Next time I hope people gather around the protestors and build a human wall and chant Build the Wall.

Good job from reporter Michael Sitver. Surprising that he wasn't forced to follow the party line. Reading something truthful and honest from the Huffington Post is disconcerting. Almost feels like the site has been hacked.

I thought it was kind of surprising too until I read this:

Seems he's an independent writer from a different site who just happens to submit on the huffington blog platform.

I really doubt anyone from Fluffington Post's actual staff would side with conservative views. Their actual staff are die hard far left with more than a few outright loons.

While I'm tempted to join the chorus in complaining about these lunatics, think about this: They're doing more to undermine leftism than any of us ever could. Everyone I've ever discussed it with, including many self-identified liberals, is repulsed by anti-free speech campus leftists. They've created an issue where the overwhelming majority of people side with conservatives, and shined a light on the ugliest aspects of leftism.

Also admit it; you're entertained by them. By far the most intriguing thing about Milo's speeches isn't the speeches themselves, but the deranged SJW freaks they bring out of the woodwork.

Absolutely. My two favourite Milo videos are his appearances on the BBC's The Big Questions. The SJWs he encounters are the type who were functional enough to get jobs in the media yet still crazy enough that they desperately try to shout him down whenever he talks and have nothing to say but yell 'no that's not true' when confronted with irrefutable evidence against their idiotic positions.

They currently have close to 5000 reviews on their Facebook page with tons of one star reviews. Their current average rating is 1.4. They're getting pummeled. If anyone has Facebook, you should go leave a review.

Turns out the chick in the white shorts who was getting in Milo's face is a DePaul student majoring in...African and Black Diaspora studies. Plus she also the daughter of the woman who is the Chicago Police Department's Director of Administration. Explains a whole lot about yesterday. It's the Chicago way. So corrupt.

RE: Milo Yiannopoulos Thread
The De Paul university president issued a non-apology.

The tldr of it is that he is completely progressive and victim blames Milo as a provocateur who will 'exploit the differences within our human community to their own benefit, blissfully unconcerned with the damage they leave behind.'

The university told police not to intervene and obviously applies double standards as it supports the protestors.

They will not listen to reason until there is consequences for them. The only way they will change their behaviour is if they lose money, prestige and students. Cernovich has the right idea by advising contacting their major donors and making them aware of how their money is being spent. Milo also posted a negative review on Facebook which cratered their review average to 2 stars. Actually after the event thousands of their reviews are 1 star and reference the debacle.

RE: Milo Yiannopoulos Thread
^ The sanctimonious cuck says...

Quote:Dear Members of the DePaul University Community,

I am writing from France, where Fr. Udovic and I are leading a mission trip to introduce our trustees to the life and legacy of St. Vincent de Paul. Because today is a free day, a number of us are spending the day in Normandy, touring the museum, walking the famous beaches of the D-Day landings and standing silent before the rows and rows of graves honoring the men and women who gave their lives so others might live in freedom.

I tell you this because I awoke this morning to the reports and online videos of yesterday’s speech by Milo Yiannopoulos and the accompanying protest. I was sorry to see it.

Mr. Yiannopoulos and I share very few opinions. He argues that there is no wage gap for women, a difficult position to maintain in light of government data. As a gay man, he has claimed that sexual preference is entirely a choice, something few if any LGTBQ individuals would claim as their own experience. He claims that white men have fewer privileges than women or people of color, whom he believes are unfairly privileged in modern society — a statement that is immediately suspect when white men continue to occupy the vast majority of top positions in nearly every major industry.

Generally, I do not respond to speakers of Mr. Yiannopoulos’ ilk, as I believe they are more entertainers and self-serving provocateurs than the public intellectuals they purport to be. Their shtick is to shock and incite a strong emotional response they can then use to discredit the moral high ground claimed by their opponents. This is unworthy of university discourse, but not unfamiliar across American higher education. There will always be speakers who exploit the differences within our human community to their own benefit, blissfully unconcerned with the damage they leave behind.

