BTW a Venezuelan girl who fled the country three years ago has opened a coffee shop and bakery about six blocks from my place here in the US. She is a total fucking knockout, even just wearing a cardigan sweatshirt and no makeup.

Having read the police report of the Belgian I think it's a bit unfair to suggest this was due to his poor decisions. I would say he was pretty unlucky.

1) The girl suggested they were going to stay in Laureles which I understand is a Estrato 5 barrio.

2) He has a colombian bank account and based on reading the report I'd assume he speaks good spanish for a foreigner. Everything was very clear and simple. It would seem reasonable to assume he lived in Colombia.

3) He handled the situation well.

Not to derail the thread but this is something I've been kinda concerned with my trip to Mexico this week. I've seen about 5 girls open a second (at the least) profile on SA within the past month, 4 of them in the past 2 weeks. SA is pretty lenient with banning girls from their platform so I could only imagine the reason they were banned in the first place. They usually take action against the man doing the reporting and blame it on him. Either way, the only reason it bugs me is because some of those girls are on my WhatsApp convos and I just think there might be something off so I block them. Also some SA profiles the girls are quite demanding...not entitled, but they want to rush too fast and want things done yesterday. You know...the shit a guy would try to pull or say.

What is unclear to me is that there seems to be multiple times in the story when the guy was able to escape but he did not. Like when they got around with uber or when he was walking around the town with his kidnappers.
It sounds like the people doing this seems to have been very amateurish as they did not have logistics sort out. lf you plan to kidnap someone you dont really want to spend time looking for a hotel? Why would you even stay in a public place.

And the part where it mentions that in the area there were multiple pandillas. Are they all dedicated to kidnappings? Or they are just doing normal business like selling drugs etc. and expanding into the kidnap a foreign thing?

Apparently the girls went back to get his credit cards at his place - there was no security guard in the edificio?

And most important - When he escaped and the receptionist called the police what happened then? Why he didnt hide in the hotel until police arrived and arrested the guy?
Also he woke up and was alone and in situation of power over one of the gang. If you have been kidnap for 3 days and abused why would you not smash the guy face when you have the opportunity? Like the guy was literally sleeping he could have smashed a chair in his face and left him for dead on the floor, that would everyone first instinct I think not running away when you know the guy has a gun and could chase you in the hallway.

All in all it seems to me this was a group of amateur and not people doing this often. Nevertheless the belgian guy was lucky to escape this relatively unharmed. He could have managed the situation better, apart from all the red flags about the girl he did not fight for his life which is the first thing to do when you are kidnapped. Weird how his survival instinct didnt kick in in 3 days.

I'd assume he was in barrios he was unfamiliar with while kidnapped and the guy(s) were probably armed at all times with something. If he was in a bad neighborhood and yelled ayudame or help people aren't necessarily going to intervene when theres a group of gangstery type people surrounding one foreigner.

We also have to remember at this point he has no money and they know where he lives. He probably is also aware that where guys usually get killed in a robbery is when they resist.

I understand the desire to hit the kidnapper while hes asleep sounds good but hes probably been in a deep state of fear for several days. Also he drills the guy in the face with a chair and potentially the guy screams. He doesn't know the location of the other assailants at that point in time.

Some things I found odd about the report.

One thing I did find slightly odd is that they gave Tucci. Pink Cocaine is typically more expensive in most places. I can't quite understand why they would make him do that. It would seem an odd way to relax someone. Also a rather expensive way to do it compared to other cheaper options.

Also, these guys were clearly amateur but given the larger amounts of money that they were able to withdraw I suspect the guy must have said something that made him a target to the girl / group. My bank certainly isn't going to let me transfer / withdraw $10,000 in Colombia without alarms going off like crazy.

Another thing I have trouble is why is he living in a Estrado 3 barrio (Tricentario) when hes got 10's of thousands of dollar in the bank. - I may be wrong on the strata but thats what my research tells me. Also why would these guys target some foreigner living in a poor area. You think they'd go after a guy who appeared to be a bigger fish.

The whole planning by the kidnappers seems poor but that's not shocking criminals of that nature are probably going to trend low iq and somewhat stupid.

They will get the kidnappers easily is my guess if the names they used were right. They obviously would've all known each other and someone in the barrio will recognize the names involved. The girl fucked herself by having a dating profile with her real picture and a whatsapp. I'm sure she talked to other guys and some other guy has her whatsapp and will provide that information. The fact her pictures already been in news outlets means shes done for and that will make finding the accomplices much easier given that the guy got some names and descriptions. These guys are probably stupid enough that they will find the one girls facebook account and he will be identify the others just by taking a look at her friends list.

I love how he described the one girl as a Puta. Doesn't even beat around the bush. Fake tits, puta.

The guy's facebook profile is still public and he's got pics with his arm around various chicas. He's definitely posted on this thread before.

lavidaloca pointed out something very important. "Tricentario." Not the safest place you can find.

Basically a rule of thumb in medellin. The more north you go on the metro line, the more cheaper it is and dangerous. Going south to la Estrella station actually can be quite pleasant if you stay on the other side away from itagui which can be sketchy.

Those doing the online thing, probably noticed a tonne of girls from Aranjuez, Bello and Itagui compared to girls from Poblado or Envigado and Laureles. Just be cautious heading out to the former more so than the latter as it can get sketchy and maybe you'll be around dodgy people compared to poblado etc.

Don't be a cheap skate and swallow your pride if she doesn't pay for the taxi or night out. The culture is like that. Paying for her to come to you and partying in your neck of the woods could save your life. Those criminals are quite stupid. They don't realize that tinder accounts etx can be traced. When they try to harm you it's already too late for some.

If you're a cheap skate, all I can say is good luck to you anywhere in the world. But if you want to be cautious, take the girl out in poblado hang out at the restaurants off of 10 towards the metro. Once you go towards Provenza, the prices rise. Or even better, buy some rum and coke in the store and make your own party in lleras in the bench or steps. Buy some empanadas and enjoy. If she likes you she will enjoy it.

Isn't it illegal to sell empanadas in public now? WTF is going on with the empanadas guys, or is that just in Bogota? I know Medellin has banned public drinking, I"m not sure how much it's enforced but I used to enjoy smoking dope and drinking beers in Parque Poblado on the weekends.
