Since when does minimum wage equate to middle class???? I think you'd be better off looking at what various people are receiving as a pension to gauge what middle class is. Military/police/teachers. I think it would be in the 3 million per month range and significantly higher for higher ranks.

Another interesting piece of data is that 71% of the population of Colombia has under $10,000 of assests.....the number of wealthy here are truly in the top 1% or less....yet hold 40% of the wealth.....

But importantly to note, what exactly do these incomes mean? There are so many possible one, it could be average net after tax income per person, or gross, or it can be average net or gross wage, or gross or net family/household income. So which one is it?

Is there currently an RVF crew in Bogota? Medellin? I'm trying to pick my next destination and it always helps if there's a support network to help you hit the ground running. I've never been to Latin America and I'm kind of hesitant to make the jump without knowing no one on the ground. I'm planning at least a year in Colombia.

I'm going to Mexico this summer again and I definitely got some inspiration, my plan is now similar, to rent a motorbike and fuck around the country a bit. It was fun reading all of that, not many people our age can do those things in life. Looking forward to hear more on Peru.

I think one of the things that screws Colombians is that the benefits are very expensive to hire someone, also there is some weird law that you have to give your employees 1 month salary once a year. I would like to see the breakdown by city. I know Bogota is obviously the most expensive with the highest wages but I still remember meeting a venezuelan girl who made about 500,000 pesos a month. Maid positions which is obviously unskilled labor I have seen making anywhere from 800,000 to 1,100,000 a month.

Has anybody lived in Cali for an extended period of time also spent time in Santo Domingo or Santiago DR? I just got back from 9 months in Colombia, 3 in Medellin 6 in Cali and I am trying to plan my next move. I love Cali, but it can get boring after a while. I've read all the DR posts on the forum but want to see if someone can offer some insight on how the two compare to Colombia, for a long term living solution. If anyone wants to know about overstaying your visa in Colombia I can detail my experiences here. Thanks

Yeah looking back its pretty hilarious that I had these grandiose plans of traversing an unknown continent on a vehicle i had no idea how to drive. It was pretty easy to learn, but pretty much the day after i bought the thing i had to ride out to palomino two hours away... then riohacha... then back to santa marta... then to Bucaramanga... all within the span of the week, which is about a total riding distance of 20 hours all with zero riding experience. Its great it worked out, I put myself in a corner of needing to learn on the fly, and was able to continue with my adventure

Popayan is a nice city. Most of the prior cities i stayed in in colombia were chaotic. noisy, ridiculous traffic, you guys who have been to colombia all know how it is...

However popayan is a good sized city that just felt so much calmer. Its a somewhat religious city, having a few cathedrals in the town center. The time I went, they had their ¨fiesta de reyes¨ or three kings day January 5th. they throw powder and shit at each other in the center and there is a parade as well. There wasnt much for night life, however if you base yourself near the central plaza you will have plenty of day game opportunities. If you prefer to daygame, this is a great city. But if nightgame is your shit, not too sure you would enjoy it too much. Its pretty close to cali, so if your in that area I would reccomend you visit this place and see if you like the vibe

as far as the motorcycle goes, if I were you, I would look into buying a motorcycle in texas, traveling through mexico and selling it back in the usa. Obviously depends on how long you are planning to travel, if its for a couple of weeks, its more practical to rent (can get pricey!). But if its for a month or two then I would buy and sell a motorcycle, as you would get almost all the money you spent on it back.

Now, for those who complain about how unlivable the city is, have you heard about or tried Chía? It's a suburban district/town on the north where all the elites have been escaping to. Lots of malls, bars, universities and high-class colombian girls who are living there. I remember an irish-colombian girl in my university days who used to live there along with some cuties whom I had no chances with because I was too shy and lived like 30KM away from there. Man they were hot as fuck.

Lately, I dated an asian-looking Llanera who lived there and it looks like the ratios are good as she was overly kind and nice to me, compared to the regular bogotanas who usually have me to jump through a few more hoops than usual. So just finished 5 days in Cali, first time here. My quick thoughts, its like a slightly crappier medellin. not as quite as pretty , both the city and the girls. But girls are a little easier then medellin, I pulled every day I was here. there is a slight smell of burning garbage everywhere in the air. Still way better then most south american cities girl wise

Hey Prince Charming can you tell us about how you met the girls and what you did for each one? Hoping it wasn't tinder or online lol.

Cali kinda sucks for a short trip and if you go for just a few days or a week, you probably won’t like it. If you stay for a month or more and get into some social circles then it starts to get a lot better, it's my favourite city in Colombia but it definitely isn’t for everyone.

She was a 21 y/o university student. She wasn't affectionate like sweet, but she was nice and would usually look for me. If by affectionate you mean 'tierna' (that's the word we use in here for girls who like to cuddle and you know girl stuff) she wasn't much but I didn't get to meet her to much as things didn't go further because I had abundance and now I regret somehow not keeping her around. Asshole game is great for pulling but it backfires easily I guess.

Interesting. Yes, tierna or cariñosa were the words I was looking for. I've been hanging out with a Llanera lately but she is really different than other Colombianas I usually go out with. I talked to another friend who dated a Llanera and he said the same thing. She admitted she is fria too. Strange that I'd never heard that about Llaneras before until now.

Just did two days in Tamesis antioquia. pretty little mountain town 4h bus ride from medellin (20k for the ticket). Took a girl from medellin but there were lots of cute girls for such a little pueblo. not much to do and the hotels are all very basic. we climbed the mountain and crawled throught some caves (this was the #1 activity there) ONLY for fit people. over all not much reason to come here over going to guatape

first two were from the batch of 600+ numbers I got from colombian cupid 2 years ago. Overall I just like the Caleño culture more than others in Colombia, they’re warmer than Rolos and less concerned about status and wealth than Paisas. I’m into salsa, I can listen to it all day and enjoy dancing it, taking classes and going to events. It seems that each guy experiences the bigger cities differently, Cali just jives best with me whereas other guys prefer Bogota or especially Medellin, which is without a doubt the nicest and most livable city in Colombia.

6 months in Cali? Impressive. I was bored (outside of gaming) after the 2nd day. Maybe it's not my cup of tea, but for me Medellin and Bogota are far better in terms of gaming, food, and quality of living.

Cali is fucking hot, unless you're really into salsa and or negritas it shouldn't be on the short list.

Always a good idea to like a place the other gringos and expats don't. I'm overdue to check out Cali

This may sound obvious to many, but I would add "being conversational in Spanish" to that list. Compared to bigger metropolitan areas like Medellin and Bogota, the chances of meeting a girl who can speak English in Cali are quite low. My game there was definitely limited by my almost non-existent Spanish. Senoritas there are very approachable tho, so that half of the battle is already taken care of.
