I'm 28 and finishing my final semester at a university from my small midwest home town (~50k pop.) which is basically a pretty boring place. My long-ass procrastination for finally finishing school is due to a combination of things:

• took 1 year off after HS while working a regular job
• played poker professionally for a few years while traveling the world (SE Asia and S. America) and having the time of my life
• after poker dried up, returned to school and joined an exchange program in Argentina that reciprocates credits w/my home university
  

No regrets, it's been a blast. But I have one semester of credits that needs to be taken on-campus, so I'm back in this boring town - luckily only for another couple months before I'm back to greener pastures. There's a girl I'm working on a group project with who's very obviously into me, asks me if I'm going to be around during the summer while giving me the "come-get-me" eye, etc.

The problem is that over time, I've lost touch with my old local friends who've either moved away, started families, etc. So the issue of social proof is really awkward, especially for a town this size and considering it's where I'm from. Gaming her so far is no problem, but I'm trying to figure how to play this so that "Why don't you have any friends?" doesn't become a weird cock-blocking subtext to the situation.

I would just ask her to grab a drink at some bar (there's nothing else to do here) but I'm not sure if she's old enough to legally drink lol. And idk what the plan B would be if she's not. She's an exchange student herself from Nigeria if that matters.

That's high value as fuck. Way more than being seen with any guy in your small boring town.

I don't think this is a real problem so don't let it affect you. Get out of your head and don't cockblock yourself. Most bangs probably occur before the girl meets the guy's friends anyway.
