I'm recovering from hurting my back jumping off the upper deck of a good sized boat. There may have been drinking involved. I do very stupid things all the time. I just try not to go out of control. That was more of my point.

Can you correct me if I'm wrong, my understanding of foam rolling is that you work the opposite muscle of the one you have a problem with? Each muscle has an opposite, generally, sometimes you can repair aches and pains by stretching or working its opposite.

This thread gets me thinking about the polarization of alpha and beta. I think that there are a lot of guys that are on one side or the other, Bilzerian is either a king in their eyes or a goat. This has got me thinking: is a man ALWAYS an "Alpha" or a "Beta"? Or is everything a shade of grey?

Ryan Deluca is clearly an Alpha in the sense that he created an empire, is worth almost half a billion dollars, and rode the dot com boom to a financial situation many of us would kill for. Bilzerian doesn't give a fuck, bangs hot girls, shoots guns, and lives a life that any of us would also kill for.

Deluca then is clearly a beta with women, and doesn't have the game necessary to keep a girl even with his hundreds of millions of dollars. Bilzerian has frankly, done nothing with his life, and in my eyes is the male Kim Kardashian.

So the discussion is interesting that it is polarizing. I could argue both of these men are alpha, but also with beta tendencies. There is no stoicism in these two men, there is no unbreakable masculinity. They're both slaves to one thing or another; Deluca to women, Bilzerian to the almighty dollar, drugs, and fame.

It definitely makes me think about how to be the epitome of a man, how to balance all that life has to offer. I would believe and argue that it would be a combination of these two men but also additions that both of them lack.

I think the problem is that Alpha vs. Beta is a false dichotomy that loses its usefulness as a tool to explain things once you get the basic idea behind sociosexual dynamics.

That's a great idea, actually. So if I understood correctly, you say there should be two axes:
1: alpha / beta
2: honourable / reprehensible

For those like me who are not familiar with popular movie/cartoon characters:

- Top left (honourable alpha): Greek/Roman warrior or someone like Robert the Bruce?
- Top right (reprehensible alpha): crime lord / drug kingpin. They have game but they're parasites.

- Bottom left (honourable beta): I've no idea who/what that cat-man character is. This is where I would put Ryan Deluca...
- Bottom right (reprehensible beta): evil midget? I would put white knights in this category. Feminist men, social-justice warriors, etc.

The only problem is people only have so much time to refine themselves in one direction or the other. Keep in mind that Roosh spent 15 years chasing pussy around the world, writing books and hanging on an internet locker room. He has built a knowledge of framework that has allowed him to be an expert in seducing women. If you are on this forum, you probably have bought his books or have been influenced by his work.

On the other hand, he could have spent his time building a business empire. Although I think Roosh is starting to trade off passions now. He is foregoing chasing women in favor of something greater. All a women can do to satisfy a man in bed, keep his house clean, cook his food and raise his spawn. But outside of that, he spend his time working toward what? Wearing a tie and suit and working a 9 to 5 job he hates? or Removing his hard hat after having his balls drained from work then to get a 6 pack from the grocery store to sedate himself to sleep to go that same job the next morning. I think Roosh has taken a better path than the majority of men in the world. But it doesn't come without short comings.

I agree that most dichotomies are false and exist on a multi-planed scale. For example, one could be the leader of their group of friends and get the first choice of pussy when the group goes out, but work a shit job with a ball busting boss who emasculates him at every turn. Or one could be the scotch sipping executive who kicks ass at work but goes home to his swamp donkey wife and gets bitched at for not taking out the garbage.
