What a stupid video.

She can't legally fight a man in any promotion. They can't have the fight, end of story. There is no point trying to breakdown Ronda's words. This is as stupid as arguing why batman won't fight superman in a fight.

Here's a novel idea - why don't we get Lebron James to put on pads and play defensive tackle for the Cleveland browns?

I'm a fan of Lawrence Kenshin's fight analysis breakdowns on youtube.

Anyway, his latest upload features Lucia Rijke, a female Dutch kickboxer and boxing champion. She's considered by many experts, including UFC president Dana White, as the greatest female striker of all time.

She actually fought an exhibition bout against Somchai Jaidee, an unknown male Muay Thai fighter. She fought with heart and some skill but its clear she could not match Somchai's speed and power.

She manages to last until the early part of the second round until she gets knocked out. Here's the video.

As to Rousey v Mayweather, its all speculation as it will never happen. I did BJJ for about a year and a half. I know that a highly skilled grappler can negate the size and strength advantages of a larger opponent who lacks grappling training. So I feel that if Rousey got within grappling range she could potentially submit him.

Regarding the punch force comparison at 1:05. The man throws a punch - then the video is conveniently cut so you don't see the part where the woman gets a running start...same for punching the fat black guy. That whole show was such BS.

UFC is dying when there top star is a woman.

This idea is an insult to boxing and Mayweather.

I agree. UFC has been in decline since TUF left Spike. There hasn't been a good season of that show since and PPV revenue started falling.

UFC has been going down a downward path for a while now. It has mostly been because of the management company Zuffa and Mr dumbass aka Dana white. It doesn't help that joe rogan and company are praising her like she's a god. There are more fight divisions that need more promotion than her , like the flyweight division. I also think even though he is smaller mighty mouse would wreck ronda

The UFC lost Jon Jones to misbehavior, and has had a bit of trouble with stars like Aldo, Weidman, Pettis being sidelined with injury and thus not able to rack up long strings of consistent victories like GSP and Anderson Silva. Maybe they are going a bit overboard promoting Rousey, but they still have a lot of great, exciting fighters. FAR from dying.

RE: Rousey Vs Mayweather
^ It jumped the shark years ago.

First there was Gracie, Shamrock and Severin. It was new and badass then.

Then we had Liddell, Couture, Rampage and Tito Ortiz.

Brock Lesnar gave it a spike. Anderson Silva was exciting until he broke his leg. GSP had a huge following, but lost his last fight which was given to him.

Since then it has been on a downward spiral.

Same could be said about Boxing, but it has been around for over a century.

UFC 189 was the best main card in UFC history

I don't think its dying... I don't hear of UFC having a hard time selling tickets to shows or selling PPVs.... I haven't herd of a mass of fighters leaving the organization to go fight in the tough man competitions.

I am however getting sick of hearing about Rousey and Mayweather.

They have though. After years of steady growth it leveled off after TUF left Spike - then tanked last year. It's rebounded this year thanks to setting up better cards but that can't last given how thin a lot of weight classes are.

Even after having the "Best card in UFC history", they still aren't at 2010 levels and nowhere near 2010 revenue.

Damn 2014 was rough.... I guess all the injures before big fights really hurt.

Its not putting out 2010 numbers anymore but its not fading away to obscurity.

I was a much bigger fan during the Chuck Liddell era.. but theres still enough interesting match ups to keep me watching.

RE: Rousey Vs Mayweather
Ronda Rousey says she would beat Floyd Mayweather in 'no-rules' fight

Quote:Ronda Rousey has escalated her public war of words with Floyd Mayweather by saying she would beat him in a ‘no-rules’ fight.

“Floyd is one of the best boxers of all time,” Rousey wrote during a Reddit Ask Me Anything session. “He would definitely beat me in a boxing match. I unfortunately don’t get into ‘matches.’ I fight for a living.

“In a no-rules fight, I believe I can beat anyone on this planet,” she said. “Boxing is a sweet science with strict rules that I respect very much and aspire every day to improve at. But you said ruleless fight, and that’s my honest answer.”

Rousey is the undefeated UFC female bantamweight champion and was named the female athlete of the year at this year’s ESPYs. She was angered in July 2014 when Mayweather claimed he didn’t know who she was, something Rousey said was untrue. “He was running against me for Best Fighter that year, and he had signed MMA fighters, so his feigned ignorance was meant to really be a snarky remark to me,” she said at the time.

In an interview with the Guardian on Monday, another UFC champion, Conor McGregor, expressed similar sentiments to Rousey. “In a real fight I would dismantle [Mayweather] in seconds,” said McGregor. “Ronda would dismantle him in seconds – 100%.

