A woman facing an FBI investigation, a woman whose willful incompetence cost American lives, a woman who has repeatedly indicated her desire to be the third term of Barack Obama, is the figure the Republican Establishment would choose over a Republican candidate who has received two million MORE votes than his nearest GOP rival.

I lived there for many years, grew up on a farm and worked with farmers. The pockets of those towns are pretty much all republicans. Pretty similar to the mid-west folk.

When you get to the large cities, that's when things change.

Problem with midwestern states is low population. You'll be demographically and culturally overwhelmed much more quickly than the coasts, which have been resiliently cosmopolitan for a long time and are better able to absorb immigrants.

I use to love Scott Walker. He went against the grain and didn't succumb to liberal bullshit. Now he's as cucked as Paul Ryan. Tuesday is going to be a nail biter. I've met plenty of Cruz and Kasich supporters who simply don't like Trump's personality.

This is not going to happen. I'm not even sure that Trump and Cruz really hate each other -- I rather think they respect and admire each other at this point -- but there is no basis for them on which to make any kind of deal.

Both of them want to win and think they can and will. In addition, the only thing Trump can offer Cruz is a VP slot, and that is a proposition that is of almost no value to Cruz.

For a relatively young, ambitious pol being Trump's VP has few enticements. If Trump wins, everything his administration does will be about him and the VP will get no glory; and if Trump loses and especially loses badly, then having run as Trump's VP will be a black mark against you and you might well be blackballed from the party for years to come.

Mitt Romney lost badly and Paul Ryan was not blackballed and suffered no black marks, in fact he is currently the House Speaker and highest ranking Republican in the country.

But I get what you are saying, and this is a different year. If Cruz became VP for 4 or 8 years, that would likely be grooming for another future white house bid. Also, he might consider the likelihood of Trump getting assassinated and then he would become president. I think there is very good reason for Cruz to want to be VP.
