Located in downtown Nashville, the hub will employ 5,000 workers within seven years, earning an average of $150,000 a year. At that headcount, Amazon will become downtown's largest private employer — two-and-a-half times the size of Bridgestone and HCA Healthcare Inc. (NYSE: HCA), which currently hold that designation.

In its Nov. 13 announcement, Amazon said it will invest $230 million and occupy 1 million square feet of office space.

While Nashville is already pretty blue voting wise, this sort of move is going to signal to all types of tech/libtard/coastal folk to move there. Nashville was already on its way in becoming the next Austin and this just accelerated the timeline big time.

Why is this in the Trump thread?

Tennessee as a whole is pro-Trump TODAY but maybe not forever.

Like how Texas and many former GOP strongholds are tilting purple/blue due to the tech/coastal/libtard invaders who want to escape the actions of their bad values (but not change their values), this move by Bezos is going to put Tennessee potentially in play for senate and house seats in 2022 and maybe even at the Presidential level in 2024 or 2028. It will probably be a slow burn on the voting trends like Texas but this event is still not a good thing nonetheless.

That said, I really wish these dipshits would stay in their own backyard and stop taking advantage of nice low tax affordable places that conservatives built and turning them into expensive liberal dumps. Too bad US states can't restrict movement of people between states based on party affiliation and duration (i.e. you're a lifelong democrat from California? Sorry, you can't move here).

I'm from Tennessee. This is def. great for jobs in TN obviously. If anything having more jobs come should encourage the state to continue the no state income tax and conservative politics.

The only thing that's gonna mess it up is if the demographics change substantially. It doesn't matter how successful the economy is if you bring a lot of socialists they will want to change it.

I'd much rather have the jobs go to a red state than many other places that they could be going.

Hilarious meme. Mohammed VI is a decent enough king, but he is mostly costing off his dad's success.

Hassan II disappeared socialists all the damn time and was more or less the Pinochet of the Middle East while every other leader was allying with the Soviets. (Google "Hassan II and Trump" and you will see some decent pictures of the two together. When he visited the US under Clinton he stayed at Trump Tower.)

He sure isn't complaining about the remittances from the Moroccans currently stinking up France.

Indeed. Legal immigration (and, technically, non-immigration, via H1B "guest workers") is so full of ways to game the system nowadays it is a distinction without a difference versus flat out illegal immigration. Have a conversation with one or two of them about it and your jaw will drop when you find out how wide open the door is - it isn't just the southern border either. The situation is a ridiculous joke and a slap in the face to basic sensibility and security. Take away the borders & give away the citizenship and sooner or later you no longer have a country - but I guess that's the point, or at least a consequence on the road to oligarch self-dealing.

This trend does not bode well for legit immigrants who came in before the DNC and the Chamber of Commerce put so many regulatory exceptions and holes in the fence. I would be a bit pissed were I one who came in 15-20+ years ago and have to witness the expressways that have been created since.

Welcome to my hell. These fuckers that have come in the expressway do not understand the years of waiting for a green card, waiting in lines in Newark to file the paperwork for your immigration status, and having pride to be known as American. Instead these fuckers just vote for the Dems as they leech upon their host nation. They have have no share identity or pride in their new homes. They do not want to shed the shackles of the very countries they left to home to this land. Instead they recreate the counties of origins with all the dysfunctions and stupidity of home. Funny thing is melting pot is good analogy for immigration to the United States. You have to became what you let into the pot as forge the steel to build your nation. Put in too much impurities and wrong combination of metals leads to poor steel that can not take the strain of hard times. Right now we seeing letting in wrong number of people and degenerates are creating a county that can time survive.

I'd much rather have the jobs go to a red state than many other places that they could be going.

In a perfect world, these jobs would go to local Tennesseeans and Make Tennessee Great Again. In the real world, jobs like Amazon, Alliance Bernstein, or Ernst and Young wouldn't benefit Tennessseans much, if at all, as these jobs will simply go to jobs-chasing transplants. Instead of embracing Tennessee, they will turn Tennessee into whatever liberal dump they come from.

