I like it as a rhetorical shot, but really an investigation is just an investigation. It's not due process, so it's insufficient to strip an American of basic guaranteed rights like RKBA. The no fly list is bad enough as it is, I'd rather not see due process take even more hits in the nuts.

The running for office thing is a stickier question. Is running for office a right? I don't think so. There are specific restrictions on who can run for president written right into the Constitution. But should a mere investigation disqualify someone from running for office legally? Again, I don't think so. The potential for abuse there is staggering.

So, it's really up to the parties to decide what disqualifies their candidates. If, as a party, you're cool with letting someone like Hillary represent you on the national stage, well, alright... but that's not likely to convince anyone of your good judgement or strong values, is it?

But why should I be surprised that Hillary is running with such strong support on the left? The whole party is made up of idealists, magical thinkers, and single issue gimmedat voters. Morals and rationality aren't the strong suits of that crowd.

He's big into r/The_Donald (and ten years married) but I'm working on getting him into the RVF, probably via this thread itself.

So go get yourself some Trump gear, and wear it proudly. You have no idea how much of difference such a small thing can make.

Allow me to clarify. I have no problem with and in fact encourage people to wear Trump gear. However, as a business "opportunity" I don't think there's much market because of the reasons stated. I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

The thing that irks me the most about the Obama video is when he starts mocking his opponents who criticize him for not saying "Radical Islam." In his typical smug way, he basically says "There, I said it! Is that going to stop terrorism now? Nobody ever told me that saying those two words is going to fix our problems!".

No shit, you imbecile. It's about identifying the problem. The first step towards fixing anything in life is to identify the problem. From there, you can come up with some reasonable plans for fixing the problem. Putting blinders on does not help anything.

This guy is a disgrace.

The words you use help shape your reality and mindset. Talk like a loser, you will be a loser. If you can't name the problem, you can't begin to fix the problem. Obama thinks it's just about using a label (or maybe he wants us to think that; I don't think he's that dumb), but it's more about thinking about framing things in the right way.
