RE: The 2015 Canadian Federal Election Thread
its awesome that CTV and CBC has live streams for Canadians abroad.

So it looks like libs won and heading for a Majority.

Any idea on what kind of an effect this would have on the CAD? Are they cutting oil/gas production? Where do they stand on foreigners buying condos in Toronto to get residence status.

I have property that I rent out, the low CAD has hurt me. I plan on selling everything off by end of next year as I am settled down here.

My dad already lived through one Trudeau government. Basically the era when Canada castrated itself.

Pretty sure he'll be ranting that he's going to repeal his Canadian citizenship and sell his Canadian assets.

Well he is not wrong. The first Trudeau created and initiated a lot of the policies that have screwed over and emasculated men over the last four decades.

Now it's the second coming. I feel like more Canadian men will be finding their way to these parts of the internet the longer Justin is in power.

At the very least, new policies and laws will be introduced into Canada that have an adverse effect on men's rights.

I actually await the coming freak show with morbid glee. But with one caveat, its more or less written into stone now that to have a traditional family life in Canada is impossible. The institutions will become even more SJW friendly. Thank god I still have the Philippines and Poland (but only for a few more years)

Someone just FHRITP'ed the CBC feed. It was dead silent as they were cutting to someone on the ground so it came through real loud and clear... yikes.

Thanks for the link, turned it on just in time for someone to drop a random FHRITP on the live feed from the BC polls.

Maybe a slight decline in TO or Vancouver if the Chinese market doesn't smarten up, but even then those rich enough to buy abroad aren't gonna be cash strapped from a market decline.

IMO Canada is way to regulated and controlled to have anything happen similar to the US housing crash. Though I know there were more behind the scene and some corrupt stuff going on, the fact that one could get a 40 year mortgage with 3% down is just a recipe for disaster.

If Canada has a housing crash it will usher in EU/Greek style austerity vs. US style stock market collapse.

Why Doc Howard?

Here is why, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_Mor...orporation Canadian mortage insurance is backed by a public corporation, not private insurance. If the real estate market goes tits up and people start defaulting...banks don't give a shit, they will get paid out regardless by the government...the government will cover that bill by jacking up taxes and cutting services.

In the USA the mortage fallout led to financial collapse and banks begging for government money. In Canada, the banks don't have to beg for the money, they just need to pull out the contract.

PS - New federal liberal government will make room for Premier Wynne when she is done in Ontario after that total ball licking routine she pulled with the pension plan and holding ontario voters hostage.

It looks like we have finally got rid of the worst Prime Minister in Canadian history.

He was pretty shit. 9 years in power and 5 years in a majority government, yet we still have gay marriage, human right (kangaroo) commission courts, abortion on demand at any term, sjws controlling government institutions, the CBC still exists and rampant deviancy/depravity in all corners of society.

But sjw bootlickers, always love a good ramming by a Trudeau policy.

No, I mean Harper and I am an Albertan. Talking to many PC insiders over the years before I left Canada, the problem is Harper. The mass resignations in the past year of party insiders is not a coincidence.

I think Harper was okay but no Prime Minister in Canada is going to win running against gay marriage or abortion. Those things simply don't register here, even for real conservatives. Conservatism in Canada will always be defined by fiscal conservatism and social liberalism.

Harper had a good run with nearly 10 years in power and did okay most things considered. I just didn't like his big prisons, war on drugs, and an increase in police surveillance policies.

I definitely didn't want Trudeau to win and certainly didn't want him to win a majority but I also don't think he's going to be as bad as many think. Only time will tell though.

Not only that but he withheld prostitution laws that were struck down by the courts. Striking down those laws would really help the situation, specifically in the Toronto area where a lot of south Asian and middle eastern men live.

Looking back at it Harper could have been way more popular with a softer approach on drugs (especially weed) and prostitution especially because most Canadians support those positions. Maybe even could have won again.

Well, it looks like a Liberal Majority.

I confess that I am largely unfamiliar with Canada's political climate but what I have gathered about the Liberal party does not bode well.

First, we have Harper laying the smackdown over the niqab.

But what really worries me is the cronyism in their relationship with the Chinese community.
http://www.scmp.com/news/world/article/1...n-suspect#

When China wants somebody for fraudulence, that's a bad sign.

And here is the Tru-Youth. Who feature fairly prominently in the story. Notice any similarities among those pictured?

Our autocratic PM Harper just resigned as leader of the Conservative party, but didn't have the balls to announce it in his speech.

Harper is or was terrible, but the worst PM is still Mulroney. The bribes, the shady deals and he walked free with that smug look on his face.

In the end, they are all a bunch of rich boys who cater to the powers that run this country.

Do not hold your breath, if you think Trudeau can turn this ship around.

Hold on to that thought, the dirt on Harper hasn't made it's way out yet. Most party insiders were wary of the PMO. Now that Harper has resigned I wouldn't be surprised that a line has already formed to exact revenge. Most of the posters on this thread don't realize how many current and former PC MP's despise Harper.

RE: The 2015 Canadian Federal Election Thread
Not one important issue was brought up in this record long campaign.

The Provinces Health care deal was never brought up.

Also, neither was:

Keystone

The record defecits

Canadian housing mess

None of these big dog items were touched and yet Canadians give the keys agian to a party that has no plan. The wise choice would be a minority to force deal making.. Oh well...*Google's countries with best Canadian Visa situations*

I don't remember what thread it was but I remember stati g that the media would play games to push Trudeau in. They want him in as it would be 4 hears of material for them to spew out all over the media. Young girls will get tingles, and old women will gush over the old Trudeau days and the possible correlation. The media will attempt to make him look like a King.