“When you don’t know how to grapple you don’t stand a chance. For us, it’s like playing with a baby. People who don’t understand the sport cannot understand how vulnerable they are. There are always clinches and Ronda is a judo Olympian. She would throw Floyd on his head in a second. Me? I would knock him out. Cold.”

Rousey also referred to a potential fight with Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino during the Reddit discussion. “The delay is all about money, not her weight. She made 145 pumped full of steroids,” wrote Rousey. “She can healthily make 135 without them. Her shows that she headlines lose thousands of dollars, and the majority of the tickets are given away because no one will buy them. She needs me.

“So pretty much we’re waiting for her to realize that she needs to fight me before I retire or she’ll never have enough money to retire. I would like me kicking her ass be my retirement fight but whether she steps up or not I’ll walk away undefeated and happily ever after regardless.”

From the comments below the article:

Quote:PhunckyTimes

She'd be rendered unconscious by the time she got within 3 feet of Floyd.

These dopey UFC assertions are founded on the strange idea that a boxer is going to stand there and allow a MMA fighter to put their hands on them.

That clown McGregor would be off to hospital with his jaw in pieces and sucking soup through a straw for the following month if he tried.

The real point though is can these MMA fighters stop using Floyd as a vehicle to run their mouths off and gain publicity? They should stand or fall by what they do in their own sport. The lot of them should just shut the fuck up and fight. You dont hear guys like Georges St Pierre running his mouth off every 10 seconds

Quote:PhunckyTimes

So a boxer would just stand there whistling while the MMA fighter dives at their feet would they? Utter bollocks.

The boxer would drop to a knee and uppercut the MMA fighter into the middle of next week. A boxer with a boxer's movement, especially one like Floyd will not allow a MMA fighter to just dive at his feet and get him off his feet. No chance.

If boxing skills are so irrelevant to MMA fighters why is it that almost all of them begin a fight by looking to box before they look for takedowns or kicks? I watch both sports and to act as though boxing skills are meaningless is complete nonsense.

The problem with the UFC is that all the fighters are just identikits really; there is so little variation in how they go about their business.

Also, and I know this is blasphemy to Americans, but wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu just isn't that interesting to the majority of people. People have and always will want to see knockouts.

Best card in UFC history doesn't even crack the top 10 in Pride history.

Too many events, too little top level fighters.

If that was her direct quote, given seriously and with carefully chosen words, then Rousey either believes her own press or she's been sniffing a few too many smelling salts.

MMA does not represent real life, any more than boxing does. Real life is the only real 'no rules' setting, and even then there are laws to discourage people from getting into ruleless fights. Anyone well-trained in a combat art (sporting generally, but other arts included) fully understands that and avoids situations where there are no rules and no way of controlling the confrontation. Indeed half the screaming of the SJWsphere over the past week or so is for the patriarchy to install rules in the field of gender, because in that 'no rules' setting, women can't compete with men. Not physically or intellectually.

That aside, given Rousey's explicit suggestion she can beat anyone in the world in a ruleless fight, a truly ruleless fight, I have full confidence I could beat Rousey in such a fight, without a second of martial arts training.

I can even predict the course of the fight.

The fight would go as follows:

1. Bell rings.
2. I pull out the loaded gun I've brought along.
3. I aim the loaded gun at the other person in the ring.
4. I pull the trigger on said loaded gun.
5. The trained athlete, shit out of an Olympic judo champion's vagina presumably with boxing gloves on, who says she can take anyone on the planet in a ruleless fight, hits the floor bleeding from a penetrating wound, goes into shock a second or two later, and possibly dies on the way to the hospital.

Live stream of fight:

Police officers participate daily in 'ruleless fights'. That's why police bring fucking guns along to said ruleless fights.

I am so sick of the Roussey worship. Please Mayweather, fight her and put her in her place so we can end this fairy tale of wannabe amazonian women.

It would be beautiful for her to get a KO on the first round. Anything to shut her up.

Reading up on it and it seems that she never pressed charges. She just posted to Instagram so he could be charged in the always justice-filled court of public opinion. Not a fan of Rousey, but can't really knock her for dating a guy accused of domestic violence when the guy's wife doesn't press charges and won't answer if the guy is legally separated from her.

Alleged wife beater.

His wife is also attention whoring all over social media instead of filing a police report as she should if he did beat her.

Her bruises are also very weak looking. Either they are nearly healed, or however she got them was not very forceful. Those aren't the bruises of a man beating his wife.

Rousey's claims today are that she makes more than Floyd. Her networth is around $5 million. Floyd's is well over $400 million. Jesus.
