Understanding Consent with cup of Tea? Thoughts
http://magazine.good.is/articles/tea-nev...ed-so-good

Decent logic, covers several points, but I think its not covering several areas, when people:

- Are semi conscious and having tea/ sex
- Have buyers remorse when having tea/ sex and later mentally justify that they did not want tea and regret having tea/ sex.

The point of modern propaganda isn't only to misinform or push an agenda. It is to exhaust your critical thinking, to annihilate truth.

I don't like the concept of "Consent Tourettes"(named after Tuth's famous Rape Tourettes article).

Perhaps the government must give all women small placards written 'yes' and 'no' that they can carry in their handbags and show to men at the appropriate time.

Thsy showed this at my college orientation. The logic is very sound to me and hopefully it made sense to other guys. It basically just says if a girl passes out dont fuck her/stop fucking her and if she says stop to stop. Somehow to some guys these lines get blurry but i definitely liked / didnt hate this video.

RE: Understanding Consent with cup of Tea? Thoughts
I thinks its fun and goofy, kind of a lighthearted way to bring up the subject and could be OK to play in schools. The problem is it's patronising and extremely one sided towards men. If they made a tea video for women as well the pair could serve as a replacement for any stupid sexual harassement training/course at school that is over and done with in 10 minutes.

The woman version would need lines such as:

-If you drink the tea and you didn't like it very much, don't call the police, just don't drink the same tea again.

- if you drink tea with John, David, rob, Eric, Steve, Mike, Mike, Dan, and Kevin , don't be surprised if Ralph, Larry and Ahmed want to drink tea with you as well. Don't tell them you don't like tea if everyone knows that you like tea. Just say no thank you I'm not thirsty right now. Do not call the police.

If you walk around with a Thermos and wear a shirt that's says "I love tea", don't be surprised if many people offer to take you for tea or give you tea right there. Don't call the police. If you don't love tea anymore put on a different shirt.

If you like to drink tea with John but he is now drinking tea with Olessia on Tuesdays and Thursdays after class, that is OK. Tell John you do not want his tea anymore and phone your mother to cry. There is no need to call the police.

No they don't. Nobody is 'accidentally' committing one of the most heinous crimes there is. People who rape need to be removed from society, not taught what 'consent' is through banal analogies involving cups of tea.

Then you are entirely missing the point. It doesn't matter whether or not the video is cogent - the very fact that it exists in the first place is an affront to common sense and decency. A male engineering student doesn't need to be suffer the patronisation of being taught how not to violate women any more than a black medical student needs to be taught how to not steal bikes.

If my tone seems a little harsh, it's because it's immensely frustrating to see men here, of all places, still acceding to the SJW frame that it's a university's place or duty to teach adults, who can vote, get married, raise children, and in many sane countries, even consume alcohol, how to know when and when not to fuck women.

Teaching guys "what yes looks like" is useless. There is simply no demand for what they're selling. This is the result of authority figures getting involved in a world that they are 100% clueless about.

A much more useful video, and an inflammatory one at that, would be "How to have enjoyable sex while sober" that is directed towards college girls.

A friend of mine is banging a 22 year old uni student at the moment.

She told him that she has never had sex, ever, when not "wasted", even when in a relationship. He believes her.

RE: Understanding Consent with cup of Tea? Thoughts
Ocelot, you are right of course that the mere existence of this is demeaning to men and an indicator of the poor state of man-woman relations in general, and is yet another sjw snark piece at its core.

Yet, it is somewhat original, witty and refreshingly not crass/disgusting/degenerate like so much sjw content.

Plus, I think its decidedly "simple" message has not really delivering home what the sjws intended.

For ever 2 feminists that say "see look it's not hard to not rape!" and for every 1 manosphere man who rightly abhors the patronising message, like yourself, there are 7 moderate men and women who look at this, laugh a little and say "duh men shouldn't rape chicks, and this silly little video shows how simple that is to understand, so why is everyone making such a big deal out of it?"

Overall I think the message here works the opposite of it's intent by the sjws, and reduces the significance of "rape culture" in the mind of the average young man or woman.

RE: Understanding Consent with cup of Tea? Thoughts
Tl;dr: Liberals don't understand human nature. Especially when it comes to sex. The rest of this post will expand on that basic maxim.

When it comes to sex, the cup of tea analogy -- or any analogy -- is completely off-base. Sex is its own thing.

Very few men "offer" sex to women like tea. So there's strike one. If you offered sex to women like that, they'd laugh you out of the room, even your wife.

