I've met two in particular (one through work, another through extended social circle) that are definitely 30 y/o virgins. Sad thing is, their friends are of no help. Not surprisingly, they always tell them how awesome they are.

Both of them have ridiculous standards, although part of me thinks it's a cover in that they subconsciously know that they are ridiculous and price themselves out of the game completely to avoid rejection. Both come from families with money, and like many women they think this makes them attractive, confusing what women like with what men like. Whereas money is always a huge consideration for women, most men will go with the attractive woman regardless of her family background.

Point is, obviously, that the whole fat pride is self defeating. Obese women can wear it like a badge of honor, but at the end of the day there is a reason why the marriage rate is declining, and it's not because men are unwilling to commit or 'man up'. It's because there are so many unmarriageable women. And it's not just because there are so many fat, unattractive women. A lot of them have severe behavioral issues. But the prevalence of so many fat women surely doesn't help.

I'll give this woman credit for righting the wrong. But it's sad that we've reached this point as a society where this is a good thing, considering being so fat is something she never should've been in the first place.

Whoever is preaching the gospel of "positive body image" to little girls is setting them up for a lifetime of disappointment and dinner dates with their feline friends.

Good for her. At least now she has a much better chance of both attracting and actually holding onto quality men.

The Anglosphere would be a much happier place for both men and women if women just made the effort to keep themselves within the acceptable weight range.

The thing is, for the vast majority of women today, fatness IS just another behavioral issue. The problem with women today is that men are prevented from leading them while women are bombarded with conflicting messages regarding careers, family, sex, etc. so the net result of the vast majority of female behavior is dysfunction. Fatness is just one of many behavioral disorders caused by our dysfunctional society.

Shit man, if I remember correctly it used to be the freshman 5 at college then it was the freshman 15 and now it's like the freshman 30 or 40. When I was an RA in college of an all freshman dorm I got to witness these 18 year old chicks coming in with their somewhat athletic bodies and have them balloon up into pudgy little marshmallows because they couldn't exercise any discipline at the cafeteria (which was required to have in order to live at the dorms, it's almost like the school wanted girls to get fat).

I agree with the attention whoring, but you're leaving out an important part. Women are the best at "shaming" other women into losing weight. The more fatties that shed pounds the less of an excuse for the rest to not follow suit. Half the reason chicks are skinny in Asia is because their friends tell them they're getting fat the second they gain an 1/8th of a kilogram.

This girl is highly motivated, great I applaud her, now she knows what is possible. But she is being driven by an external motivation not an internal one. She is doing it for herself but only because she wants to be attractive to men. She isn't doing it for her own health benefits (I am probably exaggerating here). Once she gets what she wants, maybe her motivation is gone and then...

I like a lot of the points made in the article:

1) Consistency with fitness: Often there's too much paralysis by analysis with regard to doing the right routine, meal timing, timing between sets, carb frontloading, taking this supplement, etc... This shit is about 10% of your fitness potential. The other 90% (and the first 90%) is simply showing up, doing something within reason of a good workout, and basic dietary awareness on a consistent basis.

2) She was really honest with herself, both about her fears and the reality of how the world works. There isn't a more direct path to success. Humility IS the "red pill" as people like to call it. Not just of how the world works but how YOU work as a person. People have different fears, either naturally or by something that occurred within their life. There's no use trying to hid this from yourself as you'll never grow as a person. As a small aside, I think, rather unfortunately, that if a male was the subject of the article saying the same shit, it would be largely ignored at best or demonized at worst. Reality is reality regardless of the mouthpiece discussing it.
