On some level, at least she's doing something about ISIS, rather than bitching about it on Twitter. On another level, she's leaving three children to go "do her duty" for a group that is only slightly less anti-American than ISIS.

Also, serving in the US Army in a support role does not qualify you to go fight fanatical Islamists. Hell, being in a combat role barely does. I'd love to see what she actually did. Something tells me supply or some other rear-echelon job.

Everyone loves this new women in combat roles thing. Until they start coming home in body bags.

It's just high level attention whoring.

Maybe she watched one too many war movies that Hollywood churns out. I seriously doubt she's doing any kind of front line or small arms infantry stuff. Even if she has any exposure to the front line she's probably getting shuttled to and fro by a bunch of escorts in her magic kingdom war tourism adventure.

The Kurds are probably smart enough to know a useful propaganda tool when they see one. Better to keep her photogenic first world white woman self around with limbs intact and in prime photo ops for the cause.

She served in the Army maybe shes the gung ho "Murica!" type. I served in the Military and there are certainly people in there who are all about Murica, freedom, and serving their country.

I could care less if some woman wants to go "serve her country" cause she thinks its her duty as a American. Fathers leave their kids to go on tours everyday, some voluntary and some not.

USMC vet. Multiple female marines told me they would get pregnant to avoid going on a deployment. This woman abandoned her sense of duty to her family to fight for a foreign cause. She is certainly an attention whore and likely has major psychological issues (like most women in the military who aspire to be "on the front lines").
I'm also looking forward to seeing whether she'll be cycled back to the states as a result of pressure on the peshmerga from the U.S. gov't similar to other previous military members who have gone to fight or whether the peshmerga commanders will let this ride.

This dumb woman aside:

It takes a special kind of nutsack to put yourself in harms way. Writing off military service or commitment to a cause is easy for most civilians, because it costs nothing. Hitting the gym to rediscover your sense of masculinity? Great, go ahead.