Keep in mind Nashville is the home of country music, one of the biggest pop culture areas that conservatives still at least have a voice in. And Nashville is probably the biggest city with good career opportunities that are conservative-friendly and still have noticeable southern culture throughout.

We all saw how first Virginia, then North Carolina, and now Georgia and Texas, become purple due to their main economic engines turning deep blue and colonized by both white liberals and immigrants. Now that Nashville is officially on the map for the white liberal crowd, Tennessee is all but gone as yet another transplant-heavy "New South" state, especially since Chattanooga and Knoxville are also very palatable cities for the liberal cancer to expand to once they turn Nashville into a Portland/Austin type base. Add South Carolina to the mix of future "New South" states too now that Charleston and to a lesser extent Greenville are becoming hot.

What does the South have left if these states become purple? Just Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi? Conservatives/nationalists might as well raise the white flag in America if pretty much every single state containing major cities turn purple or deep blue. Once TN officially becomes the next GA or NC, Alabama will end up being the next Tennessee, especially Huntsville, Mobile, and Birmingham all have the potential to be palatable for liberal tastes.

I'm expecting by 2030, Williamson, Rutherford, and perhaps Wilson counties turn purple if not blue (Davidson is already blue and will only get bluer), country music no longer defining or even playing a big role in Nashville, and the southern accent or even the old money southern crowd to all but die out anywhere in the metro area.

Sad! Because snarky liberal hipster chicks will replace the hot blondes that Nashville has (soon to be had) a lot of.

This is precisely why I'm not optimistic about the US in the medium-long term unless very drastic measures are taken.

Big tech has the money now, big growth potential in the future and has a super majority/super liberal employee base.

California, Washington, and New York have become way too expensive in taxes/living cost for even relative well paid employees. Instead of trying to fix their own states nor being banned from moving elsewhere, these dipshits look at mainstream medias "Best Towns to Live In" lists and....

They find Austin (remember how that was one everyones "Best Town" lists like a decade ago. Now all you hear about is insane traffic, insane rents, and homeless people).
Then a Raleigh.
Then a Boise.
Then a Reno (Tesla Gigafactory ring a bell? Didn't we just lose a incumbent GOP senate seat in Nevada? What a shock)
Then a Scottsdale.
Then a Provo (in Utah... supposedly fastest growing tech scene out there).

These people are moving for the money. They don't give a shit about the local populace. Often times, they resent them and their values and hope to bring more "culture" to these towns.

Keep in mind, these aren't old-school classical liberals; these are supremely intolerant authoritarian-socialist types. Remember that guy from Google that got fired for having the nerve to post in an internal forum a diplomatic post on the differences between men and women? How about Palmer Luckey (found of VR headset maker Oculus Rift; which FaceBook bought out). Got let go for having the audacity to donate to a anti-Hillary group. And that Firefox CEO fired for donating to being against gay marriage? How very tolerant. Remember, disagreement = hate speech = destroyed career with the modern liberal. This isn't hypothetical; the overwhelming evidence proves this.

If you understand how our electoral system and the allowed free movement of people between states works, it is clear as day that conservatives have no recourse against floods of big tech money/liberal people and it would be politically very hard to resist bringing more jobs to their respective areas. Ask yourself this: Over two decades, are more towns becoming blue or red? Seems to me that the blue team is racking up footholds everywhere across the nation in formerly strong conservative areas. I don't hear anything about growing conservative movements in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, the DC area, Portland, or 2nd tier liberal cities. I doubt I ever will.

Look at the recent Amazon HQ2 search. Every town in the country was ready to cut both nuts off and whore out their daughters to get that sweet Amazon money. Bezos is the richest guy in the world, barely pays taxes, runs a company notorious for treating its people like shit, and damn near every local/state gov't was ready to eat this guys asshole. Because the super rich guy who barely pays taxes and treats people like shit really, REALLY needs a multi-billion dollar package fronted by taxpayers, right?

