NRA sit-down is a great move.

The media and politicians have been promoting a narrative of the Orlando attack as either a gun control issue with nothing to do with Islamic terrorism, or vice versa. Pure propaganda designed to divide people into two opposing groups when really there is plenty of common ground.

There is more than one problem in the world, and we can attack those problems on various fronts.

This is why what Trump has just done is so smart. He's strongly anti-Islamic terrorism, as any American or Westerner should be, while also recognizing another, separate problem in America - gun violence. All the while the media and other politicians insisting it has to be one or the other.

He's tearing the media machine down one piece at a time.

Regardless of what the talks or future gun control restrictions bring this will get to people who realize he's going beyond ideology here and acting pragmatic to get things done for America.

Following Trump's first Muslim ban proposal promoted by San Bernardino last year, immense press negativity flooded upon him, but his poll number went up. This time it will also go in that direction.

The negative press is the media and elite's natural reaction - of course the voices are going to be loud. It's a desperate attempt to stop the mass migration from D to R. If Trump is really serious about running (which still remains to be seen) then I agree he has a very real shot at winning the Republican primary. The anger from the right if this happened would probably destroy the GOP and result in the emergence of true right-wing nationalist party.

I read a good suggestion on this topic, namely that people on watch lists should be placed on a 72 hour hold when buying a gun, which gives the alphabet soup agencies time to either put up or shut up. If a dude is so dangerous that he's barred from flying and denied his constitutional rights to purchase firearms, then either arrest him and place him in front of a court so he has his due process, or else lay off him and let him go about his fucking business.

I was talking to younger girl I know a few months ago who originally a Bernie supporters but jumped over to Trump after it became clear Bernie wasn't going to pull it out. Some highlights:
