RE: The Syria conflict thread
Neocons have been actively emptying out the near east of its Christian population, the world's oldest, including in Palestine, as Beirut noted above. They're setting up salafi death cults and chaos (and proxy states like Kurdistan) all around Israel so that it can totally dominate the area and take over its resources (see Genie Oil owners Rothschild and co). They want to break down previously stable secular nation-states in that area, which had always had a high degree of religious and cultural minorities that managed to live together, breaking them up into warring ethno-states.
Before the invasion of Iraq, the Christian population in the middle east was doing fairly well and living in peace in nearly every country, except in Israel, where communities in places like Bethlehem have been persecuted and harassed just as much as the muslim palestinians. The neocon coalition has been funding, training and supporting the jihadis in their fight against the multiconfessional national army in Syria.

RE: The Syria conflict thread
Remember the little boy from Aleppo ? Well here is an update on the situation you won't see on CNN (Actually very surprised Telegraph are reporting this)
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/06/...ering/amp/
Quote:New photographs have emerged of Omran Daqneesh, the little Syrian boy whose image was seen around the world as a symbol of the suffering of Aleppo.
Three-year-old Omran became a global icon last August after his home was bombed by Russian or Syrian regime forces in the final months of the siege of Aleppo.
In photographs published on social media on Monday he appears healthy and recovered and is sitting on his father’s knee.
Omran’s image was widely used to illustrate the brutality of the Assad regime as it tried to crush the opposition in Aleppo, Syria’s largest city.
But his family, like many others in rebel-held east Aleppo, are reported to have remained loyal to the regime throughout the siege.
They refused all media interviews and reportedly went into regime-held west Aleppo when they had a chance.
The family was interviewed this week by several pro-regime Syrian and Lebanese television channels. In a clip from one interview, Omran's father said rebel groups and the international media wanted to use his son to attack the Syrian regime.
"They wanted to trade in his blood and published his photos," he said. He said his shaved his son's head to try to disguise him and shield him from media attention.
It is possible the family felt forced to take part in the interview for their own safety.
Omran’s older brother Ali, aged ten, was killed in the same strike that injured Omran.
Kinana Allouche, a pro-regime journalist, posted photographs of herself interviewing Omran and his family. "The child Omran, those who tried to shed Syrian blood mislead the news that he was hit by the Syrian Arab Army," she wrote. "Here he now lives in the Syrian state with its army, its leader and its people."
Ms Allouche drew internet attention last year after she posted a smiling selfie of herself standing in front of dead rebels.
The siege of Aleppo ended in December last year, when a deal was reached to allow residents and fighters from east Aleppo to leave their homes and go into the countryside.

RE: The Syria conflict thread
Yes, this is part of a long pattern, we've seen it before when NATO bombed Syrian infantry for hours when they had ISIS pinned down in Deir Zor last year, just as they were about to liberate this city with an important Christian population from the POS jihadis.
Armenian Genocide Museum in Deir Zor - the city was a destination for thousands of refugees escaping from the Turkish massacres further north.
Kushner, McMaster, McCain, Cheney, Murdoch and co want to impose their balkanized chaos and freekin caliphate on the people of Syria, doing Israel's dirty work.

