We know sports is a fantastic medium to game girls in, but I'm a few years out of that loop, and I'm specifically asking about martial arts as it's a sport system that I last did in childhood.

My MMA gym has at least a couple of cuties in most classes in the HB7+ range. I've been sparring with a few of them, but only within class; and in the brief snippets of conversation there and then, (not that it should mean anything) they've seemed pretty receptive.

It should seem pretty straightforward - game them further after class and arrange a time for drinks later. However, even though we do socialise, the genders seem pretty segregated after class. I should add that it's still early days for me.

The catch is, they're slightly more more advanced than me — the girls in the beginner classes aren't as remarkable looking for some reason — which isn't exactly a huge DHV on my part.

N.B. Obviously, the gender ratio there is hugely tipped in favour of men. There isn't a whole lot of thirstiness on their part though, as they're more switched on to the sport itself.

How many of you guys have tried approaching in this context? Is it something you aim to close soon after getting to know each other, or stretch it out like social circle game?

I reccomend tani otoshi, easy transition into kesa gatame. Then, when your head is down near hers, stare into her eyes, say "buy me a drink after class or I'll put a choke on".

Seriously, I don't recommend any kind of cold approach. At my dojo, there's a few couples who train together, but they all met MUCH younger, in college. I would spend a lot of time scoping out girls, finding out what their situation is, etc. I just found out that the cutest girl in the dojo who I thought was single is actually in a serious relationship. Girls don't wear jewelry when they train so you won't get the easy clues like a wedding ring. Also, it's not like a gym where people come in do own thing and leave. Relationships at the dojo are much closer, and you stand a really good chance of being asked to leave the dojo. This is about long game.

There's one yellow belt at the dojo who has a terrible rep for hitting on girls either in the dojo or relatives of members. It's so bad that when we go out in social situations, the black belts have stepped in and cockblocked him intentionally. He'd probably have hit on my teenage daughter by now if he didn't already know I was her dad.

I wouldn't do it at all. I've done martial arts most of my life, and that is a man's domain. It is all about the contest... What you will find, is that the more dominant, and proficient you get at the sport, the more attention you will receive from the women.

As a simple rule: Gaming women in this context means getting better at the martial art itself. Not chasing them. If you want to game them wait for the social setting.

For a bang or a non-committal LTR? Madness.

There's a one in a million chance of finding a Spartan wife candidate in a dojo, and even then you'd have to be the toughest guy in there or you'd only be trumped by a bigger dog.

Subsequent to dominating her you'd have to stud her quickly and keep the kids coming until the fight was out of her.

A good way to breed Alpha males, sure, but a lot of hassle.

I don't know how it looks like there in your gym but the typical thing to do in this type of scenario is to find an excuse to be around girls and then once you have a chance you talk/flirt in the meantime of your work. Even a question or a comment like "damn you hit hard you drank a lot of milk as a kid" count.

As usual the best way to hook their attention is to talk about their favorite topic. Themselves. Basically.. you do xyz, you don't do xyz, you seem to like xyz, you never do xyz, are you always do xyz? why are you so xyz?

After a while you will recognize that you happen to talk to some specific girls. What you will do about it is up to you. Not my business.

PS. It doesn't matter how advanced you are or they are. Everybody goes there to get better, some started earlier and that's it.

Appreciated everyone's input.

Looks like the "Don't shit where you eat" option has prevailed.

I've observed LTRs occuring in sports clubs I've been involved in, less often casual bangs, but it seems martial arts shouldn't be anywhere near the top of the list.

My work here is never done



Game level required - Intermediate plus experience

Skills needed
- indirect game
- social circle game
- secret society game
- Tao of Steve, modified
- amog defense and offense
- post bang role and rule setting
- intense frame control
- using pawns and third parties for social proof
- understanding competition anxiety as well as desire
- frame stealing
- the long game

Scenario
- lots of paper alphas, orbiters, and competition
- player cannot win the straight ahead competition with other guys based on typical externals, so basically real life
- targets are distracted/focused on a goal
- delicate social fabric
- player must also remove his mind from hers and not think for the targets

The only novel part of this problem is the MMA issue. Otherwise it's typical social circle game.

Stuck at the gym, you're low status based on the standards of that environment.

Get everyone out of the gym and into a place where you have power.

You win over the guys by being their wingman, and demonstrating the charismatic arts. They follow you.

Successfully interacting with hot girls in front of your targets but not giving the targets the same attention and validation is classic indirect game.

Sex is what is really important. Showing that you can have random chicks eating out of your hand is far more attractive than having better fighting technique.

After showing excellence out of the gym, your real status rises as does your status within the dojo.

After that, it's a matter of being discrete. Talk to everyone so that the guys don't catch wind of you making moves.

When you're the life of the party, these chicks will make themselves available.

But she has an image to protect. Undoubtedly she's banging a few guys on the low, or has in the past. If you can demonstrate basic secret society stuff, you can bang.

This is different than the work situation or the regular gym situation. The key to "hobby groups" is understanding the dynamics.

A key to game philosophy, there is always a way.

