Him and Chris Pratt. They're letting him finish out his previous roles but I don't think he'll get new ones.

There are scores of actors who are known to be conservative, while staying silent.

There are others like James Woods who talked out too much and they are in a bit of a spot.

Chris Pratt stays out of it.

Christopher Nolan is a different matter, since he is a writer and director having enough clout to dictate a story.

Star Wars is pure 100% cultural marxist propaganda - the hiring of Rian Roundhead Johnson was proof of that. JarJar Abrams is also such a Thought-Gestapo-bootlicker with his wamyn and anti-White comments.

Mel Gibson for example is one who is known to be uber-conservative, but his popularity is simply too high - he just shuts his mouth now. Though I doubt if Gibson the director would get any Hollywood-funded projects - only as an actor.

Watch that movie, then look at the relative critic scores for that movie compared to Last Jedi. It's proof that critics have their heads so far up their assess that damn freight train couldn't pull em out.

Yeah there's a little bit of you-go-ism in it but none of the characters are so perfect or so flawless as to be unlikeable. The plot actually made sense and the events that happen in the movie turn out to have a good reason for happening. Locations in the movie are easily observable as existing for a reason that makes sense in the setting. The characters have more personality than a cardboard cutout. The main protagonist is well...not exactly Brock Samson but he is shown at the beginning of the movie having a rolodeck of dozens of notches and they're not afraid to portray the female lead as having sex appeal (she spends the first part of the movie in a bikini).

And the art design is in an entirely different league.

I avoided this last year thinking it was going to be trash and then reviews came in saying the leads were miscast...

I watched this on your recommendation and I was very impressed, the visual style is so out there in the best way possible and I even liked the two endearing main characters (apparently people were unimpressed and they were wooden) It took itself serious and straight, but it still had fun. There was actual alien wonder It was bright and cheery. The characters felt natural and not like ciphers to espouse at each other.

There was a Japanese sci-fi RPG game called Star Ocean 3, a few years back that I loved and it was very French inspired in its story and look/tone and I got the exact vibes from this film, clearly the game was must of inspired by the original comics of Valerian (which I know next to nothing about).

It also strange to see a good looking female lead in a sci fi with freeflowing hair way past shoulder length in scenes.
.
This was a Euro production, the most expensive ever and it feels really different to what the US puts out. It bombed big time.

It made me think of all the old mid 20th century crazy sci fi strips/books from the last century that were so alien the worlds were and vivid and how hopeful and adventurous they were and how few of them ever get filmed.

You never actually visit Earth in the game, and spend 70% of the game on Medevil planets waiting to be rescued, stranded.....and this intro became the ultimate cocktease every time you turned on the PS2, like it was taunting you with awesomeness that never came, the game still rocked hard though in gameplay, music, mind melting twists and atmosphere.

Oh look, I thought we were going to do all this (and maybe for real too). Look how shit France is now, how could we ever build to this?

RE: Star Wars does not need lead "strong" females characters
The Valerian and Laurelie comics were a special form of magic. I used to read those in my youth.

The movies were a postomdernist-open-borders influenced crap that was only a 20% facsimile of the original magic. Even the characters picked are the usual postmodernist shitstains - the dick-sucking hero and the drug-addicted super-woman with an attitude:

The masculine Valerian and the happy-go-lucky Laureline are inversed and just a toilet paper smeared with shit. But I guess it still retained some original magic, but it's only if that is the first contact you have with the material - not if you were introduced with the comics before. Even the cartoons created some 15-20 years ago were already strong manipulations of the lore.

-------------

Funny news:

Disney threatens to release the Rian Johnson trilogy as early as 2020:

https://movieweb.com/rian-johnson-star-w...0-release/

Currently the Roundhead has said that he tries to find the spirit and essence of Star Wars. Such a fucking moron - his postmodernist take will only go into destructivist mode saying - this is sexist, misogynist, chauvinist, deplorable, racist, colonialist, etc.

We have seen your take Roundhead - and it is crap.

Valerian was great. I've posted about it before. Much better than TLJ.

I'm thrilled that SOLO is doing badly. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has only just opened, yet has already surpassed SOYLO in overseas box office!;

I hated Valerian. I just don't "get" Luc Besson. Sure, the chick is super-hot, but the story itself just went nowhere fast and I didn't care about anybody, just as I didn't care about anyone in The Fifth Element. The CGI was sensory overload just the way it was in Ready Player One.

I know the source-material of Valerian was an inspiration for Star Wars but the tone didn't work for me, especially when the plot came to a halt at the strip club and you're left feeling like you're watching Moulin Rouge, which is the same damn thing Besson did when Chris Tucker started stealing scenes as a cross-dresser in The Fifth Element. It's like the worst aspects of suspension of disbelief breakage of Star Wars x10.

I'll agree to the point about the strip club thing. That whole little detour does a lot to throw off the film's pacing.

Ah crap, I broke the boycott... Got dragged by someone and had to go.

You know, the whole Lando pan sexual thing is just bullshit. It is completely not in the movie at all. That writer or whoever just had to stir controversy, and then makes all the altrighters look like overexaggerators when they object to the faggotization of star wars when it didn't even happen.

