The women pillaged a Louis Vuitton jewelry case holding a small fortune in basketballer bling, law-enforcement sources said.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” Williams said after the Knicks’ game at Madison Square Garden Saturday night. “It’s still up in the air.”

Williams, 24, had been celebrating Friday night’s 107-97 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers with a group of friends at the Up & Down club.

Afterward, they headed back to Williams’ Broadway apartment — along with two women whom they had just met and who may have been using false names, the sources said.

After more partying at Williams’ bachelor pad, everyone went home.

But not before the two party girls found the Louis Vuitton case stuffed with three-quarters of a million dollars worth of jewelry in one of Williams’ closets.

The fast-fingered females grabbed the contents, and took off, the sources said.

Williams checked the case at about 4 p.m. Saturday.

He realized that his treasure trove had been stolen, and called the cops.

Williams — who signed a two-year, $8.8 million contract with the Knicks this season — managed to score 9 points to help his team beat the Chicago Bulls, 107-91, at the Garden on Saturday night.

Police are probing whether the Williams’ theft is part of a pattern of robberies committed by young women who prey upon wealthy, bling-flashing men at clubs and hotel bars, the sources said.

In one case earlier this month, a $590,000 Swiss timepiece was robbed from a Beverly Hills watch dealer by two women he met at a Midtown strip club.

The hoopster, who was chosen by the Minnesota Timberwolves as the second overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft, has posted pictures of his prized possessions on Instagram.

“My new watch came in,” he boasted of a $6,800 Panerai ­Radiomir black seal watch. [email protected] will always be one of my favorites simply for the classic look they keep on all of their watches. Thank you.”

Another Instagram pic, posted from Paris, shows Williams wearing a heavy gold chain with a large medallion bearing an image of the crucified head of Jesus Christ.

“All praise to the most high,” Williams wrote about the “Jesus piece.”



The bling may well have been part of Williams’ plans for living large in retirement.

“I love watches man,” he wrote in another post. “Invest and watch it multiply.”

Finally he spends enough money to have 750k in jewelry. His career earnings are just over $20 million. So he has about 1/20 of his gross income over those years in jewelry alone. Once you include taxes taken out, money spent on rent, food and of course that lavish lifestyle that most pro athletes have then you have a recipe for bankruptcy once his career is over.

I guess this way he atleast has an insurance claim on it compared to when he will most likely have to give it up once bankruptcy hits.

The irony is thick. The Bible says not to make any engraven images of me, yet this fool (among thousands of others) yet continue to do this. It's fitting that the enemy would take away his childishly admired valuable that he attributes to allegiance to Christ.

The NBA has many marginal players sitting around making a shitload of money.

The NBA has the best pay structure for pro ball players out of any sport. There is no performance type clause like in the NFL. This means if someone is a bust or just sucks they can still get paid a shitload.

There are plenty of examples of players who barely skate in and have an entire career bench warming for millions. Correct me if i'm wrong I think Luke Walton was a pretty good example of that. 30 million to sit around after one breakout year.

There's not much to add here that hasn't already been said. He should have had his valuables stored in an alarmed safe. I would also have CCTV concealed dome cameras recording all entryways into the property (in this case balcony and front hallway.) There are some thefts you can't prevent, but the images could be crucial for post-incident investigation. Now what is he expected to do? Send the cops to pick out grainy CCTV images from the entrance of the club?

It amazes me that his team doesn't provide a professional briefing to new players as they are inducted on the security risks associated with their life as a professional sports player. I wouldn't expect young guys to not bring home some strange, but knowledge of honey pots might have helped him. Also what the hell are guys doing wearing so much bling in uncontrolled environments? (no, clubs don't count as controlled).

The cops and club are likely to cooperate fully on something high profile like this, but there's no guarantee they'll track the thieves or recover the goods. I'm not sure if insurance covers unsecured items stolen by guests within a residence.

Expensive lesson.

Fully agree in that these women are certainly legally culpable and that their moral compass needs to be in better working order. Not the best-worded, and meant it more tongue-in-cheek, but my point was one of association and expectation.

This guy is a pro baller, millionaire, with all sorts of connections we could only imagine. Its not like we were talking about some chick sports reporter he was banging, or someone he picked up at a yuppy charity event.
