RE: The 2015 Canadian Federal Election Thread
My riding is NDP to the core. The Liberals and Green party are almost on par. The Cons are about double the Libs and Greens, but nowhere near the NDP. If my electoral district gets split up like it should, it would be a different story. Half my riding is small business and half is aging boomers sitting on $billions of real estate.
Its also traditionally Latin, with a large percentage of second generation Chinese. The Chinese go for the vote where it helps business, and their MLA's are tireless always out walking around, talking to business owners and being an excellent presence in the neighborhoods.
I used to vote Liberal under Chretien. Then reluctantly went over to Harper, and while he has not completely won me over I do give him a lot more credit than most people here. Its odd, even the most level headed men I know get all up yelling Fuck Harper. When questioned, they have no real reason it seems. Mumble something about lakes and rivers, C-51 or something.
Politics does not seem to effect me much either way, but I am a patriot and like nothing more than to see a strong, balanced Canada. I will admit a lot of what I am seeing lately, from the now all out attack of the CBC against anything not aligned with the left, to entitled and spoiled citizens making a huge fuss over nothing. Perhaps an economic retardation after an NDP win and then a long 15 year recovery a la BC is not the worst thing to happen.

RE: The 2015 Canadian Federal Election Thread
I saw some portions of the debate.
Harper used the same federal statistics as usual to "prove" he helped the economy. He had the presence and personality of tapioca pudding. I detest Bill C-51 but the only party that will attempt to revoke it (good luck in the likely minority government we will get again) is the NDP. The Conservatives are the only party that have a platform somewhat based in reality. They want to expand government the least and are the only party that doesn't seem to want to perform a jihad against small businesses. Their fiscal performance is the closest we will get to a surplus and they are the only party that aren't against firearms owners.
Mulcair resorted to populism and stayed staunchly to the "center-left". He failed to define his carbon tax scheme and provide numbers. He sounds moderate now but the " Leap Manifesto" is endorsed by an alarming amount of NDP party members and is essentially pushing for climate communism. ( National Post Editorial) I get the feeling this is a conjob similar to the first Obama presidential campaign. Most NDP party members are outright socialists who want to vastly expand government spending and have no awareness of how the economy actually functions. Judging by how much pandering Mulclair is doing on the campaign I get the feeling he is completely full of shit in regards to what he would actually do once elected given he has spent the majority of his career as a bureaucrat in Quebec.
Trudeau had no idea what he was doing and resorted to constant interruptions. He looked liked a freshman who took political science and thinks he can change the world with SJW logic. The legalization push is going to result in cannabis being taxed and restricted to big business. The liquor control boards you see in provinces would probably end up controlling the industry. The Liberal party's extreme leftism will destroy small businesses in Canada. If you see what the Liberals have done in Ontario over the past 12 years you will see that they are insane and a Liberal federal government would be horrible for the country at this point.
Honestly all the candidates are crap. Given that Trudeau and Mulcair are so left leaning I feel pigeon holed into voting conservative again.
The Conservatives are the duck with a crippled wing in a flock of lobotomized ducks. It is a shame that Canadian Politics is quickly becoming similar to the dichotomy that exists south of the border.

I like that this site has a fairly big tent of political beliefs. But how does one vote for the NDP and a become member of this forum? It's kind of mind boggling.
I mean sure, the conservatives are basically liberals only 10 years behind.
But the NDP (and likeminded parties, like Liberals) actively promote and spread all the policies/laws that the whole neomasculinity movement is against.
No offense, but what the hell are you doing here?
Unless your a one issue voter such as, I like the NDPs innate hatred of Corporations. But that's were my interest ends.

Simply because they consider that a lesser evil. It's false that if you vote for a party, it's because you agree with their policies. You might just feel particularly strongly about one policy. This is why I think that if you're going to have democracy, at least make it Proportional Vote, so people can choose very specific parties that suit them, or have more direct democracy.
I think the primary reason some members of the forum still have a 'foot in the left' is because of class reasons. They see voting for the left party worth the severe social collateral damage, because the idea of doing down the rich and helping the poor (especially when it might directly affect their wallet) is so appealing to them. I just wish people would see that the rich have absolutely never been dispossessed because of an electoral vote (they vote every day with their lobbyists), and that the long-term effects of 'help the poor/working-man' laws are the opposite of any immediate short-term personal benefit. If we could do that we could stop using silly terms like 'SJW', 'cultural marxist' and bunches of slash-characters, instead of the plain term 'leftist'.

If the NDP was in power across the board, then the progressive Brave New World would be upon us in ten years.
I could be missing something though, are you one of those doomsday types that want to rush the peak societal freak show in the hopes of a collapse and restructuring? I'll get that, but not a typical NDP voter on a forum like this.
At a NDP gathering, you'd be the first they'd crucify. (To be fair Tories would do the same, but with less glee in their eyes, probably less sadistically as well and even believe some of our neomasculine ideas at that)
Yeah I agree about the average NDP voter carrying a lot of misgivings and having a mindset shaped by social engineering, but there is a lot of that too with Conservatives, to which you might be blind because all you see is that liberal archetype as being 100% of the problem. A lot of Harper's cabinet and inner circle are closeted homos, his wife had a tryst with a RCMP female officer with whom she moved for a while, and even Harper himself might have had a relationship with his boy Novak, and that's just for starts...
Voter suppression fraud, C-51/police state, TPP secret clauses/de-industrialization/offshoring of the Canadian industry, neocons like Frum, Levant or the Aspers in charge of foreign policy: those are just some of the reasons real red pillers would want to get rid of Harper.
