I think from a moral responsibility we’ve got to work with the rest of the industrialized world to address the problems of international poverty, but you don’t do that by making people in this country even poorer.

Also, what is this bs about the right not addressing the banks? It's been the right, and only the right, starting with Ron Paul, who have been hammering the Federal Reserve system for their crony bailout balony, the Tea Party's main issue was the bailouts for crying out loud.

It was only after the democrats realized that the banks were supremely hated that Warren gave some token resistance to Yellen at some b.s. Fed hearings that don't amount to anything where the head of the Fed comes to congress and tells them screw off with even thinking about auditing us, then Yellen basically says private banks control the Fed, and we control you, and walks out.

The grassroots right talks incessantly about corporate cronyism, bank bailouts, and the military industrial complex.

It's a moot point though because Sanders won't win. Even if he wins the primary he will be demolished by Trump.

People who think Trump is guaranteed a win need to peer out of the right wing eco chamber. No candidate will be rubber stamped for success.

I'm not rallying around Trump because I think he'll create a racial caste system. I'm actually a little late compared to others on this forum to support Trump, if you read through the Trump thread I don't post till about 30 pages in.

I'm rallying around Trump because a nation without borders isn't a nation.

America is a multi-racial country and has been since it's founding. But we are a country. And a country has borders. And the people coming here from Mexico, there first allegiance is to Mexico, for the most part.

But those Hispanics who are Mexican-American, and support America's interests first, are the thirty percent of Hispanics who support Trump and understand that America needs a border to compete with our competitors who enact tariffs, and protect their borders, and look out for their citizens first.

Back during the "no nukes" era of the 1980s, Pete Townshend of the Who gave an outrageous quote to a magazine where he said something like "I'm actually in favor of nuclear power, but I say I'm against it because like everyone else that does I'm hoping to fuck Jane Fonda."

With that in mind: I'm not crazy about Bernie Sanders, but I'm saying I am because here in the DC region it seems like he has all the hot women in his corner. This includes some absolutely stunning foreign women I know.

Here is how I see it: Men are for Trump; angry old hags back Hillary; and political geeks are into all the rest.

I'm for Jim Webb. I also support nuclear power.

I like Bernie Sanders because I think he's honest, same reason I respect Ron Paul. I don't find either of them to be the nasty, egotistical lot that compose of most politicians. I honestly lean more politically towards Sanders, but he's certainly farther to the left than I am. Point being, I don't care where someone is politically, so long as they aren't a dick about it, and are at least somewhat principled.

Indeed the more infuriating thing about Sanders to me is not the man, but his supporters. Raise taxes on other people, rich people are mean, pardon me while I text my parents on my iPhone because my rent and new car payment are due and I need money.

Anyway, I like Webb because I believe he's honest and I think he's one of the rare politicians who actually gives a crap about the white, middle class voter without putting every other group on a pedestal (women, minorities, one legged midgets, etc.).

It's a shame he doesn't have a chance, but that won't stop me for voting for/supporting him.

I personally don't care if the person is a nice guy or not, I just want them to do the best they can for the American people.

You are right about Sanders, if you have to question whether he will be good for the country or not, simply look at the people that support him. Pretty much a poster for all that we talk about being wrong with this country.

My problem with Jim Webb is he seems like one of those guys who truly does care, but he doesn't know how to solve the problems. He would be far better than Hillary or Jeb, easily, but we need someone up there who either knows economics or knows people who do know economics to turn this thing back around before it is too late.

Webb admitted in a 60 Minutes interview that he made a mistake voting for Obamacare. I have a lot of respect for him admitting this is a mistake. The problem is, he didn't even stop to think that passing a 2,700 page bill that he didn't even care to read that will directly impact 20% of the economy and indirectly impact it all, would be a bad idea. I am glad he admitted it in hindsight, but what will he do to not make such a huge mistake the next time. Who will he surround himself with to understand the deep economic ramifications from such a monstrous bill?

I'm not for or against Bernie at this point, I just think this was a funny story that shows the small amount of knowledge people who are the loudest sometimes have. Sanders is the last person these protesters should be against.

I come from fairly "socialist" country by your standards ... I was born to poor family and always had: Free healthcare, education, my mother got long maternity leave so I was probably happy newborn , they even helped with bills when my father lost job and mom had to support 3 kids... Those damn socialists.

Not gonna say the name of the country but they are doing better economically now then US, go figure

Doing better economically than the USA right now, as our leaders sell us out, is not something to write home about.

As for "free", the reason your family was poor is because all the opportunities to do more with their life and improve themselves and grow was spent to pay for these "free" things. Nothing in life is free.