But the video completely strikes out because it fails to take into account the elaborate mating dance between the sexes, where there's lots of push-pull and yes-no-maybe, especially on the women's side.

How many times have you encountered this scenario months or years after you went out with a woman:

Woman: "You never even put the moves on me when you took me out!"

Man: "Wait, I did try and you backed away, so I gave up."

Woman: "I had to do that. I didn't want you to think I was easy!"

So, it's an not "ask-accept" situation as if you're selling someone soap. All sorts of emotions are involved: Pride, shame, lust, infatuation, religion-related worries.

There's also teasing, the thrill of the chase, the thrill of being chased, and (as I learned from women the hard way) the female need to be "taken." If you make women seem like they're calling the shots, a lot of them start "feeling like a slut" or "feeling like your mother" and will dump you for a guy who takes charge a bit more.

Only a would-be criminal would think it's OK to screw a woman who is passed out (beyond the obvious rape if she chokes on vomit you're up on a murder charge) or jump on a strange female, or physically force a woman into sex. Despite the left's bizarre insistence that men don't know this stuff, it was considered wrong -- and illegal -- as far back as I can remember.

But outside of that, most other scenarios involve grey areas. You could never cover these in any video because there are hundreds of variations on the mating dance.

Heck, that's why rom-coms, romance novels, and love songs never go out of style. If all sex were reduced to an "ask-accept" business transaction, there would be no need for any of that.

Some loser probably came up with this analogy and thought "oh, it's so cute! I'm going to make an entire video just to put this analogy out there and I'm gunna receive so many likes!"

^that about sums it up right there. While we're on the topic, I did some light digging, and no surprise: the script for the tea video came from a blogger named "Rockstar Dinosaur Pirate Princess," also a card carrying member of the Feminist Party. Hmm.

Implicit in this video is the idea that you have a proclivity to rape and must be taught not how to rape. Some media outlets would go so far as to say you have a rape switch (Jezebel alert) that is ON in this society that is the United States of America, which is "an incredibly violent society that, at a minimum, tolerates horrific levels of violence against women." The author then doesn't provide any evidence of this. Hmm.

I digress. They don't even know you, but to them you're a potential rapist. That is a vile thing of which to accuse a stranger.

But outside of that, most other scenarios involve grey areas.

This is why the word 'rape' related to college campuses now has negative connotations. People misunderstand its meaning.

The definition of rape has broadened, and therefore sexual assault advocates can scare the general public with bullshit statistics and intentionally-misunderstood meanings.

If someone dishes the typical '1 in 5 college women are raped on campus at some point' statistic, people think that 1 in 5 college women are forced to drop their pants and get fucked by a stranger who jumps out of the bushes.

When really it's something like '1 in 5 college women have non-forced sex on campus where either the man didn't ask for consent or the woman was intoxicated'.

A lot less scary.

And even more gray areas follow. For example, in the eyes of leftists, a man having sex with a drunk woman is rape. But what if the man is also drunk? Or slightly intoxicated but not fully? There are very few post-party bangs that result in one person being hammered and the other completely sober. As you said, there are hundreds of scenarios that come about when proposing sexual interaction, yet the left acts like it's black and white.

But the damage is already done. I hear all the time people tell women half-joking half-serious something like "You should probably walk home in a group because you know how college campuses are."

Rape advocates know that they're causing an unnecessary wave of fear and panic to the general public, but they do it to push their agenda that rape is the biggest epidemic this world has faced since World War II.

RE: Understanding Consent with cup of Tea? Thoughts
I don't think I have ever discussed the issue of consent with anyone. It is very obvious when a girl says "no" and is just part of the back and forth part of seduction/sex, and when she says "no" and means it. It's just never an issue. The people who talk about consent do not actually have sex. Or if they do, it's so infrequent, that it's some incredible life altering experience for them.

Definitely. These gray areas and ambiguities all exist because that's how women prefer to do it.

When two gay men hook up, it's straight to the point and happens rapidly.

I'm surprised Roosh doesn't make this point more often in response to media questions about consent. They attack him for articles like how many no's does it take, as if he's to blame for every "no". As if he should have packed up and gone home after hearing one smiling "no" from a chick.

49 seconds in is the giveaway that this is SJW bullying BS: "Don't be annoyed at them for not wanting tea." Being annoyed is a state of mind. You have a right to be annoyed at anyone for any reason. Those are your thoughts, and someone telling you what to think is not cool.

I don't see a problem with this video.
It's light hearted. It didn't blame any one party. It's a cartoon.
It isn't forcing the tea down your throat.

