I asked this question in the johnbozz thread for shits and giggles and some guy suggested I make a thread.

Can you be a player with a name like Godfrey, Leonard or Harold? Does a cool name like Quincy or Ryan give you some street cred before you open your mouth?

Shouldn't be important. Even girls I know with grandma sounding names do perfectly fine, because they're cute.

Harold --> Harry/Harris
Leonard --> Leo

if one really doesn't like a name, come up with a different given name.

Shit I think if anything the weirder and more offbeat your name, the better.

In my early college years there was this really cool laid back black dude in our group who's real name was Osama, and this wasn't too long after 9-11.

Dude killed it with women.

I used to think having the name Dick would be embarrassing. Now I think it would be awesome.

All those names you listed are actually pretty boss.

I'd rather be that than Kevin, Ryan, or Tyler. Or the worst ones Matt and Steve, probably the two worst names of all time.

Literally your name is like a doormat or a name that rhymes with heave and sleeve.

Quincy sounds like a gay ballet guy's name that wears oversized glasses. Also makes me think of a combination of squint and wince. Bottom drawer name.

I think of it in terms of the inverse. As in, a woman's name can be a turn on or a turn off.

Good: Sarah, Rachel, Angelica.

Bad: Bertha, Priscilla, Megan, Ashley

Males with the name Trey or Tristan tend to fucking kill it. I don't know why but it's a weird thing I've noticed.

Yeah Jennifer, Ashley, Jessica, Stacey, Dawn, Claudia, Mallory are pretty great names for girls. Shit, I got the whole Baby Sitters Club with me. Names like Tommie or Toni or Micah or Artemis are not gonna make the cut.

Standard guy names like Michael, John, Justin, Thomas...those are real nigga names. However, like someone said above Quincy may not be the best name for a guy unless he's 'gifted'.

I've got a pretty nice name that suits me well, probably adds like 2 pts to my SMV.

Everyone thinks my name is french, but it's a black american name. People often like to say it a lot. Not sure if it helped my game at all, but it is a talking point.

Actually after further consideration I think this is a pretty valid question albeit from a different perspective than I originally responded to...that of the "game player" versus that of the chicks' responding to names.

After thinking about the concept of guy's name to girls ass ratios I can see where IF there's a statistical correlation between guys' names and the amount of trim they harvest then it's more likely due to how their name affects the guy internally rather than how the name is received by the girl:

-Our inner dialogue determines EVERYTHING in our external
