Either way the Republicans did well. They played the game correctly, especially Chuck Grassley. Let's see if Joe Manchin decides to vote against his party. If he does they will isolate him very badly. He might want to consider changing parties. At the minimum, he should change to Independent like Joe Lieberman did. As long as he keeps it real for West Virginia and helps Trump out, I think he can beat his challengers in a 3 way election fairly easily.

You may be right on this---we'll know in a few days or so. I've just gotten so used these guys caving at the first sign of any sex allegation---no matter how outlandish or unsubstantiated---that the long-game from them looks like weakness.

Solid points. Women, on the whole, tend to overplay their hand until a man (or men collectively in the culture) check their most egregious overreach. Just think about it. For years, women have been putting the screws down on men with very minimal pushback. The collective overreach of women is like a compression spring under load. The energy isn't released until you've pushed it down all the way, but when the load is released, the pent-up energy is massive.

We're reaching that point very fast, due in large part these constant false rape accusations. We've had Clarence Thomas, we've had the Duke boys, now we have another S.C. justice being accused of abusing women. Too much overreach and the spring is about to pop. France and the UK are fine with their military. Switzerland has an excellent model of what I think a military force should look like; all civilian males can be called to defense at a moment's notice, kind of like the Minutemen.

This isn't a refutation of my opinion. This is what I assumed we all knew to be the purpose. My point is is that I am not at all comfortable in building more of a military industrial apparatus in a foreign land. Yes, I know that this is the selling point. I remember when George Bush wanted to build the missile systems in Czech Republic, Poland. Going a step further and building a full blown military base is more than the NeoCucks could have wanted. They are creaming their pants at the thought of this.

We need to look at Trump not as a savior but as someone who bought us more time. He extended the clock but the clock is still running. Just because this would be built under Trump's regime does not mean that it would not eventually be, once again, under a Pozzed regime. The US cultural machine is currently the biggest purveyor of pozz. I don't want to expand the empire, I want my country back to what my ancestors intended it to be. It was never meant for this crap.
