Republican insiders are not taking Trump's victory well.

Over at Fox News, former Bush Administraion "staffer" David Ross Meyers wrote an opinion piece saying that his fellow Republicans "will not be trusted again" if they support Trump.

So, in other words, sending thousands off to die and get disabled in a useless war was fine with this man...but vote for someone he doesn't like and you won't be "trusted." OMG! How could I ever live with myself then?

One paragraph in particular stands out, and I hope it's not indicative of how Republicans will behave in the coming months. Get ready for this:

I don't think Trump has so much respect from Putin at this time. The word Putin used translates at "flamboyant or brilliant" as in ostentatious, as opposed to being "really really smart".

I have mixed feelings on that. If he wants to win, he will need more funding, if he does not match the billion dollars in attack ads that the democrats will use, then he will lose. Also, that money can be used to fund the other campaigns for the House and Senate seats that are up for grabs in November. If he is not going to spend a billion dollars of his own money, and I can't really blame him for that, then he will have to stop self funding.

I truly believe that Trump's ascendency is nothing less than divine providence. In Greek mythology, Trump perfectly represents Nemesis - who exacts divine retribution against those who have angered the Gods with gross displays of hubris. The political and media establishment had been gaming the system for years, exploiting and abusing it for their own ends. The American people were being played for fools. The arrogance of the elite was at an all-time high. They were due for a reckoning.

The magnitude of Trump's accomplishment - winning the nomination of a major party as a total outsider and political novice - is something we haven't yet wrapped our heads around. We're still too close to it at this point in time. But this is entirely unprecedented in the modern era. This was supposed to be impossible. The entire political/media/financial apparatus was designed specifically to make such a feat impossible. This is why the cucks and leftists were left dumbfounded time and time again as Trump not only survived their attacks, but continued to win and climb in the polls. The enemies of Trump have been in denial for months. They simply cannot process what happened because it goes against everything they knew about the corrupt political/media system they though they controlled.

And it should have been impossible. I believe it would have been impossible for literally any other man in the United States. This is why I regard Trump as one of the handful of historic men of destiny - perfectly, impossibly well-suited to their times, such men leap on the stage of history and lay waste to their opponents, leaving onlookers in a state of stunned awe. The only man with the sufficient fame, wealth, charisma, intelligence, confidence, gravitas and energy to single-handedly defeat the establishment. In hindsight it becomes clear that everything in Trump's life was leading up to this point. This was his destiny all along, as impossible as it seems. We're used to such men of destiny being warriors, kings and generals - and most have been. But we live in a different age. Men of destiny were supposed to be extinct, relics of a bygone era when contests were won by sword and hoof. But the battlefield in our day is not a physical landscape, but an abstract one. The war is not fought with guns and swords, but with words and ideas. Given such a system, those who control and operate the media have an enormous - seemingly insurmountable - advantage when it comes to controlling the public discourse. And in this manner they are thus able to control society and the country as a whole, through the manipulation of public opinion and the consequent power over political hopefuls this engenders. All politicians were thus forced to acquiesce to the demands of these controllers, or else face utter destruction by the media monster they could unleash at will. But then came Trump.

The only man with the sufficient fame, wealth, charisma, intelligence, confidence, gravitas and energy to single-handedly defeat the establishment. His media savvy is unprecedented - Scott Adams has only skimmed the surface of Trump's genius in this regard. And yes - we are witnessing genius here. Trump is an artist, and salesmanship/public relations is the canvas on which he paints. Like Jordan created art on a basketball court and Fischer created art on a chessboard, each through the combination of brilliant talent and an indomitable will to win - so Trump's artistry in the media sphere is equally as impressive. This man defeated not only sixteen direct opponents arrayed against him, but the entire corrupt media apparatus. They'd played this game hundreds of times before and had never lost. No one could stand against them. Except Trump.

In hindsight it becomes clear that everything in Trump's life was leading up to this point. This was his destiny all along, as impossible as it seems. My only regret was that I hadn't put on some appropriate music before reading it - something by Mark Petrie or Hans Zimmer, most probably.

Seeing the weight of the machine against Trump has led me to think on more than one occasion that we are seeing providence at work here.

In the UK we've seen the exact same thing happen with Leicester City winning the Premiership. I wouldn't normally compare sporting events with such important events as the election, but take it from me, we have watched much the same thing happen when a team of underdogs broke the grip on the league by the same few clubs, all of whom probably spent more on their reserve squads than Leicester did on their first. And here, no one can figure out how they did it. Their tactics were nothing special, their manager had no track record of cup-winning, yet no one managed to figure them out.

David Icke said back in 2010 that he didn't see the end of the system coming in 2012 but "maybe in 2016, or the years immediately thereafter". What we've seen this year alone has brought me back to this quote again and again.

The butthurt is currently strong with the Ben Shapiros of the world, but just wait -- those cursing Trump now will be praising him Mid October.

He probably won't win the Hispanic vote but he will do a hell of a lot better than 10-15%. Lay off the media and their bs talking points. They have been dead wrong all along the way.

