A lot of the old secret societies at Oxbridge and Ivy League were historically men-only . From going through Google, Skull and Bones may have since admitted women, but the notable Oxbridge ones are still very much men only. I'd have joined Bullingdon for its uniform.



But these clubs of course have altogether different raisons d'être than what you might have had in mind. Essentially, cloisters of the societal élite. Basically, if you're after protected men's only refuges, join the 1%.

A lot of this is a hallmark of both Commonwealth countries and the USA, but I know Germany (yes) and perhaps some of the Nordic countries still have old student societies that are not only strictly men-only, but disallowing of homosexuals.

Personally, I would love to see men-only gyms.

I'm tired of a place that I feel is a male institution and sanctuary being invaded by fat women and attention whores who only come into the gym to do squats and take pictures for Instagram.

Ultimately, if you want an experience without those type of people and dudes who come in groups of three+ to just chat the whole time, you'll have to find a family-run gym that costs real money, not gimmicky $10 a month, different levels of membership type gyms.
