Lightbulb Creation of Europe and Election subforums
Underneath the Everything Else forum you'll see a new category called Topics where there are dedicated subforums to serve European politics (mostly concerning the migrant crisis) and the 2016 US Election. You are now free to start new threads instead of keeping topics in existing mega-threads, especially if you have something significantly new to add to the discussion. Random thoughts, images, or links should go in the existing mega-threads.

It is clear to me that politics has become intertwined with the forum. By opening new subforums, I hope we can have better discussions that are not limited to just a handful of threads. Keep it mind that rules forbidding insulting fellow members and "race trolling" (steering all conversations towards race issues to provoke the membership) are still in effect. Keep your discussions civil and diplomatic. If someone crosses the line, hit the report button instead of retaliating.

Personally, I liked it the way it was. It gave a solid dose of intellectualism and news updates mixed in with the more frivolous, entertaining threads.
Fragmenting them just reduces the people who will see them.

This is a possibility, but for guys who are heavily interested in Europe or the election, the current format limits discussion. Important items got buried quickly.

In the past we had a Ukraine Crisis subforum. When discussion tapered down, it was deleted and the threads moved back to EE.

Also I recommend using the forum jump menu on the bottom right of the desktop version for faster access to the other subforums without having to go through the main page.

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
I agree with the Europe stuff getting its own subforum since its pretty diverse and there are lots of unique perspectives and experiences but I think the 2016 election should stay in everything else. Just my opinion.

I find the "View New Posts" at the top to be the most useful. You can then ctrl click each link you want to read and open them in multiple tabs.

How come it is listed as a "topic" and not a "subforum"? For people who just google this site, they may be pretty confused since there seems to be no normal way to click there like you can with other subforums.

^^ It's in a new category listing. It's a subforum of the category Topics.

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
I understand the intent but think we need to balance out not having too many overly specialized forums. For example, I like the randomness of the "everything" forum...I like seeing a thread about sports, then something else. I'd hate to have a sports topic, then further to a football sub-topic, etc. In this way, I think maybe the "politics" forum was unnecessary. Likewise, I think the "deep" forum is unnecessary...I like seeing an occasional deep post in the everything forum.

In this way, it resembles human dialogue. Sometimes, with our friends, we segue from talking about girls to sports to business to politics. We don't say "OK, in this room, we are only allowed to talk about politics, and with these friends, we are only allowed to talk about Europe".

That said, since Roosh thinks its a worthy idea, I'm going to keep an open mind and try to see the wisdom in it. Most things he does I end up seeing value in.

I concur. I would prefer to see the 2016 US Presidential stuff re-integrated into the Everything Else forum.

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
The new format has already seen a drop off in the quantity of posts in the two main topics in the new areas; the Trump thread and the migrant thread.

Whenever I look at the main screen, the users browsing the new fora are miniscule.

It feels a little like the two most interesting threads on RVF (to me) have been neutered.

Can links to this sub forum be added to the main page? I don't see a quick way to get to it on desktop other than the one you showed above, and don't see any way whatsoever to get there on the mobile version.

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
I've noticed the number of people going to these new topic forums is extremely low. I think these forums would get a lot more traffic in a different location.

I had a hard time finding them at first. I've always been in the habit of going to Main when I want to switch from the Game forum to one of the others, like Travel or Everything Else.

I really never noticed the Roosh V Forum page, because to me it was essentially the same thing as the Main page. So when the new topic forums were not shown on the Main page, it took me a while to find them. I wonder if the site traffic stats show the Roosh V Forum page is less used than the Main page or the individual forum pages.

I would have expected the topic forums to appear either on Main, or at the top of the Everything Else page, the way the Newbie forum appears at the top of the Game forum.

I found I had the same problem, I couldn't find them. I actually would've missed completely that these threads got moved to a subforum if not for this sticky post.

I also think this is going to neuter the traffic that these topics get. I'm willing to see if that's the case, but if that does prove to be the case it should get switched back to the way it was. I don't think there's enough interest for the other subforums but that remains to be seen.

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
I'm still relatively new here so I'm not sure if my opinion counts for much. That said here are my 2 cents: I don't see why one of the most popular/visited threads in this forum would need to be moved out of sight. Obviously Roosh may have reasons we're not privy of. For instance there is a certain racial sentiment present which may put off other participants. But everyone is free to participate and share his POV.

Personally I'm an expat living in Europe and I have been a daily reader and contributor to this thread. I am already seeing a lot less traffic since it has been moved. New readers will NOT find it as most of us bookmark or directly seek out the 'everything else' section of this forum.

FWIW - what is happening in Europe and in particular Germany and Sweden right now should be recognized as the canary in the coal mine of unbridled feminism. We are finally able to witness the detrimental and deep rooted effects that decades of liberal brainwashing can inflict on a society - we are seeing first hand the unintended consequences of emasculating two generations of European men. In my mind this thread is one of the most important in this forum as what happens in Northern Europe over the next few years will send shockwaves across an increasingly feminized world.

To relegate such an important topic to the sidelines does a disservice to the importance of this event. We are recording a veritable clash of civilizations and the one single benefit of the unfolding tragedies is that masculinity, honor, strength, and nationalism may experience a renaissance of sort. One may hope at least. Either that or we should all start studying the Quran.

So my vote would be to return it to the fold. But in the end it's Roosh's house - so he's got the final word.

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
^^that's what Im saying. Mainstream media is hiding the horrible realities of Europe, and this major forum allowed us to see the information.

It's really important men be aware of these things going on in the world. I didn't know much about the Europe situation, but thanks to it being in 'everything else' I learned a lot from it. Those threads were booming with activity and good posts, now it seems to have died off.

I'd say that merging the Index and the Main area would increase views for both Topics and ROK.

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
The Cologne attacks now are one month away, the whole refugee situation is not new any more, its the new reality. I'm also a contributer of the migrant crisis topic but the news get lower. Like every topic, at some time you reach the peak and people move on. Ok, no border controls, fake refugees still coming, small communities that struggle, social problems. All a shock at first but now? It is there every day and the new reality. People move on.
All we can do is prepare and wait for the right time. Its a slow process this whole situation, no big bangs. Maybe when there will be attacks at the carnival it will change something. The mood of the society change slow more and more against the invasion but there is nobody, nothing that could offer a solution where people could work with.

For us, these conflicts can be resolved by appeal to the deeply ingrained higher principle embodied in the law, that individuals have the right (within defined limits) to choose how to live. But this Western notion of individualism and tolerance is by no means a conception in all cultures. - Theodore Dalrymple

As a suggestion, we could put the forums as a subforum within "Everything Else", or part of the Main page/getting rid of that tab and making every forum available right when you load the site.

Keep in mind, we are getting these specialized forums because we are getting an overwhelming number of subjects related to politics. Everything Else forum generally works when you do not have a subject/topic that is appropriate for any other forum. But what happens when the everything else forum threads becomes heavily specialized politics forum? Such threads deserve their own subforum.

I like the election subforum. It keeps all the overtly political posting in one location. You know where to go or not go.

One issue I'm seeing is how EE is being clogged up with low value threads about feminism -- usually started by low-post, no rep newbies. They are often little more than a link dump to a post that must have caused a visceral emotional reaction in the OP.

Senior members can help solve this problem by starting more high value threads. Even if it's just a fun nugget of a news story, we create the forum we want. Keep the fires stoked. Set an example. And if you are new, for God's sake do a forum search on your topic FIRST before mashing the "New Thread" button.
