For those who dont know who the guy is...




Apparently he released a statement:
"First, yes this is really me and yes I am transgender. Second, one does not "become" transgender you are or you aren't. I have known this since I was five years old and it has been a very heavy burden to carry. I never asked for nor did I want this. For most of my life I would have given anything to not feel the way I do and at one point it drove me to consider suicide. Now I am perfectly comfortable with who I am and have been very open about this for many years. I told Wendler and Dave Tate at Elitefts when I first signed on and they were and still are very supportive of me as are nearly all of my close friends which comprise the majority of the top lifters in the sport. Ed Coan even recently reached out to me to offer his support.

At this point I do live my life in both genders but I am still undecided about whether or not to fully transition to living as a female full time. It would solve many of the most difficult issues I have struggled with but would also be a huge sacrifice as I would have to give up much of what I have worked so hard for. I also have three amazing sons that fully support whatever decision I make but I feel that I need to be there for them as I am at least until they're adults even if it means a great deal of sacrifice for myself.

One thing that I am 100% certain of is that if I do eventually decide to transition I would never compete in powerlifting again. I feel that would be a no-win situation and I would never want to do anything that would reflect negatively on the transgender or powerlifting communities.

B. Notice the guilt trip on the kids - if it wasn't for them, he could live the life he wants. Followed by the pat on the back - he sacrifices his happiness for them. With all of the guilt and self-congratulations, he definitely sounds like a woman.

Somebody should point him towards the article that elaborates on the difference between the whole "being a woman" fetish and being legitimately transsexual. Since he's (apparently) not exclusively gay it would lead me to believe he is not an actual transsexual.

Dammit, that was the one thing I was hoping for. "Marsha Kroc" would set untouchable female world records.

...which now makes me think, the most likely solution is going to be people lobbying for a category of sport or records for "non gendered"...aka the olympics will have men's powerlifting, women's powerlifting and "?" powerlifting.

Also, given Kroc's interviews he never seems like an asshole (for a transgender asshole see Brianna Wu) and it seems like that sentiment carries over to this thing as well, waiting until his kids are adults etc. It just seems like he wants to chop off his dick, put on a dress and fade into the darkness after his kids are raised. Humility like that goes a long way to keeping outsider "outrage" at bay and I wish more freaks took this approach vs. demanding pride parades, equal rights, special bathrooms etc.

His parents (conservative, church goers, still married to this day traditional) didn't encourage it, it was just literally what he gravitated to when given the choice. He never deviated on the path to being 'fabulous'. So yes, it can happen.

I remember watching him on an interview saying that a girl snatched a muscle mag from him as a kid and mocking him saying he couldnt never be like that because he used to be so skinny and weak.

I would have expected the news matt kroc ends up on a wheelchair for life before this.

Given the amount of focus and dedication that these athletes need to have in order to become world class level athletes (see Bruce jenner) makes me wonder about the rate of mental illness among them.

What are personal realities?

In their case, struggling with 'being good parents' but having messed up kids (I say messed up but the kids (now adults) have good values aside from the gayness). I call it a 'personal reality' because they are the only ones that punish themselves for it...there is no 'penalty' in america for being gay anymore unlike if your child grew up to be a fat tub of lard, parents might feel ashamed and watch their kid die early.

There might be something to that. There is no way he got like that without help or boosting. It's possible but I doubt he built up like that without raising his T. I would agree, Kroc seems like a guy that was pushed alot and internalized it. He could have turned into a mass school shooter. You guys may know people like this, I do, they are built intimidating dudes but are the nicest dudes, almost naively/white knight nice if they drop the tough guy shields. They are amazing friends but one too many run ins with someone that busts up their trusting side sends them off the rails to crazy town. (Most of the time girlfriends do this to them)

The dudes that I know like this that come to mind have attempted suicide, gone into seclusion/depression, developed drinking problems or gone 'pseudo punisher' and all of a sudden gone into the military or police to punish all of the bad people.

A good classic example is Mike Tyson, he's got the internal personality where he'd rather be writing poetry and raising pigeons but externally he honed himself into 'the boxer' to destroy anyone who even thought about fucking with him. Kroc might be an even more extreme version.

Elite bodybuilding isn't exactly full of stable, mentally healthy individuals. They're almost all seeking acknowledgement and recognition from society to make up for their perceived inadequacies (usually from childhood) and let's face it, being a woman is now prized above even the most "perfect" masculine appearance.

Even being a fake woman has the entire establishment swooning and bending over backwards to congratulate you for your courage.

Simply being conservative, church goes and still married to this day traditional does not mean they know how to raise a kid. For you or they could know uncle jim-bob could have molested the two when the parents went out for a weekend bed-n-breakfast getaway.

Shit, a guy I know who now teaches University Math courses told me how his female babysitter coerced him (raped i guess) into having sex when he was sub 10 years old or so. And yeah, dudes gay.

I'm willing to bet Matt was abused as a child, and become a bodybuilder to fight his inner demons that were created because of that.

I agree. When I was younger I used to think bodybuilders must be bastions of confidence and really were the pinnacle of male achievement. I looked up to them so much as role models, always wishing I could be more like them.

When I grew up, I spent more and more time in bodybuilding and MMA gyms. Now I assume most bodybuilders, male and female, have serious mental health issues. A lot that I have met have eating disorders, dysmorphia, self-hatred, depression, etc. I mean I know a lot of people in general have mental health problems, but in the niche demographic of strength athletes it really seems to attract some damaged individuals.

I didn't really understand what a tranny was until a few years ago. It was just one of those words when I heard mention I would nod my head or laugh with everyone like I knew what they were talking about and then go on with my day.


I wish I still didn't understand the concept. I wish our society was normal and this stuff wasn't becoming so "mainstream".

That's because lifting is an outlet. For three seconds you get to lift the weight of this shitty fucking world off your shoulders, rep after rep, day after day.

I just assume everyone I meet has mental issues. I don't really have any friends that are considered 'normal'. I know I'm not.
