It really has nothing to do with you. Guys are guys, and they're just testing to see if they can get laid. Years ago when I was a bouncer I would have guys flirt with me very casually. It was so low key and subtle that it didn't register until much later, or someone would point it out to me. I was completely oblivious to it. Once I had a guy in a club walk up shake my hand, grab me by the upper arm, wink and walk to the men's room. My friends all gave me a weird look and asked who was that? I responded that I thought he was a friend of one of you guys. Then one yelled "holy shit! You just got molested", and we all laughed. It happens.

Precisely! Anyone getting offended by it is missing out on a huge opportunity to befriend and leverage the connection to hook up with chicks.

This is 10x more true if you're the "exotic foreigner" and local gays are hitting on you.

Being friends with a classy gay guy in a foreign country yields huge returns and signals all sorts of good things about you: open minded, socially smooth, not "snobbish expat", sexpat or trashy backpacker, etc.

One local gay friend is like a strategic partnership - he will continually bring female friends for you to bang. And he will encourage them to hook up with the 'hot foreign guy' and bring out their sluttiness. The fact that the gay guy wants your cock gives the girls license to want it also, free of judgement. He basically frames you as a no-downsides sex toy for the chick.

You can even deliberately engineer it. Cheers them in bars or even buy them a shot, be cool and friendly but mention you're new in town and tastefully mention you're straight early on. A good percentage of the time you get brought to a mixed group and intro'd to a single girl. It's a warm social circle intro and you're "in", avoiding all the usual barriers and stereotypes most lone wolf foreigners have to deal with.

Works best in countries where you have "exotic foreigner" value, but still gets you into social circles and enable you to meet cool chicks (and cool ppl in general) very rapidly in any liberal city.

Never thought of it that way, but this is so true. In thailand I knew a local gay guy (not a ladyboy, a normal gay guy). Everytime I met him in the club, he introduced me to the hottest and most high-so girls I ever spoke to in Thailand (models, actresses, daughters of CEOs...).

My game was too lame at that time to do anything about it, but this sounds like an easy strategy to infiltrate tough social circles.

^ yes exactly. It's such effective social proof, and also just great *positioning* - the gay guy does all the work of framing you as a no-strings sexual prospect or at least a cool desirable guy, and encouraging his single female friends.

There are a good number of girls in these circles who WOULD hook up with or date a high-quality western guy, the problem is there it's just such a hit to their reputation for them to accept approaches from random club dudes who are nearly always arrogant expat/vulgar backpacker, that they insta-reject. So a social-circle intro cuts through that like a hot knife through butter.

It's also cool because the right gay guy will keep introducing you to more and more of his single friends.... he wants as much status, "gaining face" and social proof as he can get with his myriad of female friends. Totally agree with RichieP. I've got a very professionally/socially successful gay friend and hes constantly surrounded with the hottest girls I've ever seen. I've fucked more hot girls by virtue of being mates with him than thanks to any of my normal wingmen who have good game. A gay friend can be a great aid to game.

If you live in a big city in the West I think its impossible to completely avoid being hit on by gay guys, if you look good. With random gay dudes hitting on you you just have to be very clear with them you're straight, and not interested. Aggressively clear if need be. And don't put yourself in a situation where you could be taken advantage of - don't be getting hammered in a gay bar or anything. Otherwise, just take it as a compliment to looking good.

Quoted for truth. For a while there, the hottest accessory for a Hot Girl was a Fashionable Gay. Probably makes them feel a little less suburban. When they do understand effort, they deeply-respect and champion it: this is Jack Donovan and Milo.

I doubt anyone else will see this coming, but if /pol/ gets their way, and everything goes full-1488, I suspect a good portion of the gay community will immediately get in line behind them, wanting to be led.

OP, being jacked attracts the attention of the later camp, but it kind of attracts the attention of everyone, straight or gay. Everyone seems to wants to feel big muscle. Accept your life is going to involve a lot of swolestation. I wouldn't overthink it. Laugh it off.

Yep. I get hit on all the time by gays it's getting old. There's some dudes that are undercover gays and will pretend to be cool with you only to bust some queer shit out of nowhere. It's way more common nowadays.

I would say it didn't bother me but at this point it does. I've tried befriending some for the girls but the last couple years gays don't hang out with girls as much for some reason. And on top of that you seem like a homo showing up with the flaming fag to the party. Not a good look.

This seems like a pretty good breakdown. I had to deal with the first group when I was in my early 20's and now it seems like I'm dealing with the latter group.

Not at all. Though there's not a huge population of them in my town, the ones I have seen tend to leave me alone most of the time.

There was some isolated incidents where I actually grabbed them cos they went too far. One pinched me on the ass one night, another come and grabbed me on the dick and I grabbed him by the throat and told him to never try that shit again. But it's not a common occurence for me.

I've had a bit of it.
Obviously it can be flustering, and society doesn't tell girls to 'view it as a compliment' when they get aggressively hit on by guy, but that is the best advice- a polite decline. Like a few of the other posters, I've also noticed that gay guys don't seem to be hanging around hot girls as much as they used to, so that removes an advantage of befriending them.

I've had a few more benign interactions in public places.

In theory, no problem. However, what I've experienced is a small pattern of being marked when I'm seen as impaired. I don't trust shady guys that hide their orientation.
