You don't own a cat, the cat owns you.

Cat attacks babysitter.

Bane Cat.

The best thing about this thread was that someone posted an episode of Rick and Morty. I've never seen it but have heard/read people talking about how great it is. I watched that episode and then watched the rest of the entire first and second season over the next couple days. Great stuff! Looking forward to Se3.

There is a video of the reunion between the owner and the dog. What I thought was fucked up was this part (bolded below). But they are back together again. I don't ever see cats show a lot of excitement when seeing their owners.

RE: Is it possible to project alpha if you love/own cats?
I used to hate cats. And I am still, unequivocally a dog person.

However, I live near a mountain and we get these crazy rats that seem to invade my garage no matter what we do.

I finally "hired" a cat, which I found for free on CL, to dispose of mice and any other pests and keep my garage safe. He is a male tabby, I feed him blue buffalo and he's a big fucker.

It was an ambivalent friendship at first. I liked harassing him and yanking on his tail randomly haha.

But, over time, he has become more than just my garage guardian. I'll list why I have changed to a fan of cats:

-So fucking aloof. There's a reason lonely chicks like cats. They remind them of the alpha cads that P/Ded them years before.
-Seriously you can learn a lot about body language just watching an active male cat move around. Fucker doesn't trounce around like my dog, he prowls. Slowly and deliberately.
-Dogs can at times be almost too docile and eager to please. "Paulie moved slow because Paulie didn't have to move for nobody"
-Evolutionarily badass. Cats really are, at their core, shrunken down little killing machines compared to their neutered, domesticated dog counterparts. If so much as a moth flies in his vicinity, you literally see his eyes narrow down into two deadly little slits of killer instinct
-More like a random roommate than a pet/companion. He comes and goes as he likes, he seems to have his own rhythm. Compared to my dog who is chomping at the bits to see me after a long day
-Pragmatic and independent. This makes them pretty damn low maintenance. I've seen this prick disappear for as long as 6 days at a time, and then show up randomly on my front porch at 2am while I'm having a cigarette
-Fucker has a revolving harem. I saw him mounting the shit out of this pretty little black cat around the corner from my back gate, he knows how things are done, and he doesn't need me to facilitate it for him

They're literally the apex predator on land and will kill you if given the opportunity, granted they're big enough.

Cats think differently to dogs and act differently. I've seen cats who are affectionate and dogs which are trained poorly and don;t respond to commands. Cats were brought about out of necessity to deal with vermin and dogs for protection from humans and other animals.

You wouldn't have a team of dogs on your ship keeping vermin at bay the same reason you don't keep cats to protect your property. Most likely the dog will get stuck or be too big to chase vermin. Cats wouldn't give a fuck and sleep unless its night time and the cat is a Tiger. The intruder would be food for sure.

One thing for certain is cats are the real killers here, not dogs. Put any dog pound for pound against a cat of equal weight and it will get shredded. Small domestic cats can be pissed if provoked so I'd like to see a 100lbs cat vs a 100lbs dog.

No one is debating about who is a better predator - we're talking about the practicality and usefulness as a pet.

Cats are less intelligent than dogs. They are not as skilled at problem solving, do not learn as easily, and do not retain knowledge as efficiently. This is just fact. Not trying to dog on them (lol).

A cats brain is wired differently, which is why they were brought in to hunt critters at food stores.

A cat isn't intelligent and cannot solve puzzles? Dude just watch cats hunt and stalk or climb over everything imaginable.

How many dogs have the intelligence to understand what something is or how to do a process until a human shows it? Even monkeys make dogs look dumb by comparison. However monkeys stay up in the trees when a cat comes along, I wonder why.

People tend to hate on cats because they approach it the same way they would another animal like a budgie, a dog or a rabbit. Those animals are dependent on humans, a cat is not.

All this was part of my point when I said owning cats has had a positive effect on my game. It's more of a meta level thing. Not "my cat taught me how to neg" or whatever Stalin was trying to insinuate.

NO.

Men are dog lovers, cats are for women.

Dogs are like men, playful, brave, loving, loyal and love having their balls licked.
Cats are like women, aloof, selfish, self interested and disloyal

I think the loyalty of a dog has been a bit mythologized over the centuries to be honest. No offense to any dog lovers or anything.

But almost any dog, no matter how loyal, can be bribed away with food or a nice enough treat in the right situations/settings.

In an ironic way, it's dogs that are more like women. With the right type of status/game/provisions presented to her, even the most loyal of women can jump off your lap and into someone else's. Especially if your discipline/game has been lacking lately.

Better keep our Caesar Milan on point fellas.

And for the same reasons, both are misunderstood and feared by the majority of men.

Of the few men I know who have cats, all are also completely at ease and natural with women, hold no resentment, and have a high success/bang rate.

Yeah, this is just something people just accept at face value as a trope, yet never feel the need to back it up.

Some other examples of such tropes include:

"You'll never understand women"

"Happy Wife Happy Life!"

Ect.

Yes, dogs get excited to see you. Does that make them loyal? How do you test a dog's loyalty anyway? I've known plenty of dog owners who have been bitten by their "best friends"

I've known alphas who owned cats. They didn't actively seek their company, it's just they took care of the animals when no one else would (family hand me down, etc.)

It's often a pragmatic decision though, as many apartment complexes don't allow dogs, or travel schedules won't.

Ramzan Kadyrov's cat is missing.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/25/world/...a-cat.html

When people disappear in the Russian republic of Chechnya — rights activists, journalists and government critics — there is usually no public discussion.

Certainly, no word about it appears on the bizarre if strangely compelling Instagram account of Ramzan A. Kadyrov, the local strongman who became a Kremlin darling by suppressing, with ruthless methods, the long-running Islamic insurgency in the northern Caucasus republic. Only the objects of Mr. Kadyrov’s affection attain that distinction: close associates, his gunmen, his workout routines.

And now his missing cat.

The cat is an expensive variety known as a Bengal or toyger, bred to look like a small tiger, real tigers being the kind of beast usually featured on the Instagram account.

A week ago, Mr. Kadyrov, dressed in trademark camouflage, posted a picture of himself hugging the toyger.

People take the question of this thread seriously? More importantly all these binary inquiries into non binary topics are silly.

RE: Is it possible to project alpha if you love/own cats?
The Bond villains often have a cat and they are reasonably alpha:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Maos82cqguo

I used to have one but had to give it up after moving countries. Yes, there is some commonality with feline and female in that a cat does not necessarily come running to you wagging its tail when you want its attention.

The act of owning, caring for and liking a cat is okay, but loving possibly is a step beyond what a young man trying to pick up girls should project. The cat should not be that central in your life. Definitely don't suppress the like of cats for women though.. As long as you're doing weights and approaching, and not dressing like a girl, cat ownership is not a negative. When you bring women back to your place and there is a cat in your room it's usually a positive thing. Sort of shows them that they are not necessarily going to get top priority in your life as they are a passing fling, but the cat is a long-term companion.
