(05-01-2015 02:57 PM)VolandoVengoVolandoVoy Wrote:  I don't think that's the most likely explanation. I think it is very likely that both Mayweather and Pacquiao have been on a variety of PEDs during most of their careers.

Nearly every other major athlete, including the vast majority of Olympians use PEDs, and they don't earn a fraction of what these two can.

Both Mayweather and Pacquiao have much better resources than Olympians or top guys like Lance Armstrong, and if those people can beat even the most stringent drug testing with ease, what makes you think that Pac and Mayweather wouldn't be able to?

So, I find it hard to believe that the fight didn't happen because Pacquiao feared a positive drug test. It had to have been about money.

It really was about drug testing man. Boxing is a wild west of sorts. Testing had always been a joke. Your argument seems logical except when you bring up the fact that this has been written about countless times, Freddie himself blames Manny, and the split, of all things, was 50-50 for that first iteration of negotiations. You're gonna go against what his own trainer says? Floyd had no problem with 50-50, neither did Manny. Everything was set to go but the drug testing. You don't have to trust Wikipedia but it's everywhere else.

And especially this video,

Freddie Roach Wrote:At the beginning I do say we were at fault because Manny was deathly afraid of needles.

Later rounds did fail because of money. Mayweather offered a flat fee of $40 million to Pacquiao at one point, which is absolutely insane considering Pacquiao stands to make over $120 million now. That was a slap in the face and Pac rightfully said no.

But the first round was all Pac and his 'fear of needles.'

Pacquiao really is a 'better person' overall than Mayweather, but the media has really hyped up this angle to the point where no blame goes on Manny, and that's not totally accurate. He really was afraid of random drug testing, for whatever reason, and that 10-day window was why it didn't happen. Manny refusing drug testing is the main reason we didn't get the modern-day version of Leonard-Durán or Leonard-Pryor.

Going out to DC tomorrow to watch this fight. Ready to get drunk and get my money's worth. Really hope Pac can pull off an upset.

Reporter: What keeps you awake at night?
General James "Mad Dog" Mattis: Nothing, I keep other people awake at night.

So the fight broadcast starts at 9 PM EST tomorrow.

What time usually does the actual fight begin?

If it's anything at all like UFC, the fight would happen at midnight. Though I don't watch boxing frequently so I'm not too familiar with how the setup works.

I hope I can watch the full NBA game before the fight.

The undercard isn't very impressive for such a big fight.

There should be a live stream up somewhere on the net for tomorrow's fight. If I come across one I'll post it here.

I think those will be getting swatted down like flies. If you aren't going to a watch party, the better move would be to go to sleep, turn off your phone/avoid all news, open your computer directly to a torrenting site when you wake up, download the fight in HD, and watch it without checking your email or looking at any news.
I was thinking of going to a watch party at a casino, but I may do this instead.

Floyd has more Game, 'applied charisma'. There's a lot to learn from watching his interviews. Body language, gift of the gab, irrational self confidence, fashion sense and general alphaness.

Don't debate me.

Wow. Though I wouldn't be surprised. Seems to be the norm with professional athletes unfortunately.

That's obviously the wrong way to do it.

Though some are more intelligent about it:

Didn't know about the ring, but hey, even alphas get cheated on sometimes.

Yeah, it's a crazy business we're in. Some women cheat no matter what, because they are addicted to new cock and get bored easy. Some women cheat because they are with an alpha who goes out and fucks every woman he can, and they eventually get sick of that shit and decide to cheat too (probably what happened to Mayweather). And some women cheat simply because someone with a higher SMV comes along.

RE: POLL: Mayweather vs Pacquiao - Who Will Win?
I read somewhere that Mayweather will be getting 180 million for this fight and Pacquiao about 120 million. Don't know if it's win or lose but those numbers are astonishing. Imagine earning 180 mil in perhaps a few minutes or at max half an hour.

If Pacquiao wins (which i'll be rooting for) he should donate half to some poverty charity fund back in the Phils and run for president right after. He'll surely win. What a way to retire.

It's not like Mayweather or Pacquiao responded to a craigslist help wanted ad for a gig. They aren't getting paid for 30 minutes of labor. They are earning what they are after a lifetime of training and achievement, thousands and thousands of hours of practice, carefully honing their craft to become world class, and also making competent business decisions to get the lion's share of the revenue.

To say Mayweather is making 180 Million for 30 min of work, is sort of like saying an early employee of a startup who exercises and sells his stock options is making ten million in ten minutes because that's the time it takes to execute the trade. In a way, it's technically true, but it doesn't reflect the situation well.

Also, don't read the torrent comments, especially on Kick Ass Torrents. It seems like some people delight in being bastards and ruining the plots of movies and TV shows, I can assume this will be no different.

Do top-flight boxing matches have a lot of pregame bullshit? I'm asking because it's listed on my Jakarta "fight" channel at 6AM (UTC+7, 7PM ET). If there's an hour of hype, I'd prefer to sleep through that.

They are also paying for giving up the last 40 years of their life. Every go to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, NY? And see 50 year -old men stumbling around with walkers and those dark shades that sight-impaired people wear? Did you think that was a coincidence? They didn't all develop progeria. The toll from taking all those punches in the head manifests itself in their late 40s/early 50s. Look at Freddie Roach now compared to 7 years ago. Boxers give up the majority of their lives to dementia; I'm surprised anyone is still willing to do it.

Major Boxing events like this start later than UFC usually. But a little after Midnight is probably on par for the start time for the East. They are going to want to hold this fight back to get last min drunk orders in at $100 a pop.

The biggest issue isn't finding a stream but finding one that can handle the traffic. I think the usual stream sites are going to have an issue with the demand assuming they even are up because I know HBO has an order to shut down some sites just this weekend.

If you want to find streams one way is to use twitter advance search. Type in some keywords like "Mayweather stream" or "fight stream" then you can peak in on people asking for links and seeing if anyone sends them a good one.

Rooting for Pacman, but assuming mayweather is gonna pull it out.

If pacman somehow finds a way to pull it off, he should retire right afterwords with a big fuck you to floyd. Floyd would never get over losing this fight without a rematch.

And I agree with the other poster, if manny pulls this off, he needs to run for president in the PI.

Nah. I have a better idea. Give him the rematch, but insist that Manny gets 60% and Floyd gets 40%. Also put some other random conditions.

Getting less money and control would really fuck with Mayweather.

Manny will have to wait for the 2022 Phillipine presidential election. There is one in 2016, but to run for Vice President or President you have to be at least 40 years old.

Manny needs the money more than Floyd. Thats why this fight is even happening. Manny owes backtaxes. Floyd would get 50% easy on a rematch and if he didn't the rematch would never take place leaving Manny a less rich man.

Over the past three days, I've only seen the odds range from -180 to -210 for Mayweather. As of an hour ago, the odds were -210, so as expected, the late money seems to be on Mayweather. I bet at -185 yesterday, because I thought the odds would get much worse today.
