A outstanding comment found elsewhere:

Quote:The coastal elites and the beltway types love to call “Trump Supporters” ignorant hicks. They actually believe us gun toting, freedom loving Southerners and Midwestern folks bought into the fecal sandwich Trump was selling.

Well it’s true we supported a NYC real estate mogul that has about as much in common with us as any pavement dweller.

The real magic of his campaign was simplistic. He was able to accurately define who we are and what we represent. By doing so, he was able to bring nearly all our enemies out of the shadows and to the forefront. We toothless hayseeds had a pretty good idea who was against our way of life and our very existence before 2016. Yet Trump was able to confirm our suspicions that the corruption and bias is institutional and more systemic than imagined. He legitimized our angst.

Trump was our most successful probing attack to date. Our opposition is too foolish to see we used him as such. He will also serve us well in another role. As a Catalyst for our wrath if the fools try to impeach and remove him from office or as a martyr if the elites decide to murder him.

Schumer is mocking angel moms by carrying pictures of federal workers portraying them as the real victims.

Note that the only "victims" of the shutdown they can find to parade around are the government employees not getting paychecks.

What about all the people suffering due to these allegedly important departments being shut down? There must be millions of them out there dying in the streets. I mean all these departments must do something important, right?
Once Was Not · 2019-01-18 11:25:00 · #88736
All that whinging about the poor federal workers and their missed paychecks that they'll receive on back pay anyway. Oh god the humanity, oh god oh man. Ok we're going on a trip now. Bye. Don't forget Orange Man Bad.

They're lucky the media will and is covering for them, this should be a fucking disaster right now. But nah, Blumpf told Cohen to lie about some fucking tower or some shit.

And I actually had my first and last Big Mac the other day. Not fit to even be called a burger. All bread and sauce and "lettuce" with two thin little patties on it. McDonalds is the shittiest food you can get in my opinion. Doesn't even taste like real food. Makes me realize how much I took Five Guys for granted.

Just looked at my paycheck. The government wasn’t shut down enough to not take my money... just sayin.

First they were supporting Nancy's decision and, predictably, vilifying Trump.

Then, even Jim Acosta said that both sides were being childish at this point. I don't think public opinion is going in the direction they hoped.

This is exactly what I predicted would happen when the Dems won the house. We will now see 2 years of pointless and childish bickering. (Even worse than in the past 2 years.) Just constant meaningless drama galore, and no real changes happening. I don`t see any reason to be an optimist at this point.

It's not pointless. Trump is not doing this for childish reasons, but to make the Dem's come to the table.

It's not drama. He cancelled the trip to show how little of a shit the Dem's really care about, they were about to leave for overseas, instead of bargaining on the budget.

It is real change. You think any of the other candidates on the right would of done this?

Trump is playing their game and winning on this.

They don't want a border wall, fine, no funding for the what you want.

They claim their isn't enough security for a SOTU, fine, there's not enough security for you to travel overseas with unpaid federal workers.

He's literally showing the hypocrisy of the left.

Keep the government shut down, I don't care how long it takes, the odds are high the left will fold and throw more and more temper tantrums.
Laner · 2019-01-18 15:24:00 · #88743
Trump is beating the left at their own game, using their own tactics.

This is why they are mental with derangement.

He is not giving up any terrain to the left and this is new to them. The Democrats of the 80s are further right than the Republicans of 2019. This should tell us something.

Kaotic in with the amazing ability to read between the lines, discard the emotionalism and tell us what all this theater means when you get down to the thing of it.
I never looked at it like that before.
Trump giving it to them the way they "assume" they are dishing it out to him.

You basically illustrated my point Kaotic. I`m sure Trump can beat the Dem`s at these games, but it`s precisely these games that get in the way of real changes. Like the wall actually being built. How can things improve when the Dem`s are now in a position to sabotage more than pre mid-terms?

I`ll give Trump the benefit of doubt and say that`s he`s not playing this game on purpose, in order to create drama and entertainment for the sake misleading people that have hopes of real changes coming from his Presidency. But you have to ask why he didn`t do more when he had the house majority?

Explain to me how he "didn't do more" when he had the house majority.

The televised event was his "beginning" of his timer in giving the Dems time to come to the table and negotiate.
They've had all week and STILL planned to be out of the country this weekend. Fuck them, time to pay the piper.

What if Shmelosi claiming the SOTU address venue wouldn't be safe was the Dems way of saying "imminent deep state attack" all while those dopes were out of the country.
Now they gotta sit front and center and deal with Trump putting them down in their own house about how safe the venue really is on live TV yet again like last year.
She fears being humiliated again!

Same boat, like I mentioned, that speech was the "Set up" and hopefully this announcement will be the "spike" for making this an emergency.

If you`ll explain to me what has really happened of substantial changes? Don`t get me wrong, I hope things will happen, and I still have some faith that they will. But I can`t see that much as of yet.

The deficits are continuing to increase. There is no real reduction in the size of the public sector etc. (draining the swamp) Why not try to push some of these things trough earlier. Why now when it`s a stalemate? There`s not much time left until the next election after all, and Trump will be busy campagning for a full year probably.

I think he's trying to help americans by putting coin in their pocket if we so choose to capitalize on this gesture.
By doing so he becomes the good president they elected who they can further trust.
Once that's in the bag he can start to go to town on real big subjects whatever they may be.
The dems and every other entity throwing major roadblocks is not helping this and gives you rose-tinted glasses on what's truly shifting in our country.
Besides, someone has a list of all accomplishments he's done so far. Something like 285+ visible changes.
That's a start.

I've been on this thread since Page 1, I know exactly what he's done, spoiler alert, it's ALOT for the American people.

It's painfully clear alot of guys who are going black pill on Trump saying he's a nothing burger were never really on the train to begin with.

They're like fair weather sports fans.

Here's a list for starters:

President Donald J. Trump's Accomplishments List:

Now the key black pill holy trinity is usually the following:

-Drain the swamp
-Lock her up
-Wall

-If you'd been paying attention Trump has been pushing the wall since Day 1 in office - he was obstructed from Day 1, even in his OWN party. He's STILL working on it.

-Draining the swamp will take decades, and that's only dealing with his cabinet and party, imagine how long it would take on the lefts side of the swamp.

-Locking her up, I can admit was a pipe dream, but now more than ever the curtain has been lifted on all the swamp creatures for all too see.

The black pill holy trinity of justice is a pipe dream - at best it'll take a very long time.

Secondly, Trump isn't a dictator leading this country (contrary to popular liberal belief) - there ARE checks and balances.

Yes, the deep state is apart of this, however, under no circumstances do I want a dictator at the helm of America.

Would you want a Hillary/Warren/Biden with dictatorial powers? Hell no!

Noting the above.
It takes time to build or rebuild. Especially when the intent is quality.
It doesn't take much time at all to tear down.
