy & happiness to my life.

Old books that are relevant to understand the world we live in today, that were mainstream or landmarks at the time of their inception, and that have been evilized or marginalized by the current elite.

Think books by Lothrop Stoddard, books of sociology or economy about the Jews, or even books about esoterical Christianity.

(07-03-2016 09:25 PM)Travesty Wrote:  This may seem strange to some. Placing your bed in the corner of your bedroom flush against the 2 walls.

1) It opens up the bedroom a lot! You can easily stretch, shadowbox, do push ups, have more room for foreplay with women. Make them dance and march around as you lay in bed. It opens up room for a desk, art, items that you can look at and make you happy, storage etc as well. Placing a bed in the center with two nightstands and lamps around it is such a waste and looks like a hotel room. Place a long well made mirror with an artistic frame or just a great art piece or two on the wall that the longway of the bed is against. Mirror for sex (lots of girls love seeing themselves ride on top - much happiness). Art for self.

2) I swear there is a primitive notion inside that if you sleep in the corner of your room (your cave) you sleep better and feel more safe because an intruder cannot come from two different sides. You have view of the entire room. It has been big for me. Also a woman sleeping on the inside half of you nearer the wall gets a shot of that primitive feeling of contentment being snugged in.

I've just moved my bed into the corner as described here and can confirm that it really opens up the room and makes you sleep better. Still have to get any mirrors or artwork though.