Lando was talking about slaying vag or gambling in nearly every scene introducting him, very on-character.

My main complaint is the dialogue was so fucking dry and lacking any witty retorts from Han, and completely blah sexual chemistry with the main chick.

The woody Harrelson character totally overshadowed Han and Lando, which shouldn't have been the intent of the movie.

Although, that's in the 'safe' Ron Howard version. The previous Lord / Miller version had a fair amount of improv from what I heard.

Would be ironic if the Lord / Miller version would have been a commercial hit, yet never had a chance cause of Disney / Lucasfilm's soycialism...

That was not Lando - he did not hit on that not super-assassin within 3 years of training at 5"0 height. In the OT he hit on Leia within 2 seconds, there was none of that here. And no one as of yet talks in those SJW-Star Wars about slaying vag. They only allude to slaying the white patriarchy.

And if anyone misses the phrase:
"My joints are squeaking, you gotta do that thing again Lando" - all said with a meaningful look.

If you miss that, then I don't wanna know what is going on in your house. Does your mother also say:
"My hips are aching darling, you gotta do that thing again son." Then she looks at you straight.

So fuck that - that was clear sexual undertone. I know that the current sexual consent crap was written by autists for autists, but seriously.

The shitty SJW bot has wide child-bearing hips, she sways walking like a woman, she even has a fucking saw-dildo between her legs, she attacks real sentient life-forms at random as in the first cantina. She should be scrap metal. But I guess she is fine being fused into the Millennium Falcon. Maybe they will re-upload her into a droid body again in episode XV - the Dong Lover Pansexual Star Wars story.

I think the public is usually fascinated by the mystique of alternate cuts from fired/disenfranchised directors. The Donner version of Superman II is probably the most infamous example, or The Magnificent Ambersons.

However, there's no guarantee that if you didn't like the movie that the original version was going to be much better. For all we know, the direction Lord / Miller was going in was even worse and Ron Howard just barely managed to polish a turd. Remember those leaks about acting coaches bring brought in?

I would guess after Kathleen Kennedy is finally gone that more details will emerge. We're starting to get more hints, for instance, about Colin Trevorrow's Episode IX ideas.

There is a scene in the movie where she cuts through some fence with a saw that comes out of between her child-bearing hips. She essentially uses a saw-dildo between her legs and tells the others not to look, because this embarrasses her. Feminists love to have their dildo and penis-envy, so it's no surprise. I even heard that many cinemas cheered when she died. Also she was shot down while dramatic music was blaring and Lando was in panic. He risked his life to recover her upper torso and almost cried. I know that girls will cry over losing their Iphone, but as soon as they get another one they are fine.

And I seriously doubt that it was meant as parody - maybe Lord and Miller tried it that way, but there were simply too many dramatic scenes like the ending.

And the droid talks about Lando and her doing the dirty. Imagine C3PO talking about having a gay relationship with Luke Skywalker or Han Solo. They would have wiped his mind instantly. Disgusting filth.

And I don't mind if they wanted to push the sex-robot angle:

But this is not exactly Star Wars lore.

Though we gotta be honest here - it's the equivalent of this:

Albeit we noted in other threads that a blowjob machine in combination with VR gets the incel job almost done.

But do you want that in your Star Wars? Droids haven't been sexualized before, so why start doing that?

John Boyega now joins the Star Wars directors/actors/producers/writers mob who all shit on the fans.

He claims that no one is allowed to be "rude" (as in say that his character Finn sucked) only because he bought a ticket.

And this dude above is correct - Justice League actors and creators got plenty of shit, but they did not go out on social media saying to the fans: "Fuck you all!"

I think the reason is because if the producers and lead writers start shitting on fans, then all the actors and everyone below just joins in.

PR wise it is comparable to a McDonald's where every employee calls a rude customer a fat piece of shit. You swallow it and let it go. Everyone is getting shit on the internet. It's always the super-SJW movies which go apeshit - Ghostbusters, Social Justice Wars etc.

They raise the known issues:

+ boring
+ propaganda
+ bad lighting with Solo
+ Dragonlady being super-fighter now beating Han 3 times
+ it looks cheap and the world looks small (if they are somehow obsessed with "practical effects" then they are going to film on fucking Earth and it will be boring and small)
+ Social Justice bot
+ Fuel suddenly being a fucking issue - Luke flew the X-wing across the galaxy all without having to find a bloody gas station

And funny tidbits:

Kathleen Kennedy insisted that the rebel leader Enfys Nest MUST BE A 16 YEAR OLD GIRL!

In addition it came out that Ehrenreich as a casting choice was due to Spielberg picking him - he supposedly met him. Spielberg seems to be an old pedo, so Alden maybe earned it the hard way. But why they discarded the thousands of choices they interviewed knowing full well how important the actor for Han is. They even admitted that they interviewed the one look-alike actor.

Grandpa Spielberg saw Ehrenreich at a party - great.

Solo is at 319 mio. $ - I doubt that it will reach 400 mio. $.
