Hey guys. I'm not really sure this is the right place for this thread if it fits more into the "Travel" section but I reviewed this subject and i thought that all in all it can be a "game" method becasue I did several times even when I was not exactly 100% tourist-y with it.

I did read a bit on references regarding "pub crawls" in the forum, but did not see one in the way I'm about to relate to, as perfect set up for hooking up, making out, and sexing down.
It's a bit long, but I'll try to make it brief:

so... the story today is about "Pub Crawls", ye ye...that thing where hostel/travel companies gear up travelers and take them around local pubs/clubs/discos in a popular travel destinations city, give them some drinks (which was paid for) and all and all both show them good and popular city hang out places + gives them some instant social circle.

i'll start off by saying i never really used that thing, even tough i traveled solo quite a bit, until I hit the city of Porto a few weeks ago and felt kinda lonely and in need of some good company.
the late night pub crawl was defiantly a good place to enjoy other travelers company without living in a shitty hostel, but what came on after the group formed and was sent to hit the clubs was some sort of a revelation to me.

In brief, the 30-40 odd group that started parading the streets of Porto actually, gradually along the time lines, turned into a major flirt hub ending with multiple participating dudes kissing participating girls (and possibly carrying on after) when we reached place #3 and #4 (the PC had 4 places in the schedule). on that trip, myself, I heavily smooch Salsa danced a belgian chick, on the brink of making out, who claimed she had a boyfriend so at the time i didn't press foreword into a kiss and more.

the night ended at 6 AM when the club closed & I was so intrigued by what I saw, that I had to go at it the following day for a second time, just to see if I can get some more game, and if other guys keep making out with PC girls...
It was a Saturday & altough the group was big, at that time i failed to "catch a wave" cuz no matter with how many chicks in the group i ran game on, i just couldn't grab ones attention and privacy solid enough.

however....THE EXACT SAME THING happened along the lines of other participating people, in which girls ended the night dancing tight again with boys and making out, and one Canadian girl (i ran game on) grabbed an average non-masculine Australian fellow and just started lip eating him, especially after i gradually saw how she was getting randy in the previous clubs (unfortunately, i probably was not her taste...)


By analyzing it, the thing that caught my mind so much, was that this sense of social circle-ness where it is so easy to talk and to develop rapport as fellow travelers mixes with the gradual place shifting (as said, at Porto it was 4 places a night) fueled by the alchohol that everybody's there to consume.

I had to test it again, so I went on a 3rd time, at a weeknight. this time meeting a group of 20 dudes and only 2 portugesse chicks from Lisbon.........
I was starting aggressive from the get go, because of the horrible ratio so I put my game up and took private one of those girls and smooched danced this girl all through the night and her student friend was getting hot too and at club #3 started making out with a fellow Canadian I was running wing game with...

unfortunately that girl flaked on the 4th venue, probably because she tried to get her friend out there from that Canadian guy. she told me that this little kissing machine of a friend dof hers has a boyfriend back home at lisbon and she don't want her to do any "funny stuff".
(fuck that shit)

and that was that, cuz I left the city the following day.

To be honest, I've yet to try other pub crawls in other cities
but i have the feeling this sequel repeats itself in every place around the world weather it be Porto, Budapest or Prague.

it seems like 100% of the times, at least one couple makes out (something that can lead into same night sex) so it can actually be a neat strategy: staying in one place and joining up those PC's for a few euros a night, and get the game on.

I think it's kinda similar to guys signing up to Couch Surfing so they can host chicks and bang them, but in this case u can get really solid talent, especially in the weekends of girls from all over the plant.

Did anybody here have any similar experience with this, or maybe something he can share about it?

I just bumped in here because when I read "pub crawl", was almost 100% sure it was about my Portugal...
I feel sorry that in the city of Porto, who not so many years ago had a vibrating night life, with good clubs around the riverside, with well dressed and cute girls, now also hosts this kind of venues that some years ago started to flood Lisbon nights. For me these pub crawls look like a procession of ridiculous and sad figures, and never saw anything above a 6 in these.
I went out in Porto last time a year ago, and I felt strangely the same vibe has in Lisbon, a real disappointment. I guess definitively Ryanair and Easyjet destroy good cities. Portugal nightlife is officially dead.

Sorry not beeing able to help you on your questions, I just had to throw this outburst.

I've been on a few pub crawls, and they can be good but the quality and ratio really varies. You also have to account for sometimes unbreakable social circles and couples that sometimes go on those things. I have a feeling the return is not worth going on them, but I'm sure some guys here have had success anyway.

well, my experience was a bit different.
i saw a lot of nice 7-8 Porto girls, but kind of more on the hipster side of the map.
maybe i'm just a sucker for Portuguese accent, i dunno....

in regards to the tourists that come to the pub crawls.
they had good quality too, not rare to see some nice smoking curvy and blonde college student traveling girl.

in the weekends the galeria de paris is quite packed with hotties and you can always find next to it small bars with good music not flooded with tourists too but with more locals. during the week it's indeed more relaxed.

Pub Crawls are gold for the cool composed gamesman. Aka, don't get ridiculously shitfaced like everyone else, play cool with all the girls and by the end of the night you will have your pick of at least 2-3 girls, regardless of ratio.

I do not understand those pub crawls. You are paying someone to socialize (yes, because in those 3 or 4 venues people pay for their drinks), something you should be doing naturally when going out.

People pay for trainers.
People pay for gyms.
People pay for cooked food.

