RE: Saudi Arabia Cuts Ties With Iran Amid Fallout From Cleric’s Execution
We all know who is the real one to blame. The USA and the West. Don't matter for the Arab world that they are full of violence, backward with stupid fights of groups for centuries. Never expect them to accept the reality of self responsibility. I talked to some muslims, they turn it around that still the USA and the west are to blame for it.
Anyway, the USA should use their fracking oil and Europe should also stay out. Let the idiots rage the drums of war. Maybe a total destruction will help their mind like it did after WW II in Europe.

For us, these conflicts can be resolved by appeal to the deeply ingrained higher principle embodied in the law, that individuals have the right (within defined limits) to choose how to live. But this Western notion of individualism and tolerance is by no means a conception in all cultures. - Theodore Dalrymple

Iran has 2.3 million soldiers, while Saudi has 250,000. They have more tanks, artillery and ships. Saudi Arabia definitely has the technological advantage and air superiority, but that'll only get you so far if your citizens don't have the stomach for war.

http://www.globalfirepower.com/countries...it=COMPARE

Possibly true, but irrelevant. There is no scenario where Iran would go head to head one on one with Saudi Arabia.

Even in an unrealistic hypothetical scenario where the US didn't intervene, Iran would still also have to face Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, and possibly others simultaneously. Even though it's true that the Arab armies are largely lazy and unskilled compared to the Iranians, they are still armed to the teeth with some of the most advanced and modern weaponry.

For the mean time, Iran will have to wage its wars by proxy.

Saudi Arabia only exists because of NATO (primarily USA)'s backing. If it weren't for that, it would have been crushed ages ago, either by an invasion from a pissed off neighbor or an internal rebellion against its tyrannical leaders.

Agreed.

If not for the constant meddling in their affairs by foreign powers during most of the 20th century, Iran could be a wealthy, secular first world country by now.

The Persians are the natural allies of the West in this region, as Islam never managed to completely subjugate their hearts and minds.
They are an ancient civilization, a people with a long history of scientific, philosophical, literary and cultural achievement, far superior to the primitive desert tribes that inhabit the Arabian peninsula, and they always knew it.
Most of those supposedly "Arab" or vaguely described as "Muslim" scholars, polymaths, poets and influential thinkers that apologists of Islam love to tout and ramble about when they speak of the "Golden Age" of Islam during the Middle Ages were in fact Persians, Indians or other conquered civilized people:

Who is considered the greatest of all Arab linguists, who published the first grammar of the Arab language?
A Persian.

Here is an exemplary anecdote of a Persian scholar arguing with an Arab one:
Quote:In Baghdad, the Abbasid vizier Yahya ibn Khalid held a debate on standard Arabic usage between Sibawayh, representing the Basra school, and al-Kisa'i al-Kufi, the leading figure in the rival school of Kufa.

The incident became known as al-Mas'ala al-Zunburīyah, "The Question of the Hornet," because one of the sentences involved translates as "I have always thought that the scorpion was more painful in stinging than the hornet, and sure enough it is." At issue was the form of the last word in the Arabic sentence. Sibawayh proposed:

... fa-'ida huwa hiya (فإذا هو هي), literally ... sure-enough he she

meaning "sure-enough he (the scorpion, masc.) is she (the most painful one, fem.)"; Arabic does not need or use any verb-form like is in such situations. On the other side al-Kisa'i argued for:

... fa-'ida huwa 'iyyaha(فإذا هو إياها), literally ... sure-enough he her

meaning "he is her".

Sibawayh justified his position on theoretical grammatical grounds, arguing that an accusative form cannot be a predicate, but to his dismay al-Kisa'i ushered in four Bedouin who were pretending to have just happened to be waiting at the door; al-Kisa'i had bribed them to support his answer prior to the debate.
All of them testified that huwa 'iyyaha was the way they always said it and therefore Sibawayh was wrong and he left the court.

Who was one of the great minds of human history, developed a scientific method, published a medicine book that set a new standard and was used as a textbook in the Islamic world and Europe until the 18th century, postulated that light is a particle with a finite speed, called bullshit on astrology, explained the geological process of the formation of mountains correctly, and so much more?
A Persian.

Who contributed massively to the development of mathematics, propagated the use of the Indian numeral system and the concept of the number 0, invented algebra to solve quadratic equations and whose name became immortalized as algorithm?
A Persian.

Who is considered to be the greatest physician of the Middle Ages and the Islamic world, and first distilled pure alcohol?
A Persian.

