With online game you want to have the first meetup at Coffee, WIA covered the whole scenario brilliantly, I learned some things ;-)

Make it quick, and then go for second date. In Oz, A quality chick is usually a 3 date Kate, so a short coffee meetup ticks off one date, ensures she is not a land whale and gets you a date closer to the poosey.

I have had a text "room 904" on the way to a coffee date, or been stood up... Its the excitement of the unknown and the thrill of the chase I love!

Coffee is not the optimal first date, I prefer walks as it's easier to be physical.

But going for a coffee is not a bad option for an instant date during the day.

Here's how my last instant date at a mall was initiated:

Me: I have 10 minutes, let's go for a coffee over there
I start walking to the direction of the coffeeshop 20 meters away.
Her: I don't drink coffee this late... but tea is fine

At the counter:

Me: What do you have usually?
Her: Tea
...
Me: 2 green teas

Note that I didn't make a big deal out of which beverage or which variety of tea she'd like.

There's some real gems in this thread especially from WIA.

I will try to not repeat what people have said but I'll highlight a few things. I'm a coffee date guy. The key is to lead, lead, lead. Also, since you're in Colombia, check the coffee guide I put together here.

As you appear to be in Colombia now: the thing with Colombian chicks is like 95% of them LOVE coffee. Pre-bang coffee dates were a big part of my repertoire there. And they have a lot of pride about Colombian coffee so it works in your favor. Coffee has a fairly big role in Colombian culture, even if most people drink the shitty tinto on the street. If you can introduce them to a place with solid ambiance and great coffee, it does actually get the panties a little wet.

1) The meet. What I like to do is start with coffee but be in a neighbhorhood where getting a beer or cocktail directly afterwards is within a quick walk. Have her either a) meet at your place and then walk there together or have her call/text you when she arrives at X location like metro stop and go together. If she is late, day game other chicks.

2) You pay. Like WIA mentioned, ask her what kind of coffee she likes then order something for her and have her grab a table. Don't be a cheap bastard here - coffee is cheap, always buy. When you get to the table, move the chair either next to her or at least within touching/kissing range. If she picks a table where you can't get close to her, suggest another table with a better setup. Try a bar if possible where you can sit right next to her.

3) Escalate. Physically escalating in a coffee shop takes a little bit of balls, but what's great about it is that it is so un-conventional that it takes a lot of girls by pleasant surprise, shock even. I like to touch the arm and hands, and go in for a hand massage if she is feeling compliant. The great thing with Colombian girls (as you know) is that they are very receptive to touching right off the bat. Go for the kiss at the first location. If you get denied, smile, shrug it off, and try again on the first date. If things go well, I like to either go back to my place from here, or go get a beer/drink someplace nearby.

I had multiple bangs in Colombia following the coffee date model and it worked well for me. Find something that works for you and stick with it.