It doesn't need to go deep into the nuances of seduction and push pull. Because anyone that interacts with people already knows this.
People making excuses and trying to find holes in the video are the same times that complain that in a galaxy far far away full of aliens.. There happens to be a black person.

If anything I use this video as a joke.
When a dude has weak game and the girl dipped out.
I would ask..well..maybe she just wasn't down to drink your cheap ass tea.

RE: Understanding Consent with cup of Tea? Thoughts
No, sex is nothing like being offered a cup of tea. The whole point of the mating dance is for a woman to pretend that she doesn't want it, so that you have to prove to her that you're worth it.

Watch the following video:

THAT is how the mating dance works. The woman runs away - but stops short of running too far away, since she wants the male to pursue her. We might cover up this complex behaviour with words, but the words have very little to do with what's going on under the surface.

As many, many men have noted, when a girl says to you, halfway through a date, that she's not going to sleep with you - it's almost a 100% guarantee that she is, unless if you do something to mess it up.

Rape is performed by an extreme minority of violent psychopaths, and mentally disabled males who are overwhelmed by the constant arousal imagery bombarded upon them by high heels, sexual advertisements, and socially exploitative behaviour ("Buy me a drink, Big Boy! - so that I can go back to my girlfriends and ignore you.")

The whole point of consent laws is to undermine peoples natural instincts, to ensure that there's more awkward, emotionally painful sex, so as to drive men and women apart. The feminist establishment pushes women to drink to excess, so that they'll follow libidinal urges that they'd normally suppress and cheapen themselves through casual sex; "Date Rape" is prosecuted only partially out of hatred for men. The secondary motive is to make women feel safe when they're drunk at the biker bar, so that they'll do something that they later regret.

RE: Understanding Consent with cup of Tea? Thoughts
One of the very worst affectations of YZ (Year Zero) SJW freaks is their use of what can be called baby talk. A video like this is a perfect example of this nasty linguistic mode.

YZ baby talk is a type of cutesy, faux-naive, faux-charming chatter that seeks to express various concepts (simple enough to begin with) in what is supposed be a particularly accessible form. In reality, it is an attempt to mask the harsh, didactic, hectoring, and utterly joyless nature of the discourse that underlies it. It is also used to try to not-so-subtly infantilize the audience and make it receptive to being lectured in this manner. And for those who are in on the joke, the hardened Year Zero cadres, it provides a kind of dry Jesuitical merriment which is these folks' version of light-hearted humor.

You should learn to recognize baby talk wherever you see it, and call out the SJWs who use it. Employ the actual term, which they will hate.

same old shit, sixes and sevens Shaft...

RE: Understanding Consent with cup of Tea? Thoughts
Obviously in a sane society this video is unnecessary and patronising. But that is not the society we live in. We live in a society where a college girl simply accusing a college male of some low-level sexual assault (perhaps an unwanted kiss) can get him suspended from his school. Universities can potentially lose millions of dollars with each of these cases, and when 1 in 4 women is supposedly subjected to these heinous crimes, you can be damn sure the university is going to do their best to be able tobl say "we did everything we could to prevent this".

Now with that context laid out, this video is hardly patronising at all. It doesn't place the blame solely on men. It doesn't absolve women of all responsibility. It simply lays out the law in an incredibly obvious way. No = no. This is still the reality in most places (some are moving towards yes means yes which is in actuality a pretty simple step added into the process).

Obviously the smart folk at the RVF understand that no doesn't necessarily mean stop and get out, it usually means not yet but keep trying and get me to say yes. However, the virgin engineering student who accidentally stumbles into a passed out woman on his bed after a party could be helped by this simple video.

Now, fully considering the climate on college campuses ag the moment, i didn't feel patronized by this video. The video could've just blamed men, absolved women of all responsibility and left it at that and no one would've been surprised. But instead this video literally just says what the fucking law is and somehow some of you guys are so far deep into weird bullshit that this video offends your sensibilities. If you have a problem with the policies that are clearly laid out in this video, you probably have some soul-searching to do because nothing in there is unreasonable.

And yes i decided to enter college despite the current climate and yes i fully understand the potential dangers. But not allowing myself to graduate from school and enjoy the benefits of a degree because i'm offended by and object to a video analogy involving tea and assault is completely laughable. If you're offended that this video is being shown to college students you need to get over yourself.

And i realize this post is going to come off as defensive and harsh, but y'all need to understand that showing this video is a step in the right direction towards sanity, not a step backward into further degeneracy.