Now that our speaker has moved on to UC Santa Barbara and UCLA, we at DePaul have some reflecting and sorting out to do. Student Affairs will be inviting the organizers of both the event and the protest — as well as any others who wish — to meet with them for this purpose. I’ve asked them to reflect on how future events should be staffed so that they proceed without interruption; how protests are to be more effectively assisted and enabled; and how the underlying differences around race, gender and orientation that were made evident in yesterday’s events can be explored in depth in the coming academic year.

As this proceeds, I wish to make a few matters crystal clear.

- Yesterday’s speaker was invited to speak at DePaul, and those who interrupted the speech were wrong to do so. Universities welcome speakers, give their ideas a respectful hearing, and then respond with additional speech countering the ideas. I was ashamed for DePaul University when I saw a student rip the microphone from the hands of the conference moderator and wave it in the face of our speaker.

- I was alarmed when I watched individual students on both sides intentionally provoking the others with inflammatory language, but I was proud when I saw students — many students — working to calm each other, and at times, even hold people back from hasty decisions. Many of our students understood that protests only work when people conduct themselves honorably. I wish to thank all of them for self-monitoring the crowd’s behavior. The experience could have been a far worse experience had they not done so.

- I wish to thank our Student Affairs staff, Public Safety team, Student Center employees, Chicago police and temporary contract safety personnel. They were thrust into an unexpected and challenging situation that we must examine for hard learned lessons. I am grateful that the situation was calmed and dispersed without serious injury to anyone’s person. I know the staff, too, are reflecting on these events and what might be learned for the future.

- On behalf of the university, I apologize to the DePaul College Republicans. They deserved an opportunity to hear their speaker uninterrupted, and were denied it.

Here in Normandy, I expected to be moved by the generosity of those who gave their lives on the beaches early on June 6, 1944. I did not expect, however, to be shocked when I realized that most of the soldiers were the same ages as our students today. The rows on rows of white crosses in the American cemetery speak to the selflessness of the human spirit at early adulthood to lay down their lives for a better world.

I realize that many of yesterday’s protesters hold similarly noble goals for a more inclusive world for those traditionally held aside by our society. I realize also that these young soldiers died for all the freedoms enshrined in our Bill of Rights, including freedom of speech and assembly. We honor their sacrifice best if we, too, remember and honor all the rights of human freedom, even as we fight for more freedom and justice for all.

God bless you.

Rev. Dennis H. Holtschneider, C.M.
President

It was def a setup on the DePaul administrations part.

Police Told by DePaul Administrators Not to Do Their Jobs

Quote:Huffington Post Contributor Michael Sitver writes that during the uproar at Milo Yiannopoulos’ event at DePaul last night, Chicago PD officers were not refusing to intervene due to fears of racism accusations, as some had speculated online, but because of a direct order from university administrators to stay out of it.
According to the article, Chicago police “wanted to do their job” but were instructed by campus administrators to “stand passively and watch.”

While an invited speaker was harassed and harangued by protesters, DePaul administrators cowered indecisively in a corner. Faced with a serious challenge to first-amendment rights on their campus, they were visibly frightened of confronting the protesters, who tied themselves to the”Black Lives Matter” movement.

Administrators had fought against hosting the conservative event for over three months. As they watched the event unravel, they seemed almost relieved to see the radical protesters fulfill their wishes. The rights implications were utterly lost on them. All they wanted was a nice, quiet, homogeneously-thinking campus.

Only days before the event, administrators had demanded that DePaul College Republicans, the club that hosted the event, pay hundreds of extra dollars in security costs. This was a clear breach of contract, but the organizers paid the fee under threat of cancellation. Yet, after ordering a dozen security officers, the administrators prevented them from restoring order, forcing them to stand down.

I talked to a few of the dozen Chicago police officers eventually called into the building, and they were irate. They were well-trained, and well-equipped to handle scenarios such as this. They wanted to do their job, and remove the protesters, but administrators demanded they stand passively and watch. Once again, violence prevailed over free speech on a liberal college campus, and the administration was 100% complicit.