Who is considered the single most influential Muslim after the prophet Muhammad, defended, saved and integrated Sufism (perhaps the saving grace of Islam), who was the greatest theologian of the Islamic faith?
A Persian.

And many more.
By the way, yes, that's right, the Persians had to explain to the Arabs their own language and religion.

Today, many Persians and especially the youth have a secular, progressive and rather pro-Western mindset, and highly value education.
They are really not too different from the average European or American.
Yet those people were sanctioned, ignored and kept down, which actually made it easier and more convenient for the Iranian regime to stay in power, while the Western nations happily associated themselves with the tyrannical, terrorism funding, Islamism spreading Saudi-Arabia and its allies.

I doubt we will see open warfare between the two countries, but be sure that there will be a lot of bombings and sabotage in Saudi Arabia, even with their represive state in full force. They have a very pissed off shia minority and Iran have experience in that kind of warfare.

It will be interesting to see how Israel leverages this situation.

They have been unsuccessful, to date, in finding a satisfactory solution, for Israel, to Iran's nuclear programme.

The US has backed down on deposing Assad for now. It looks like the power dynamic is starting to shift in Russia's and Iran's favor.

China has also been cozying up to Iran for awhile now, so two major world powers are behind this change.

I really think it is time for Saudi Arabia to take a back seat in that region. They have been spreading radicalism and terrorism for awhile now. Also, the Saudi family treat their own people like sub-humans. Hopefully, these changes are marking the decline in their regime.

RE: Saudi Arabia Cuts Ties With Iran Amid Fallout From Cleric’s Execution
It looks like many of the other Sunni states are giving Iran the middle finger.

Saudi Arabia's allies Bahrain, Sudan and UAE act against Iran

Quote:A number of Saudi Arabia's allies have joined diplomatic action against Iran after the Saudi embassy in Tehran was attacked amid a row over the execution of a Shia Muslim cleric.

Bahrain and Sudan have both severed relations with Iran, and the UAE has downgraded its diplomatic team.

Saudi Arabia on Sunday severed ties and gave Iran's diplomats two days to go.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said trade links with Iran would be cut and air traffic links stopped.

But in an interview with Reuters news agency, Mr al-Jubeir also said Iranian pilgrims travelling to holy sites in Mecca and Medina would still be allowed to enter.

Saudi Arabia and Iran are respectively the key Sunni and Shia powers in the region and back opposing sides in Syria and Yemen.

On Monday, a White House spokesman called on both countries to "show some restraint and to not further inflame tensions that are on quite vivid display in the region".

RE: Saudi Arabia Cuts Ties With Iran Amid Fallout From Cleric’s Execution
What are the main reasons we(the US) are allies with Saudi Arabia, as opposed to Iran?

Oil? Iran hostage crisis?

My limited experience with Iranians and Arabs has been that Iranians are very cool, and Arabs are weird as fuck. They are also fat, slow, and take up the whole damn sidewalk when walking around in their man dresses.

EDIT: I did have one funny encounter with an Arab and his wife in Bangkok. They stopped me on a dark street where I was walking at, they must have been lost. The wife stops me and asks me where they can find some food. I asked what kind, and the husband, who was a pretty big dude, blurts out "Arab food!". I tell them where to go and then the husband shakes my hand, and damn near crushes my bones to powder. The dude was strong as fuck. Then they went on their way.

Thinking back, I'm kind of surprised an Arab couple would stop an obvious white Westerner and ask where to find Arab food at. The husband definitely seemed like the kind of guy you could eat with, drink a ton of booze, and then go shit on some hookers together. Should have gotten his Skype.

Apparently in Saudi Arabia the "crime section" of their newspaper is case after case of male on male rape. I also met a Jordanian which is majority Sunni in south beach and he was all about anal with little boys and said in Jordan it wasn't a big deal. Dude was so weird I'd classify him as handicapped but I think he was just a normal Jordanian. He was exactly like Borat

Given the timing of their contemptible actions it seems likely that the Saudis (in addition to their usual geopolitical scheming) want to undermine the fragile detente between Iran and the US by blatantly instigating a confrontation and forcing the US to choose oil over decency as it always does.

Shia Islam is far more tolerant towards other religions than most Sunni institutions are. Of all the problems that Islam is causing in the west, very few (if any) of them come from Shia sources.

I have an honest question but I'm worried it'd get me in shit here but here it goes. Do you think if Arabs were another religion on the large scale (I know there's Christian minorities and what not), that things would be different? For instance, if the socioeconomics were the same in the region but everyone was a different religion, would things be the same? I only ask b/c you're last paragraph got me thinking about this since the main Shia group is Persian, ethnically different than the Arabs.

