A brothel is set to open in Toronto’s north end, but the sex workers won’t be real women but instead high-tech sex dolls made of silicone.

Aura Dolls is launching what it claims is the first sex-doll brothel in North America on Sept. 8 in a plaza on Yonge Street near Shepherd Avenue, which also houses a nail salon, a massage parlour and a dry cleaner.

“We operate similar to a brothel where guests come in, they have their own room,” said marketing director Claire Lee. “We have a TV monitor that plays adult entertainment and a doll … will be ready and waiting for you in your room.”

Names, photos and descriptions of the dolls can be found on the company’s website along with rates which range from $80 for one doll for 30 minutes to $960 for two dolls for four hours.

Aura Dolls told CityNews the customers will only have to interact with the dolls when they visit the business, which will have a private entrance at the back and a buzzer system to exit.

“They put their payment down on the counter and they go straight to their room,” Lee said. “They’ll probably not bump into a single person.

“We don’t have staff there, just a camera. The payment is taken at the beginning, you go into the room, do your time and just leave.”

The company also encourages the use of lube and condoms and said the dolls will be cleaned after each customer using a three-step routine.

The owners wanted to remain anonymous, but their Lee said they got the idea to start the business after visiting Japan.

Though it’s a first of its kind in Canada, sex-doll brothels have opened elsewhere in the world, including Europe, where people have raised concerns over the dehumanization and objectification of women.

“At the end it’s just a doll,” said Lee. “I see it more as a way for men to fulfill their fantasies.

“We try to focus on the fact that since we have this service, for men who have these dark, violent fantasies, instead of putting out the urge to act aggressively, they can do something like this which is safe for everyone.”

The dolls last about six months, Lee said, and customers can do whatever they want with them within reason, and nothing disturbing or violent.

Aura Dolls said it has had requests from women for male dolls and is looking to add them to their roster.

The company is incorporated and has a business license with the City of Toronto, and the owners of the companies researched the rules and regulations around owning a business of this kind and found it was completely legal.

“We found that the only rule on anything that relates to what we do is that we can’t have dolls that look under-age, they can’t resemble someone’s age, they can’t be under a specific height limit,” she said. “Besides that, there’s no restrictions.”

The City of Toronto told CityNews it does license adult entertainment businesses, such as body rub parlours and adult entertainment clubs, but not sex work or brothels.

“If a new business sets up shop in Toronto and there is an identified need for municipal regulation, then we will respond as appropriate,” said Tracey Cook, executive director of Municipal Licensing and Standards.

Sex work advocates say a business like this can alter the landscape of the sex industry and spark debate about the laws they have been working to change.

“I think it’ll open up a bigger conversation hopefully around the decriminalization of sex work and the importance around how decriminalization will allow sex workers to work in safety, to have rights, and to validate that it’s a form of work,” said advocate Monica Forrester.

“With the brothel thing, I think it’ll open up more dialogue hopefully, and have sex workers included in that in how they can be a part of changing some of that stigma.”

Forrester said she hopes the Trudeau government will sit down with advocates and sex workers to have a conversation about the laws pertaining to the industry.

Hard to believe that this is happening but it is. It is the result of a unfair sexual market place that favors women - hard to say if this will catch on. If it does TO women will start to finally get some competition.

The birth control pill dramatically shifted favor to women in the 60s until they took control of the sexual market place -- it has been about 50 years now.

I'm actually starting to see why the radical control feminist set is so fervently against things like sex dolls and sex bots. I wouldn't doubt if this is a successful business. We already know that the sale of sex dolls is profitable enough to create an industry with several competing companies.

Consider this. When I was researching sex workers who specifically dealt with client side sex (read: escorts, but many were also porn stars), there was a consistent apprehension about the long-term viability of the whoring market. Prices were way down and this was a number of years ago.

You could undoubtedly buy yourself an hour with a recognizable pornstar for less than the $960 mentioned in the article. But, men will go the sex doll and sex bot route instead. Again, we have already seen this. Men buying $ 10,000 stationary sex dolls. How many soft prostitution arrangements could you get for that amount of money (and, from college age girls for that matter). But, again, the men go for the artificial.

I'm no MGTOW and, to be honest, I have reason (and research) to disagree with some of the more negative prognosticating within the larger Red Pill community. However, I do think that there is a coming seismic shift in the marriage market. Small (sometimes very small) disruptions in the demographic numbers can cause huge changes. Imagine, for example, if I waved a magic wand and removed 5% of single males from the planet (or the US, if you like). There would be nothing special about these men other than they would be young(ish), single, and otherwise chosen at random (so we are not getting the bottom 5% of men). Paced forward a decade or two, this would cause a cascade of negative effects in the marriage market. Those effects would, obviously, primarily be borne by women. This is akin to the stuff predicted in The Misandry Bubble, what, ten years ago?

Incels (and various other "cels") and MGTOW and other related groups exist. At least some of those men are going to remain in their fold permanently and things like this facilitate that entropy. As has been pointed out by members of this forum and callers on Roosh's Sunday Fireside Chats, there are, at least, some men who eschew women who fit in to the conventionally attractive category. This is just one of many signs of things to come. And, it is a small sign at that. But, I predict that we may see (perhaps in several decades) a collapse and reconfiguring of the marriage market so extreme that the outcome no longer resembles what we now consider "marriage".

I think the rising popularity of sex dolls has less to do with incels per se and more to do with the growing number of mentally- and psychologically-disabled adults, most of whom are men.

Anyone who has followed the news since the 1990s knows about the growing rate of autism, which is now estimated to occur in 1 out of every 45 children born, according to Autism Speaks. Spectrum News, meanwhile, claims autistic males out number females by a 4-to-1 ratio.

What happens to these boys when they grow up? And what happens to all the boys who have other emotional issues? I mean the ones who were on the periphery of the mainstream in schools, but never quite fit in.

Toronto is the perfect market for this as it is the most dysfunctional sexual market place in North America. See I am an systems engineer by trade. I also spent 4 years in electrical engineering before I changed my major. My mindset even when blue pilled was break-fix/problem-solve. That's how I do my job. That's how I have always fed myself. That's how I run my life.

Some of you guys are having massive Analysis Paralysis issues in this area.
