You guys severely underestimate how good the poker shtick was for a while for a guy with self-control, an obviously bright mind, and that "douche-bag" factor.

I know a guy who many would consider near dumb as a box of rocks who grinded out a six figure plus income and did well in some tournaments who now has the passive-income many guys on here would absolutely LOVE. Plays with big toys, has a great time, doesn't care what people say. Doesn't get laid much that I can tell (and I'm kind of scared of the chicks he'd fuck as he's ghetto and ugly as sin), so a lot of guys wouldn't give him much respect here, but he did very well for himself and then translated it into some basic but consistently income producing businesses.

It's kind of the "dumb plumber" effect where even basic bitch middle class people would look way down on the "grimy dirty" plumber who is actually clearing long-term 3-4 times the income of his "customers." It's just people who think they deserve the money they have and a douche-bag trust-funder doesn't. Then they throw good money after bad and you end up with some salty rich people and one even wealthier douche-bag.

Never underestimate the conniving douche-bag in live play. They are rare (usually the douche-bags get felted eventually), but the way he talks about the game is very similar to many high level and mid-high level pro/verifiably winning players that I've spent time around.

People who don't understand the poker/pro gambler world have a hard time grasping how complex but also how simple it can be.

Most people would never go to a $50 to $100 dinner amongst a decent size group of friends and consider the option of "credit card roulette" to pay for the meal (much less ever have heard of it). Most people would scoff at the idea itself and others would be scared shitless at the chance of having to pay Z times more than their own meal (where Z is the number of people in attendance other than yourself).

Pro gamblers would consider it normal and if they don't decline (which still some do) would toss in their credit card without a care in the world, knowing their odds and seeing it as entertainment with little long-term risk.

He's a male bimbo. More power to him, but i really don't see much to be impressed about. Apart from attaining celebrity status (which personally i dont ever aspire to) i dont really see what he's done of note. He got some of his dad's filthy money and washed it by "playing poker?", but if his Poker-winnings aka Trust fund disappeared tomorrow, there's no way he could support anything remotely like his lifestyle from his status. He seems alright, not especially interesting, but amiable enough, and the JRE was a fun listen. Just dont see why people would really be impressed by him. It's not like theres a paucity of genuine talented, fascinating, hard working guys out there to look to as impressive guys. Good luck to DB, but he aint one of them IMHO....

High rollers are more willing to play trust fund kids or any millionaire in game of poker since they know can afford the higher hands and are willing to loss that amount of money. Dan has explain for many high stake poker players, knowing that person you loss has lots of money, has less ill will when the player has losing hand.

He didn't say anything about having a trust fund on the podcast. He said he made all his money from playing poker.

His old man has been hiding money that he owes the SEC for years. He's set up all kinds of shell companies and trusts to hide money.

My guess is that Bilzerian is probably hiding some of that for him.

His dad's bio on Wiki sounds really interesting too. The guy had one hell of a life. I also ordered Adam Bilzerian's book from Amazon, looks really good.

There's not much question whether Dan Bilzerian has had income and has wealth and possible current income from trusts, but it's also very possible he made significant amounts of money playing poker and continues to do so. It's also possible he's making a lot of it up and essentially laundering money for his dad/family.

Who knows. Entertaining either way.