I think it is too soon to tell. We will have to see how the decline of the Saudi family affects Muslim behavior.

One thing to look up would be Wahhabism: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wahhabism

Another article from Huffington Post, which breaks down some political events surrounding Wahhabism: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-yousaf-...01916.html

Here are a couple choice quotes from the article:

Quote:For instance, a Wikileaks cable clearly quotes then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton saying "donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide." She continues: "More needs to be done since Saudi Arabia remains a critical financial support base for al-Qaeda, the Taliban, LeT and other terrorist groups." And it's not just the Saudis: Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates are also implicated in the memo. Other cables released by Wikileaks outline how Saudi front companies are also used to fund terrorism abroad.

...

How does Saudi Arabia go about spreading extremism? The extremist agenda is not always clearly government-sanctioned, but in monarchies where the government money is spread around to various princes, there is little accountability for what the royal family does with their government funds. Much of the funding is via charitable organizations and is not military-related.

The money goes to constructing and operating mosques and madrassas that preach radical Wahhabism. The money also goes to training imams; media outreach and publishing; distribution of Wahhabi textbooks, and endowments to universities and cultural centers. A cable released by Wikileaks explains, regarding just one region of Pakistan:

There appears to be clear moves from the wealthy in the Arab region to indoctrinate Sunni Muslims into an ultra-conservative form of Islam that can lead to terrorism and the radicalization of the Sunni people.

I am currently unaware of other moves being made to radicalize Arab people, but the financing of Wahhabism is one that really sticks out to me.

It's a sexually-repressed society that places a low value on personal responsibility, morality, or ethical behavior.

I don't know.

A quick search gave me this: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/ja...inequality

Also, do not take everything I say 100% seriously. I have a personal dislike for the Saudi family as I learn more about their actions, so the story I am painting is a one-sided perspective.

You will have to do more research to get a more well rounded view.

Gulf Arabs are singlehandedly the most vile "humans" on the planet. They're degenerates who do not know right from wrong.

RE: Saudi Arabia Cuts Ties With Iran Amid Fallout From Cleric’s Execution
I hope Iran takes over the whole region (Israel included).

I feel bad for the Persians. They've been slandered in the Western media for decades because of the Israel situation.

But they're a noble, civilized Indo-European people surrounded by a bunch of blood-thirsty Semetic camel-riders. America ought to be on their side.

Hopefully, with Trump...things will change.

Apparently there is MASSIVE amounts of gayness happening on the down-low in "The Kingdom".

"Kingdom in the Closet" The article is long i won't post the whole thing here but here's a little gem:

Quote:This society thrives just below the surface. During the afternoon, traffic cops patrol outside girls’ schools as classes end, in part to keep boys away. But they exert little control over what goes on inside. A few years ago, a Jeddah- based newspaper ran a story on lesbianism in high schools, reporting that girls were having sex in the bathrooms. Yasmin, a 21-year-old student in Riyadh who’d had a brief sexual relationship with a girlfriend (and was the only Saudi woman who’d had a lesbian relationship who was willing to speak with me for this story), told me that one of the department buildings at her college is known as a lesbian enclave. The building has large bathroom stalls, which provide privacy, and walls covered with graffiti offering romantic and religious advice; tips include “she doesn’t really love you no matter what she tells you” and “before you engage in anything with [her] remember: God is watching you.” In Saudi Arabia, “It’s easier to be a lesbian [than a heterosexual]. There’s an overwhelming number of people who turn to lesbianism,” Yasmin said, adding that the number of men in the kingdom who turn to gay sex is even greater. “They’re not really homosexual,” she said. “They’re like cell mates in prison.”

Ohshit

And this is the country that flogs people for making wine in their homes...

Iran needs to ditch their radical gov. ASAP, even if it means getting rid of the moderate good guys such as Zarif and Rouhani. Islam is the religion of the Arabs, and it has no place in Iran; in the meantime, Iran needs to start mending its relationship with Israel to slowly start opening up to the West again. Cyrus the Great freed the Jews from Arab captivity back in Biblical times; Persians and Jews have a long history (not to mention the Jews living in Iran, Persians living in Israel, and of course the humongous Persian Jew population in Beverly Hills) and shouldn't resort to this petty mud-slinging done by the Ayatollah and Netanyahu.

Agreed with that last part tho. Fuck Arabs.