My brother goes to DePaul and attended the Milo lecture. As you can imagine, he's fuming.

Here's what he texted me:

Brother: BLM protestors interrupted the event and DePaul let it happen and told the police and security not to do anything. There are videos and articles online. O'Reilly even showed a brief clip of it.

Me: Was anyone assaulted?

Me: DePaul encouraged them to protest. They had it planned since day 1. The administrators saw how successful Milo was at Penn State and neutralized his threat to the Narrative by muscling him into silence. I warned you and mom about DePaul.

Brother: You were right and I'm embarrassed to go there. It looked like the girl assaulted Milo and the guy threatened Milo.

Here you have a witness's account. The school ALLOWED the assault on Milo.

Yep, it's called the "Milo Effect".

DePaul University just announced this on their Facebook page (with close to 400 comments and counting):
Quote:DePaul University
5 hrs ·

To our students, parents, alumni and all other members of the DePaul community: We are reviewing all of your posts, comments and messages, and sharing those with university administration regularly. Believe us when we say that your concerns are being heard.

Father Holtschneider issued the following statement yesterday with regard to Tuesday evening's events. We will share any further updates here if and when we receive them.

After more than 7.5K reviews with a rating average of 1.1, DePaul University administration is definitely embarrassed with all of the negative attention that the school is receiving so far.

It's even worse than that.. i've been watching their facebook page and it's apparent that alumni have gone back and changed their 5 star ratings to 1 star. They had something like 500+ 5 star reviews when this story broke and now it dropped down to 133. They are fucked.

They are totally fucked, without a doubt. I just read somewhere that one alumni will not be donating ($250,000) to the school so I'm sure other donors will pull out as well.

I predict DePaul University will follow in the same path as to what happened to Missouri University: students transfer, budget shortfall, low enrollment, etc.

Sure.
This is the Twitter link of Charlie Kirk who spoke to a major donor. I first found out about it via "EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: #BlackLivesMatter shuts down Milo Yiannopoulos speech at DePaul University" article.

Student protesters have already started to congregate at UC Santa Barbara this afternoon ahead of Breitbart Tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos’ talk on campus tonight.

Signs reading “Fuck the Patriarchy”, “Girl Power!”, and “Patriarchy is Cancer” could be seen while counter-protesters displayed American flags, as well as their infamous “Feminism is Cancer” banner seen hanging from a bridge yesterday.

Milo’s talk, titled “Feminism is Cancer” will run from 7-8:30 PDT tonight at UCSB and follow with a Q&A session. You can watch it on livestream below.

As a precaution following Tuesday’s violent protests committed by anti-Milo Black Lives Matter activists, no backpacks or signs will be allowed into the venue.

This is what I don't get. For some reason academia and the police have this bizarre interpretation of common law that insists that when police officers enter onto the holy grounds of a campus that they are reduced to the status of contracted security guards. WTF? Do they check in their dick and their balls at the campus gate?

Officer: We've been called to a disturbance here.
Admin: I'm going to need you guys to stand there passively thanks.
Officer: Your opinion on how we handle this matter is irrelevant. Stand aside.

How long does that particular leash run to?

"Officer, while I'm aware there's serious assault in progress we're going to need you to stand passively and watch."

F'king pathetic.

RE: Milo Yiannopoulos Thread
I know a lot about DePaul and can confirm that Cenk is accurate.

I'm pleased that he at least is coming to the aid of what is good and right.

How any Catholic people can stand by and watch these corrupt, anti-Christian institutions continue their filth is beyond me.

But SJW is part of the institutional/political aspect of RC, just ask Jorge.

RE: Milo Yiannopoulos Thread
Milo's UCSB speech has been only minimally interrupted. He's now taking questions and the first guy who comes up to ask a question can't even cite the statistics that he wants sources for.

SMDH

Very good question from a female as the 2nd question. Surprising from a UC campus.

I talk about security detail at length in Free Speech Isn't Free. I give my Canada bodyguard a lot of airtime.

I was going to buy the book as soon as it comes out, but now it's going to the top of my reading stack.