The root problem is most people in government have no principles and are sell outs. That and we reward the wrong types of behavior and don't punish the people who need to be punished. For example:

1. Life long California democrat? Sorry, you can't move to Texas until you have voted republican for 2 elections cycles.

2. Run a corporation and over-leveraged yourself? Sorry no bailout for you; you're going bankrupt so up and coming businessmen with better models can grow.

3. Went to college and got 100k in debt? Sorry, you need to live with it and tell everyone that college is a mistake until the cost/benefit makes sense. You want forgiveness of loans? Serve your country/community and earn it.

4. Get knocked up by a deadbeat with bad ethics and don't get child support? Sorry, no welfare for you. Welfare is for widows. You'll be a lesson to every woman out there to avoid Chad Thundercock from Tinder who's highest career aspiration is to work off and on at the local mall.

5. Broke into someones property and got killed despite having no weapon? Sorry, no lawsuit for your family who failed to raise you properly; that being, you shouldn't invade peoples property unless you're willing to die.

In the five examples guess who pays for, in both money and quality of life, the aforementioned? We do. Ethical hard working fair people.

Fuck up my town with illegals/trash and stupid rents (subsidized by the gov't for the trash), rig the free enterprise system to reduce competition, make college a ultra expensive requirement for dumb jobs, pay taxes for worthless single mothers, pay for the court/prison system to keep trash alive, and I can't even defend myself in the heat of the moment without a goddamn lawyer present.

Oh, and now you can't even stay in your backward ass world in giant ass California and now want to come to my new home (since you fucked up my former home) and ruin it too? And you can't even ACKNOWLEDGE how you fucked up everything?

This is why I say the US going to break up eventually, be it peacefully or violently. I can't be the only one who feels this way and is about to snap and start demanding secession more vocally. Better to do it now while we have master negotiator Trump around and some real leverage left; as oppose to a decade from now and the democrats own everything, gov't and business, (think California except nationally where no GOP guy can get traction) and aren't really in a negotiating mood.

If anyone wants a laugh just read "Tucker Carlson agrees with Alexandria Cortez."

Cortez is arguing against the crony corporatism of letting Amazon take over Long Island City. Her arguments are:

-Won't hire locals

-Changes demographics

-Not healthy development

-Why does the world's richest guy need 2 billion in free money

Sounds like she is scared the district will lose minority voters to a demographic slightly less favorable to her. Pretty much the same arguments the forum has posted above but from the other side.

I'm not bashing my group at all, but your points nail everything out for the room to see. The most insightful comment I heard last night was election fraud and how Trump has dropped the ball on that. Goes back to punishing bad behavior. Does Broward county want to play around? Then get the DOJ to open up an investigation!!!!! Honestly what is our administration doing???? FUCK man is Clinton locked up yet????!!! Pardon me if I'm out of the loop but why is Antifa still operating? They're domestic terrorists that should have their organization RICO'd and everybody past and present should be serving time with their voting rights permanently revoked!!!!

At best we have 6 more years to prepare and Trump needs to address root causes!!!!!!!!

Ahhhhh good. Crazy bitch is doing just what we wanted her to do. Cannibalize her own left. Technically speaking real communists should be 100% opposed to what we call leftist trash here in the USA.

Can you imagine in 10-15 years the potential infighting Mexicans, Guatemalans, Puerto Ricans, and Hondurans are going to have? Should be interesting. It won't be boring to watch that is for certain.

Many Mexicans already hate Puerto Ricans and Cubans, especially here in Florida, mainly because they feel the latter are very entitled because of Commonwealth and the dry feet policy. You even see a generation gap between the older Mexicans who came here prior to the '80s - legally or otherwise - and worked hard, kept their head down, and didn't have massive government aid to leech off of and the more recent arrivals who benefit from subsidies, entitlements, etc.

There is some variation of this even in Houston, but swap out the PR and Cubans for others. It's still not enough to affect politics and culture to any degree yet. If we lose the demographic war, cultural shift is the only out. Can conservative ideas and values be persuasive enough to flip people?

Nashville is not conservative. Some locals call it the third coast. Music industry is big.