People pay for a lot of things that they should do on their own, or get for free.

I'm not sure why guys are so amped to down the next dude's thoughts without having something to put in its place.

Rocha i don't think the price matters at all. usually you just pay for the drinks you would have paid anyway.
the crawl give out an instant social circle possibility becasue every person in the PC gang (and most importantly, the girls) would not dis you for starting a chat, as opposed as coming from the cold and approaching any other girl. it's just opens up new doors in that night frame.
and to top that, if there are solo or couple girls traveling, they will get drunk, and probably they will get horny too as the night progresses.

I've decided to keep on testing this thing further, and I'm actually going on a pub crawl tonight at Budapest, let's see if the
game continues here too....

Pub crawls are a great way to get into vibe, have instant social circle and to meet girls. I participated in a few of them:

1. Madrid: This PC was great help on my first solo trip. I met 3 au-pair girls, later drank hot chocolate with them and went out with them the following night. I did not know about game, so never escaladed sadly.
2. Lisbon: great pubcrawl: they take you to a cool club at the end, where I was able to make out with two girls (both not from the PC).
3. Barcelona: shitty pubcrawl, organizers are smelly bums. Not worth it. I made out with a chubby german girl (shame on me).
4. Porto: nice pub crawl (we were 2 guys and 8 girls). Liked that we sat down for drinks first before hitting other venues. One venue they had some holi colors spraying around, ruined my outfit. Fun. I made out with a cute Slovenian girl.
5. Paris: crowd was students and profesionals living in Paris, so no the typical hostel people. I got laid and got my Brazilian flag that night.
6. Belgrade: had a fun night out, it was Halloween and they took us to a costume party. I met a Serbian girl (not from the PC) which I met the following day for the bang.

My advice:
- Go there on time or even a little late: this way you see the crowd. If only guys standing there, don't go. If there is a bachelor party participating, don't go.
- Don't only hit on other participating girls. Use them to get into vibe and hit on girls that you actually like in the club.
- Don't drink too much. There might be the option to pay a little bit more for unlimited beer: don't take that, you want to get laid, not getting drunk cheap with the hostel guys.

YE, that was my "home base". kicking off the first drinks in that little place before going to the 4 sites. been there 3 times, that's what I described in the opening post

You are paying to live in your apartment wherever that is. People shouldn't naturally pay to live anywhere. Humans are meant to live in caves and manmade shelters in the woods. If you take a girl back to your place then she's a prostitute because you're paying rent and the experience isn't free. I don't get your logic about not paying. Who cares if you have to pay to socialize. Most of the best experiences in life cost money.

I agree, also
in a way you always "pay to socialize" becasue you usually meet up with your friends or potential friends
at places that charge money: Restaurants, bars, soccer matches, concerts and so on...

The thing is...nothing is cheaper and unclassy than going in one of those pubcrawls.
Personally I think it is sad for someone to pay to socialize in that kind of meetings. I think it is more funny to discover the places/venues by yourself and have the chance to hook up with all the fauna available than to be circumpsricted to a (relatively) small group of people, altogether like sheep/cattle hopping bar after bar, doing drunk sad figures. I would be ashamed if I would find myself in the middle of one of those things.

It is just a question of style/personality. You guys should do whatever you feel more comfortable with.
I interfered in this thread just because I do not like to see this in the city I live in and in another city I used to love going out (Porto). It is a sign of decay in the nightlife experience, and also in the tourist experience, means the transformation from a cultural city with quality venues, to a stag city with not so quality venues.

I worked for one in buenos aires...we didn't charge a lot, to be honest we didn't really make much in profit but it was fun and did get laid a lot with little work aside from taking a grenade here and there. Was a great way to make nightlife connections too since I got to know a lot of the club/bar managers.

European pub crawls are extremely easy to get laid in. They are generally younger guys and girls who absolutely cannot handle their liquor or are out in the wild for the first time. If you're a more experienced player, go and do it, you'll find some nice 18-22 year old tourist girls looking to get wild. The guys are also young meaning most have absolutely no game whatsoever and usually check out because they get so wasted they just disappearing one by one. One thing I would do is try to make friends with mixed groups and buy shots for the guys and "bro out". They love me, get social value but they eventually disappear and the girls they were with gravitated towards me.

I'd recommend going early, relaxing and drinking and making light banter with as many people during the check-in process. Drink, have fun, be loud and somewhat aggressive, I've gotten laid as early as the first bar on the stop after the check in, no need to wait until the end of the night (actually the later you go, the worst your chances are I think). Go for a quick make out, escalate and bounce. Don't be one who makes out with a girl from bar to bar, just try to get her back to your place as fast as you can. It can really be that easy sometimes.

Depends on how old you look and act. Though some degree of "cool older guy" factor can play into this as well.

If you look older than mid-30s you're probably pushing your luck... unless the women in the group are older too (i.e. late twenties / early 30s).

Pub crawls in the UK with a good friend who has game and you both feed off each other is basically a case of "do not fuck up and you'll get laid" game.

I remember Carnage pub crawls until they got rid of them due to idiots being unable to control their tempers and guts on the streets. You won't get stunners on these but cute 6/7s flock to them in droves and the drinking games can be good if the reps know what they're doing.

As far as foreign pub crawls go I wouldn't know but I would look for those which cater to both sexes and a mix-up of fun requires involvement by girls and guys together. Nothing builds comfort than getting pissed together in a foreign city.
