That guy has 50 pounds and half a foot on her. I wouldn't expect any other result, whether it's man v. woman or man v. man.

The same thing would happen to Floyd against a boxer of that size.

One of the main reasons people are so obsessed with Floyd vs. Rousey is that they're basically the same size. Floyd would still win, but it would be more "fair" from a weight class perspective.

Its not going to be a popular opinion here but I think it a MMA fight Rhonda would beat Floyd via submission. She could shoot on Floyd and throw him to the ground where he would be totally out of his element and she would armbar him....

Now if Its another man trained in MMA (wrestling, judo, BJJ) then I wouldn't be so sure...

RE: Rousey Vs Mayweather
This is a triple bet match. Ronda needs a takedown and Floyd would need just a punch.
I just do not see why would Floyd take such a match, if he wins it would.be no big deal, after he was fighting a woman, if he looses it will be a epic loss of one of the biggest boxers of all time against a woman.
So it is a loose:loose matchup for him.

As for the video of Rhonda grappling with Mousassi, she is manhandled not only because of the size but also.because of strenght and technique. In grappling sports like BJJ or Judo everyone spars with everyone from all sizes. And when is two men with similar technique, sure the big one will win most of times, but will nlt manhandle the other guy. There is even absolute weight competition in BJJ (gi or nogi) where sometimes small guys get the gold.

In fairness to Rhonda, she's 5'7" and fights at 135. Gegard is 6'1" and fights at 205. I dislike you-go-gurrlism as much as the next man, but Rousey is legit.

She said she could beat Cain Velasquez, who's 6'1" and fights at 241. Rousey's skills are legit...so long as she's fighting female fighters.

You've got to be joking.

Floyd is an elite level male athlete. His speed and footwork would make him almost impossible to get hold of, full stop, let alone by a woman.

She isn't fast enough or strong enough to shoot him to the floor.

I've spent a lot of time in the company of "elite female fighters" whilst they train. They are all pretty rubbish to be honest, when compared objectively to men

Right, she's legit against female fighters or males who don't know how to fight. If she could actually take on male fighters she wouldn't be making womanish excuses about ducking Fallon Fox.

RE: Rousey Vs Mayweather
I'm bored of all this macho bullshit about the champion of women fighting men. It is 2015 and you want to say a woman from this era is more brutal and unforgivably physical compared to women over the thousands of years of human conflict? Fucking please.

Three things in war; Land, money and women. Nowhere in history does it mention men being scared of women because they would and could kill them. They did plenty of it through history.

Only in this pussified era where the real violence of men is hidden by censorship, mixed words and ignorance would serious talk about a woman, no matter how good she is, be given the time of day in order to fight a man for big bucks on prime time TV.

Whoever these people, they are have something to gain from it.

That a female Olympic judo champion can take out a guy with no judo training only proves the fact that women need a decade's headstart on a man in order to even keep up with him.

And that's in a stylised combat environment where there are rules designed so said women don't get smashed to the floor in the first three seconds by a dude's raw strength.

To me, women proved their inferiority for combat in the real world the day that dude took out a female Secret Service agent at the White House and kept on going. That agent had presumably been given all the weapons and training needed, and presumably had (as all Secret Service agents) a no-shit willingness to take a bullet or put her body on the line for the President ... and a mentally unbalanced putz with no training and no warning still put her flat out on the ground.

You can see the same in hospitals. Women demanding the same opportunities as men, they are being used as orderlies or patient support assistants. As a result, security officers at hospitals are getting fucking run off their feet because -- unlike the big, beefy male orderlies who used to populate our wards -- the women are woefully old and not physically ready to take on a dude who doesn't like uniforms (the orderly's uniform often being the first thing said dude sees when he hits the hospital).

She won the bronze at the Olympics, but we won't see a male-female bout because she'd never agree to it...she knows perfectly well that she'd get embarrassed by any competent male fighter. Her brand depends on talking smack about male champions while avoiding ever having to face them (except on movie sets).

RE: Rousey Vs Mayweather
Don't get it twisted... I dont think a average woman or even a woman with minimal to advanced combat sports training could beat a average man. I'm not even that big of a fan Rhondas.. but she is one of the baddest bitches on the planet and I think she would have her way with a guy that only knows boxing...