Remember when Cruz tried to brand Trump 'Sleazy Donald'?

It didn't work. It didn't work because it runs counter to the overwhelming dominant public perception of Trump. For most people, Trump is a blunt, unfiltered candidate who is not afraid to speak his mind - whether or not they consider it a good thing. If they don't like what he says, they consider him a shameless, unabashed bigot, a barbaric redneck caveman who lacks the prudence and filter that civilization requires - he speaks his mind, but what an ugly mind he got. If they like what he says, then he is truthful warrior who fearlessly speaks truth to power, who tells it like is in defiance of political correctness. Or maybe he is just a really honest, candid, lovable old-school folksy guy who says what he means and means what he says, with whom you sometimes disagree but can have a beer. In popular opinion, Trump is anything but sleazy.

It also didn't work because, Cruz, like the the establishment and mainstream media, failed to create a consistent narrative about Trump. At one point he coined the term trumpertantrum to imply that Trump is a juvenile, petulant, impulsive manchild - and he also repeatedly stressed that Trump is less well-behaved than his two small kids. This may ring true to some people, but then how can a juvenile manchild be sleazy? On one hand, Trump's opponents tried to portray him as a blithering idiot who cannot possibly muster a coherent, intelligent thought. On the other hand they attempted to pain him as a con artist, snake oil/used car salesman who is deviously deceiving America. The two narratives contradict each other and ultimately speak little more than their hatred for Trump. To the people, they are just desperately spouting whatever they can come up with to badmouth the anti-establishment front-runner.

Meanwhile, Trump's attacks are effective in part because he has managed to be consistent in his narrative. Jeb is a low-energy mess, Ted is a nasty liar, Marco is a sweaty nervous greenhorn, politicians in general are all talk and no action, incompetent, bought and paid for, totally controlled puppet, the media is disgusting dishonest, Trump-bashers are desperate; America is going to hell because our leaders are stupid and getting played by foreign leaders; we are no longer great because we have become weak and blame America first; to be great again we must get tough, dispense with political correctness and put America first.

What about the nickname Dangerous Donald then? Is it any improvement from past attempts by Trump's opponents?

It is clearly intended to play many people's visceral horror at the prospect of a Trump's presidency - the infamous Trump anxiety, a fear that has risen to psychological condition requiring professional therapy. Trump's biggest obstacle, as identified by Scott Adams, is that he scares half the country shitless. And this nickname, if anything, is certainly not helping him improve his scary image.

This nickname also fits in with whatever interpretation people have about Trump. If they (baselessly) believe him to be an impulsive, hot-headed, mercurial simpleton, then it's clearly dangerous to entrust the nuclear button to such a person - this bumbling fool will accelerate economic decline, ruin foreign relations, anger foreign leaders, accidentally start WWIII and bring America to inevitable doom. If on the other hand if they (also baselessly) believe that he is a deceitful, Machiavellian, unhinged demagogue with dark authoritarian ambition, he may abuse his power and endanger innocent people all over the world.

The nebulous character of the nickname also makes it appealing to Trump supporters, creating room for a favorable interpretation that resonates with people who like Trump. Dangerous to whom? They take it to mean Trump is a real, serious threat to the corrupt establishment. Hence they proudly embrace the nickname, spread and repeat it everywhere, inadvertently associating Trump with danger in the subconscious minds of many, and for those who don't like him, it means danger to the country.

The upside is that it also sounds cool, creating cool visual play, cool association with popular badass anti-hero. But even then it renders his image as more of a rogue warrior than a presidential statesman. Being a rogue warrior has been Trump's appeal up until now, but this is the stage when he pivots to being presidential.

I don't think this is enough to seriously harm Trump's chance or anything. With some luck it may even help Trump, as some guys have suggested, if the cool factor triumphs and overwhelms the rest. But personally it is not a nickname that I would embrace.

^I'm surprised the Republican candidates didn't brand him as Donald the Barbarian. That would have stuck more, but then again that sounds too close to Conan the Barbarian.

I would love to see Trump's head photoshopped to Conan's head in the picture with all the Republican nominee's heads photoshoppped on the corpses at the bottom.

"Dangerous Donald" is a nickname coined by people with a tin ear. It won't work because it's cutesy and alliterative. It sounds like a cartoon character. In addition, he already has the most obstreperously abstract and immutable nickname associated with his first name: THE Donald. It's impossible to displace that.

Notice that none of Trump's monikers have any alliteration in them, because he instinctively grasps that the ear wants the opposite of that: it wants a certain kind of flowing complementarity. Neither the consonants nor the vowels in the adjective should be too similar to the ones in the name:

Low Energy Jeb Bush
Lyin' Ted Cruz
Little Marco Rubio
Crooked Hillary Clinton

And the latest, which is perhaps his most inspired and brilliant of all and will stick like glue:

Goofy Elizabeth Warren

No cutesy alliteration or word play in any of them, but an easy and staining flow. Trump has a natural, inspired and, indeed, poetic feel for the English language. We'll see what the other side can come up with, but so far they've got nothing.
