No matter what she says looks are always a high priority. As she gets older that doesn't change. What does change is her understanding of the world. Biologically as she hits the wall she realises a higher value man will be harder to keep. The other factor is that as she gets older she realises she can't attract a higher quality guy.

To everyone else she will say looks don't matter but she's just deluding herself into thinking she is choosing who she wants to choose.

Men shouldn't delude themselves into thinking looks don't matter. That's feminist thinking to try and deny the wall, to try and promote obesity and to try and lower male standards etc.

We should always stay in shape and take care of our appearance. In relationships the odds are already stacked. Being out of shape virtually throws up the white flag and gives away the balance of power by default.

Looks with always have a strong tie to sexual attraction for a woman. The change in life is simply that they stop thinking with what's between their legs and start making more pragmatic, business-like decisions as they get older. Interestingly enough, go ahead and ask women who met their spouse in their late 20s to 30s about why they got married. I work around a few like this and have done this experiment myself. What you'll find is that their answers all have to do with them and "their" plan, not b/c they love the guy they're marrying. And it's these guys that meet women at this point that end up in sexless marriages. They wonder where the sexual passion went. In reality it was never there.

When women are young, they get heartbroken b/c they chase the men they truly have feelings for, the men they find arousing. When women are older, they're the ones doing the damage as breaking up with a lame husband, or a husband who lost his job, is a cold business decision. Not to mention these guys typically "married up" and it's the best they can do.

I don't know if this is necessarily a tactic as much as it's a simple wiring difference between the two genders. I think to men it's pretty inconceivable to commit to (or at least be in a long-term relationship with) a woman they're not sexually attracted to. Women can compartmentalize sex and relationships better.

I agree with a lot of the posters above, looks will always matter, but to address the specifics I would say that around a woman's late twenties, and then progressively into her thirties, other factors will become as important or arguably more important. As she approaches "the female wall" (e.g. 30 years old), she will be shifting more from "young, wild, party girl" who wants to fuck the "hottest" guys to caring more about finding a "provider".

Part of it is biological, as her "clock" starts ticking the pressure both externally and internally will be to find a good male provider who can take care of her and any possible offspring. On RVF we talk about women in the workplace and the cuntiness of professional women, but I'm still thinking that most really attractive women 7.5 + are still mostly looking for their "golden ticket", a man with financially means who for the most part will pay her way through life.

Also as women are hitting their late twenties a lot of their daddies are starting to cut them off financially, so finding a guy with money starts becoming more and more important. That plus status which often goes hand in hand, it may be cool for her to date the unemployed guy in a band when she's 23, but when she's 29 that guy is probably going to start looking less cool, whereas the guy with a dope apartment, nice car, and successful business is going to be more attractive.

That said, looks will always be the top factor when it comes to pure sexual attraction, which when it comes to simply getting sex is the most important factor. Hence you get women who will stray on their man with a more attractive male, but then return to their man due to the stability he can provide her over the long term, which taps into the alpha/beta dichotomy.

My observation of women I've run across socially who are from their late 30's to early 50's is that their emphasis on a man's looks is a function of their personal wealth. If they aren't doing that great financially, they are looking for a guy who is an excellent provider and looks are downgraded in importance. She knows she can always fuck some guy on the side she is actually attracted to.

But if she is affluent due to her career, family fortune or divorce rape of a wealthy husband, she will go for men who are good looking and have game, even if they are relatively poor.

I met a 29 year old woman at the club on the weekend who got married at 21 and although she claims to still love her husband and the financial security that comes with it, she wasn't happy in the relationship and was considering breaking it off. When I asked why, she simply said she wasn't attracted to him anymore. Obviously this could go further than looks but it seemed to me she was having a mid-life crisis and wanted to hook up with someone good looking who she found attractive. In steps prince charming- hooked up with her an hour later.

Women will always be debating security vs. attraction, no matter how old they are. Their brain says be with a financially secure, safe guy but they're heart will always want the excitement that comes from being with a guy their physically attracted to.

To answer your question, as soon as a female has to start worrying about generating her own finances and building a future, she will start to sacrifice looks for someone who will be able to assist in reaching these goals. That could be early 20's or it could be well into the 30's for "daddy's little girl" or some party girls.

Who cares what they care for?? In the same circumstances let's say financial and personality wise, they will always prefer a good looking one over a bad looking.

Reading your little, I tought it was when they care most about them looks, in the case it is a feminine woman without the feminist crap, then I would say it would be between 35 to 50, it will be when they will spend more money on their appearance.

I suggest you forget about good-looking-guy concept altogether and focus on content; you will shorten your journey to wherever it is you wanna be. If you doubt any of this just Google for PUAs in old age or wheelchair or other apparent undesirable features.

Please note that I am not downplaying the importance of presentation (clothing, grooming, elegance and so on). I am asking you to forget about what most females usually mention: tall, broad shoulders, colour of eyes you don't have etc. etc.