The rest of Tennessee is in the Bible belt.

This is precisely why I'm not optimistic about the US in the medium-long term unless very drastic measures are taken.

The thing that makes me most pessimistic is that our own people have the wrong ideas and support the wrong values. For example, cheering the intervention of the US military into other countries to destroy them in order to salvage one's lost masculinity. On the North Korea thread, I encouraged peace with North Korea a full year before Trump met with Kim Jong Un, and was called a troll.

The US military has never helped the average American:

1. Iraq - A pointless trillion dollar war against Saddam Hussein, hand picked to be our friend in the Middle East, and his destruction unleashing Muslim fundamentalist political violence,

2. Vietnam - 58, 220 US fatalities. Look at Vietnam now. Productive and living their
lives peaceful the way they want too. Is anyone afraid of Vietnam now? When I was growing up, Vietnam was the great Satan, a threat to "Democracy". Do you tremble with fear at night because of those dangerous Vietnamese? Well, my generation did.

3. Korea - another pointless undeclared war due to globalist strategic policies,

4. World War II - Winston Churchill, previously rejected by the English people for being a dangerous war monger declares war on Germany and tricks America into war with the help of the socialist FDR. Also, millions of America hating communist subversives immigrate to America during this period and are put into power in American universities to produce the 60s revolution. Joe McCarthy is demonized for exposing the infiltration into the US government.

5. Civil War - The North was a society based on the individual working his own plot of land and becoming prosperous. It was a virtuous country. The exemplar of Yankee virtue was Benjamin Franklin. Not letting the South secede, meant that the North inherited all the evil of a lazy elite who couldn't work for themselves. They had a right to their own country.

6. Revolutionary War - Canada managed to be free without a war.

Look at how the Democratic Party is now demonizing Putin and Russia. Do you think this is a coincidence? The globalist elites are preparing another war with Russia and China. Also, Iran is not our enemy and could be our best friend fighting degenerates in the Middle East. They are angry and have a right to be.

Conservatives need to realize that they only real enemy that they have is the enemy within. If they don't free their minds, they will loose everything.

About the only thing you have right is the Iraq War being a colossal blunder.

So much incorrect about the above historical revision(s) but I'll limit my comments to just the Vietnam Conflict....its all I have time for

Americans at home were never afraid of the Vietnamese people themselves nor was that conflict about the Vietnamese per se. It was rather about slowing the communist / socialist "wave" that was spreading via the influence of the USSR and China.

While the Vietnam conflict was ultimately lost on the ground and Vietnam itself has returned to a productive stable state, it's naive to ignore what might have happened if the US had not gotten involved. Just like in Korea (and many other conflicts) prior to and during the Cold War the message was sent; "Communism will not be allowed to spread unchallenged and without great cost".

Its easy to assume that things would have ended up the same way they did. But then being wrong about the hypothetical is usually pretty easy

Could've also continued to help Ho Chi Minh with his nation's independence as we did during the Second World War and help France with her pre-war colonial entanglements.

Notice how everytime we've helped to Continental Europe's dirty work we get short-shafted in the end?

Quote:Amazon.com Inc. plans to make Nashville the home of a new East Coast operations hub, the company announced today.

Nice Post!

Yes if they do not get the border secured it could happen by 2030. I'm hoping President Trump can get that done otherwise, I think for sure that the U.S. will turn blue due to the immigration issue in the near future.

I almost want to just stop watching the news for the next 2 years and chime in to see what's up. If trump loses in 2020, I'm gonna have to reallocate my portfolio for a lower growth economy and decrease my allocation in U.S. assets.

I'm not sure how stupid the voters are in general but it seems obvious from my perspective that the lower taxed states like TN, Florida, and Texas are killing it economically.

Hopefully they can get merit based immigration so we can get highly skilled people immigrating here legally. And kick out the ones who are coming over illegally.

George Bush should have fixed the immigration problem back in 2000. I think the politicians sold us out in the past and now we are dealing with the consequences and forward. I think if anyone can get us going well again, it's President Trump. He's doing great work.

Cheers!
