I'm sitting here near central Moscow, having my first drink of the night, smoking a cigarette, and trying to decide which suit jacket to wear to talk to pretty Russian girls tonight at the club......and watching Canadian news reporters discuss this situation. Surreal.

I've been a member here for something like six years and have met and hung out with Roosh multiple times. The story they're describing couldn't be more twisted or one-sided. They couldn't be more blind to his overall message and objectives. Unbelievable but also not surprising given the state of the Western world. Godspeed to those in Montreal.

If the speech had been cancelled, you'd have the entire mob flashing their unshaved armpits and vaginas claiming victory on Twitter. Why do so many of the protesters frame the debate as "Roosh V advocates rape vs. we advocate consent?" Roosh's speech is about a bigger topic but he began writing about ways to get women to agree to have sex with you. If consent wasn't important none of that would be necessary.

Maybe they don't understand that his satirical piece was just that, satirical. I don't think this is a good explanation. They're misguided but not (all) stupid.

Maybe they know it was satirical, but think other people won't read it for themselves to check so they just go with what they want it to mean. Free attention for them.

Maybe they know it was satirical, but the rest of his writing on how to be successful with women is offensive to their worldview about how relations between men and women are fundamentally antagonistic. In this case any slander is acceptable as long as it's done for the cause.

The second and third are probably both in play.

It's unbelievable how emotionally charged and short sighted they are - instead of speaking to 40 men, he's literally been put in front of tens of millions. Even if his speech gets cancelled, he gets arrested, goes to jail and gets kicked out of the country, he still wins. Forum membership is going to surge next month and book sales will blow up. He has a surprising amount of support on Twitter, even from women. Thousands more men are going to find this place. This is a million dollars worth of free exposure and they don't even see it.