RE: The Syria conflict thread
The War Nerd, Gary Brecher is on the button to what is exactly going on.
Quote:Murky but bad. (Like a lot of news in this war--in most wars.) Tabqa is just south of Thawrah, below the dam. If you look at today's SyriaLive map (SyriaLive deserves huge credit for keeping this map fresh day after day), you see the SAA plane was shot down at a triangle where three forces collide: The SDF advancing from the north, the SAA & co. coming from the west, and IS, the dissolving stat whose turf the SDF and SAA are competing to take. But SDF is a very patient, clever geopolitical player, and SAA, though less disciplined, is generally cautious as well. There's something else here, a new aggressiveness by elements of the US command in central Syria towards SAA attempts to roll over their hopeless Sunni "moderate" militia fledglings. That's been happening non-stop in the SE, as we discussed with Elijah Magnier on RWN. If this extends to the Raqqa front, it's way scarier. And you can't really predict, because the US in Syria isn't a disciplined command. There's the huge CIA/Pentagon split, some kind of quiet revolt by mid-grade officers against their politicized generals, and God knows what inter-agency squabbles as well. (Not to mention the rapid collapse of the US in general.) In that context, it's not clear who gave the order.
If there was any logic in the decision it may have been the Americans' clear reluctance to kill off IS in Syria once and for all. As Elijah Magnier said on the show, the US always gives IS an escape route. The US, Saudi, Israel don't want a Syria totally free of IS. It's too useful. In Raqqa, the IS escape route is east toward Deir ez Zor. Since SDF and SAA are both taking ground east of Raqqa, along that route, the US may have decided to check the SAA, as the less-controllable force, and ensure that the SDF, which depends on US help, holds that IS escape route.

RE: The Syria conflict thread
Finally, Russia has understood that the US is no longer a trustworthy partner in Syria. It never was under the Obama regime, it's not under the Trump Administration. Russia gave Trump the benefit of doubt, however, POTUS is now pretty much kidnapped by the Deep State and his son in law. So, there is no need for more delusional hopes about any change in foreign policy under Trump. Sorry, guys.

His main base, maybe. But what about the rest of the country? I haven't seen any polls but my guess is a good number of Americans are ready and willing to support another war, whether it's Russia, Iran, or NK. 72 % were in favor of Iraq. Sure, now in hindsight we can say "oh but they were pressured by the MSM" but what's so different now? Once the MSM war machine gets rolling, the public will lap that shit up like a good little doggie.
Not sure if serious or the American people are that fucking stupid. Time will tell.
Yes lets attack a nuclear power when we can't even practice military manouvres in busy shipping lanes without losing 7 sailors to a fucking freighter on auto pilot going in a straight line using our so-called state of the art ship.
Lets attack a country which has a better military, strategic position and better prepared populace than any country we've fought since WWII.
Forgive me for putting my lead-lined hat on hoping there are enough people with sense who have the power to see beyond dick measuring.

(06-19-2017 05:59 PM)kosko Wrote: The Draft will never return as it costs 120K a year to taxpayers to maintain every service man in the US military. Plus, with half of American twinkie eating sloths, or soy infused latte lefties you would be putting out a craptastic amount of bodies that would get rolled over by more rugged and savaged men. That type of escalation noted between Russia and USA would call for the biggest expansion to "Private Security" and mercenaries who would hail from Brazil to Cambodia would all flock to make some quick cash. You could pay Mercs 50K versus 120K to conventional nationals to fight.
The only saving grace is that Russia, unlike the USA, does not talk shit or games. If Russia says something, they will do it, 100%. There is no duplicity or dodgy thing with the official statements Russia puts out. The USA will bluff, the USA won't engage on that level. If the USA does.... then Trump shows an even more adherence to the Deep State than even Obama who was skittish in not going that last step into the flames when pressured to do so.
During the height of the Iraq war (Operation Iraqi Freedom), the Army in particular went to great lengths to loosen standards for entry to being a soldier. Although it would be a disaster, if it came to it they could do the same and more so. However, to your point, it takes a very long time to mobilize people, even if there was a full up draft and there weren't so many fat people. This process takes months at least, and what would all these people actually do? By that point it may be all over anyway. I don't even think we could mobilize mercenaries on a mass scale with any hope of them being effective, since they would somehow have to sync into our command and control systems and chain of command with a different language and completely different ethos.
This is such a stupid game to play by the pentagon. We are already losing Afghanistan (Matiss' own words last week), and now decide to up the ante in Syria.
But clearly government and the public have more important things to focus on like the nude picture scandal in the Marine Corps.