Not all martial arts are created equal. MMA gyms that operate with integrity and effective training do a lot to ameliorate many of the problems associated with McDojos and other Asian LARP groups. Some of the worst attitudes I've even encountered in women have been students of these fantasy indulging strip mall karate and tae kwon do clubs. Some of these dojos are legit to so it can be tough to tell. Red flags include testing fees, obviously out of shape high ranking students and teachers, anything even remotely suggesting ninjas, child black belts and 'mystery cult' style organization where you are taught secret advanced techniques as your progress. There is no such thing as an advanced technique, only and advanced technician.

This stuff can also be a giant magnet for white knights, WIA is correct (as usual) about the Secret Society game. Some of these frustrated little fuckers will try to get you tossed even if they don't like the girl, they just can't stand to see someone do well.

As an aside, the internet has done a ton of work exposing some of the worst martial arts fakers out there. Some of these guys operated near cult like organizations with little to no formal training or provable credentials for decades. The late '90s and early 2000s were not a kind era to be a phony black belt. The rise of MMA at the same time, with its brutal ability to discard phony practitioners, may well be the final nail in the coffin for these hucksters.

A few years ago i moved to a new muay thai academy, i was already at a proficient level so everyone accepted me right away. I quickly found out that the teacher was a huge white knight so everyone was a bit hesitant when it came to talking to the girls training with us and such. There was this 18 year old girl who everyone thought was the prettiest girl in the academy. Me, another dude and her were the only ones in a certain time schedule and i saw her checking me out a few times while i was shirtless or with a tank top. She even tried to take care of me one time i almost got my nose broken in sparring.
Anyway one time after practice it was pretty obvious she was waiting for me as i had to walk in the same direction as her, i decided to stick around and talk about the ufc with the teacher instead. I never saw her again after that (i had so many i never saw her again that i'm starting to think it's me that's causing them), and i stopped going to that academy a few weeks later.
Later i heard the teacher started dating one of the fatter girls in there.
There's no moral to the story i just wanted to get it of my chest since i'm still pissed about it.

I done lot of my game shadowing in aikido. Due to its nature there's a shit ton of cute hot girls in my university dojo. After a while it turns out everyone was sleeping with everyone, and one 50 years old master has been monopolizing the younger 20s girls for a while. A lot of drama ensue in which I'm partially involved, but in the end all is well.

One thing is for certain though, you wont improve your fighting skills in a dojo with even 25% women.

One thing I've learned about martial art girls is that, just like a social dance guys, they do it because they want to be surrounded by males, so cockteasing will be off the charts. I've found that these girls are often the most maniac and insecure girls in the world. Mostly they wont fuck you but mine you for attention and validation. Its basically social circle game on another level.

Some can be pretty feminine. I dated 2 judo girls, one a brown belt and the other a national champion finalist. Both are very cute, elegant and feminine with long flowing hair (????) But I never gamed them in training itself.

Dont do it. Too much distraction on a hobby that requires discipline.

There is an abundance of women EVERYWHERE. I presume that by joining a martial arts gym, you're looking to pick up a skill and improve yourself. Why jeopardize your main mission by indulging in cardinal pleasures that can be had elsewhere?

At least they were girls. I studied Judo for many years and one of the younger black belts had a fan club of sad women pining after him. I learned years later that he had been fucking or attempting to fuck most of the 16 to 20 year old men. He also entered into a lavender marriage with a lesbian from his church, where he is a deacon. The strange relationship between evangelical Christianity and traditional Asian martial arts could have entire books written on it.

Judo is a much different animal then a lot of martial arts. In fact, it isn't really a proper martial art at all; its a rules set for competing in Jujutsu, originally codified in the post Meiji Japanese university system, as every university in the country used slightly different rules for their Jujutsu matches. The history of this is well documented, the Wikipedia article is a good place to start if you are interested.

The point is that serious Judo players have much more in common with serious wrestlers and boxers than other "traditional" martial arts practitioners. There are of course exceptions like Muay Thai, Silat, Sanda and other competitive contact martial arts. You are much less likely to encounter attitude issues or white knights in these settings. Getting your ass kicked on the regular has an way of tempering the ego.

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that this topic could have an entire thread. It actually has an entire forum, bullshido.net. They spearheaded many of the investigations against the worst frauds and cultists in the MA world and have done immeasurable good for quality control in the field. The posting can get kind of terrible there at times and there are a bunch of bullshit liars, its still the internet after all. They have a Classics and Mega Thread subforum where most of the old investigations are archived. In many instances the fraudsters or their students come into the threads to defend themselves, usually to hilarious results. Occasionally one of them successfully defends his reputation and the forum accepts them, which can be amazing as well.

They've also teamed up with the folks at Stolen Valor in the past. There is huge overlap between martial arts frauds and military service frauds, as the military claims are often used as marketing for the martial arts.

I strongly beg to differ. Im a national TKD champ. Been breaking jaws, ribs and a ton of noses in competitions. Transitioned to MMA, and have several knock outs against people who come from other disciplines. Never heard this bullshit about throwing competitors out for making contact. High level competition is all about knocking out your opponent.
