Subforums of EE is good. It really is best that those topics are compartmentalized, even though I myself side with the majority opinion in those topics.

That said, I only ever few threads via the "New Posts" link.

Also yes Taylor Swift is ultra hot.

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
I liked the Europe politics and Election stuff when it was in the main EE section since it made the EE section a one-stop shop for a variety of topics; some of which have connections to politics but are not directly political. Mattress Girl, UVA Rape bullshit, and the the recent post about naughtynomad and the libel/slander by a news agency are all examples of stuff that has political connections but aren't directly political.

To put it another way: the EE section functioned sort of as a daily current events overview (political and otherwise) of whatever was happening in the world and I liked having everything consolidated. I also think having the user base isolated to one section was better for discourse and exposure to opinions/topics. The election sub-forum and threads have lost some steam since the move.

I also don't think there is enough active topics of discussion to warrant two separate political sections. If there has to be a separate section, it should just be a general politics section; covering everything political related in the world. No point fracturing political junkies across two sub-forums; it's a niche group to begin with. I'm into US political matters and have a passing interest in Europe political matters for instance but I haven't even bother beyond one time looking at the Europe politics section. However, if I were to see a Europe related thread with an interesting topic headline in the EE section, I would click it and maybe even post. I think this sort of behavior partly accounts for why certain threads have lost steam in the political sub-sections; people who saw a political thread in the EE section might have came across a headline of interest and posted whereas now they don't bother exploring the political sub-forms since there isn't enough motivation to do for whatever reason.

Ideally as I alluded to before, I would like things to go back to what they were. If not, at least consolidate all politics stuff under a single section.

I think it's fine where it is now. Easy to find but still separated from the main loop, which I guess is what Roosh wanted. No complaints here (and I was bitching quite a bit before).

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
It's been another week and I think we have a definite improvement with the subforum strategy.

Another idea is to actually merge both the European Politics and Presidential Election into one "Politics and War" subforum. We did have a Politics subforum before, but there was too much bickering. This time around, conversations are way more civil.

I'd like to try it since it's kind of a pain to keep clicking around through both subforums. Since the guys participating in the Migrant thread also are involved in the Trump thread, it seems like a logical move.

Yes, combining those two would add both comfort and participation.

Sorry to be a pain but I hate it. It was perfect on top like we had it last week.

I preferred the previous setup which had US and European politics separated.

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
I agree with the previous two posters. The setup in which the US election and Europe subforums were separate was much preferable. Each had a distinct character and putting them together seems muddled; both suffer as a result. The US election and the event in Europe are both of intense interest, but they are not all that related to each other. If they are going to be subforums of EE (and given their growth that's probably inevitable) they should be separate subforums, at least until the US election is over.

same old shit, sixes and sevens Shaft...

It meshes pretty well to me. We'll try it out for 1 week.

"Politics and War"? How come? Why not just simply "Politics"?

So I don't have to make the change 6-12 months from now.

Love the change. I didn't think there were nearly enough threads in either before.

RE: Creation of Europe and Election subforums
I like the merge. Having two forums made each feel a bit ghettoized. The Europe forum in particular gave the impression that you could count the number of contributors on the fingers of two hands. The only issue now is, where exactly do you draw the line between posting a thread in EE or in the Politics subforum. For many threads that distinction will be quite obvious, but not so much for others, particularly for social issues.

If, as von Clausewitz said, war is "politics by other means" I suppose one could say that the title is slightly redundant.
