Once again they are assuming that what women look for is what men look for.

I'm college educated and work in finance, and my last LTR didn't go to college. My current 'night friend' is a 26 y/o admin girl, who I think went to college. Thing is I don't give a shit since I like her because she's cute and pleasant.

I have a few 'blue collar' friends (who do just fine financially) and they wouldn't touch a fat/ugly/obnoxious cubicle jockey with a ten foot pole. Not-so-ironically they all got married in their 20s to nice, pleasant, feminine women.

These journalists are doing a huge disservice by only presenting from the feminist POV. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it cannot be emphasized enough that what women look for in a mate is different than what men want. It's so obvious, yet for some reason simply ignored.

The issue is standards. 5/10 average chicks think they deserve 6-figure, 6-pack male models with sense of humor, pecs, kamasutra skills, huge bank account, etc. They're not willing to settle with average 5/10 men who are nice because those guys are "boring." In this age of social media, women are being blasted with images of hunky actors/musicians/pro-athletes so often that they really think they should be aiming at the level of Ben Affleck or Aaron Rodgers. That slightly pudgy good-natured guy who makes $25/hr at the Jiffy lube isn't good enough. A girl could always "do better."

I think a lot of that has to do with the importation of "masculine" culture to women. Society takes the old attitude of men accomplishing things by getting notches, and tries to instill that attitude in women.

So these girls are being conditioned into thinking that they are the ones who are locking people down and accomplishing things by fucking lots of people. The issue with that is they then misconstrue being pumped and dumped with having actually wrapped up a valuable partner through some kind of virtue other than having a warm vagina.

The simple fact is that women, in this "hook-up culture" we have now, are the commodities--not the players fighting over them. The sex drive for men will force them to fuck a greater variety, and we can do so without damaging our psyches in some fundamental way. Not so for women. And women don't get that--they think they did something special by fucking a guy a league above them.

They then take that as a sign that their value is higher than what they think, which circles on back to an even bigger issue--women these days are being trained to construe every shit quality and every random situation as an indication of high value, whether they fucked an alpha, or they're dumb, fat, slutty, lazy, nagging, annoying, anti-social, etc.

The proportions of bangable girls are thinning so much, women's sexual ethics have depleted so drastically, and their sense of worth has become so ridiculously inflated that relationship dead zones are starting to pop up. No one should be surprised that women are complaining about a shortage of men.

8 real reasons girls are single:

1.) They want to be. Women rather bounce from dick to dick in their 20's to "find themselves" and experiment, as they have been told to do. Life's too short to settle down, right? 4.) Too masculine. Women think it's cool now to act like men. Being a sports buff, slamming liquor and beers, and generally being "one of the guys" makes a dude's dick shrink faster than something that shrinks really fast. If we wanted to date dudes then we'd be gay. We want that yin and yang.

5.) You are obsessed with your careers and think your resume matters to men. We don't care about your 4 years at NYU majoring in who-gives-a-shit. We don't care about your study abroad program where you slept with a dozen random foreign men in Western Europe. We don't care about the non-profit you work at in the inner city. We are men not recruiters. We are impressed by how well you treat us, how sweet kind and sexy you are, how reliable and faithful you are to the relationship, how you take care of yourself, and how you act around our friends and family. Your financial and professional success is not something that impresses us romantically about you.

6.) You don't know how to be feminine. Despite what women's liberation and 3rd-wave feminism has taught you - men want women who can cook and clean. We want women who know how to dress and look beautiful and graceful. We want women who know how to act in public. We wan women who know how to stand behind a man and be "in his corner."

7.) You are fat. Average women are just not attractive because they are overweight. Lose weight.

I don't see any real "men" in the photo. Unfortunately many of the younger generation of men dress like the faggots in the background. I've heard guys at my workplace in Los Angeles talk about shit women like like "The Bachelor" and whether Pitch Perfect 1 is better than Pitch Perfect 2.

One of the guys in my office is from LA and he's moving to NYC to live with his fiancé (he met her when he was working in NYC a couple of years ago). All well and good. But unfortunately not an attitude that's realistic in all situations, perhaps unless you do happen to be among that 0.5% NY elite (not one of my lifetime goals). I don't need to carry stuff around with me - that can't fit in my pockets - on a daily basis, but sometimes I do have paperwork or other things that "can't be bought on the way".

I'm also never going to be the every day suit wearing type (working on my laptop at home in jeans or something even more casual and then donning a suit when I decide to go downtown for a stroll or a coffee or to buy my groceries is trying just a bit too hard from my perspective), so I guess that's another nail in the coffin for my alpha fashion style.
Not that I live in a city where I'm competing all that hard against most men's daytime fashion.