My BBJ instructor was a purple belt and around 5"6 and around 130lbs.... and he just would straight fuck up dudes 6"2 200+ pounds that didn't know jiu jitsu. Judo and BJJ are designed for smaller weaker fighters to be able to beat stronger bigger fighters... An I think Rhonda would submit Floyd in MMA fight... An I am entitled (not just cause I am white and American) to that opinion .

I also don't think there is any other woman in the UFC that would beat Floyd.. its not like I have a list of girls I think could beat up guys. The only one that comes to mind is Rousey in a MMA fight against a guy her size that has no grappling, judo, BJJ experience.

Mayweather isn't some sort of amateur who is seeing martial arts for the first time. Surely a gifted athlete who is in excellent shape and already a master of a somewhat similar discipline could pick up lots of stuff in a few months.

I think she COULD win in the MMA fight, but she would 100% lose a boxing match.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

RE: Rousey Vs Mayweather
I'd bet heavily that Rousey would beat Floyd, almost certainly via first round submission or ground and pound. Cyborg would too. Floyd simply doesn't have the size or strength to make up for the absolutely massive technical disadvantage he'd be at having never trained a day of judo or wrestling in his life. Unless he can land a KO punch backing away in the first 30 seconds she's going to get her hands on him, and once that happens it's over.

This has nothing to do with any broader Men vs. Women nonsense, it's purely boxing versus MMA. No doubt Floyd would KO her in a ring, and no doubt she'd have all sorts of problems in the Octagon with a larger boxer. But that's not what we're talking about.

Edit: Now if you gave Floyd a full year to train, then that might change things. Never going to happen though of course.

RE: Rousey Vs Mayweather
Here is a video of Ronda "fighting" male MMA fighters. The title of this video is actually "Female Ronda Rousey FIGHTING A Male MMA Fighter Beast Mode". Pay attention to the beginning Judo exhibition.
A. This is sparring.
B. Notice the man is setting her up and allowing her to throw him with no resistance.
C. NO ONE is allowed to punch back.
D. After every throw, listen to the woman screaming "YEAH!!!" as if Ronda is actually accomplishing something.
E. She talks shit all day about Cain, Ray and Floyd - but refuses to fight women like Cyborg.

People who watch that and think Ronda is "beating" men, probably think Steven Seagal is "beating" two men here:

Here is the only reason to watch women fighting.

RE: Rousey Vs Mayweather
To the guys who think Ronda will win, how much actual boxing and grappling training do you have? BJJ/Judo belt rank, amateur fights, grappling competitions, etc?

If you've ever boxed with some decent male boxers, you'd know Floyd can put Ronda down with one or two jabs, especially with MMA gloves. There is no chance she even gets near him. The fight will be over that quickly. He's way too fast, has four inches of reach, the best footwork in the game, and at a minimum 10lbs of muscle larger. One Mayweather jab will be the hardest punch she's ever taken in her life.

People seriously underestimated how great Floyd is. But not even him. I'd bet any top 100 boxer in Floyds weight class would beat her. She's a great female MMA fighter, but the physical differences and skill levels here are far too great.

To answer your questions, my rank is black. In BJJ blue. I`ve had three amateur bouts in boxing. 2-1. I have to agree with cr33er he made all the points I would.

I'm surprised anyone with that much experience thinks Ronda would win.

RE: Rousey Vs Mayweather
I'm 50/50 on this. Royce Gracie was tapping out guys who outweighed him by 20+ lbs and he was by no means an elite athlete. Rousey IS an elite athlete (though to be fair Mayweather is too) and the size difference between the two of them isn't as nearly as much as it was between Royce and a lot of his opponents. Whether that is enough to overcome the strength advantage Mayweather has from being a man, I'm not sure about. If I was a betting man this is one fight I would keep my money away from, too many unknowns.

Rousey is an elite female athlete, which as we've seen from our US Women's Olympic soccer and hockey teams, can mean getting clobbered by non-elite high school boys', even ones as young as 15.

Mayweather has a material size advantage at ~15 pounds, and a much greater effective size advantage due to greater male muscle mass proportions.

RE: Rousey Vs Mayweather
Rousey would get dropped like a sack of fucking potatoes. If Mayweather got any MMA defense training of any significance at all, she would stand zero chance. She would have to basically execute a perfect stalk/takedown lightning quick and get lucky missing Floyd's punches in order to end the match nearly instantaneously.

Floyd with an MMA glove on? Rousey's chin is just one light bulb about to get smashed. I would bet money that she'd get seriously injured on top of losing.

This fight would never happen, so none of us will ever be proven right or wrong anyway.
