So, I decided to keep it simple. Who do you think will win? Discuss why, what round, and whether it will be ko, tko, unanimous decision, or split decision in the comments.

I don't know that much about boxing, but my guess is that Pacquiao will win. He seems hungrier, and has had tougher fights recently. Mayweather seems arrogant and overconfident.

Bound to be Mayweather via decision.

Most likely going to be a boring fight.

Incidentally I read today that only 1000 tickets were being offered for general sale at $60,000 each??

Have they even signed the contracts yet?

I think the fight would be a lot more exciting if they split the purse 70% winner, 30% loser, but with the caveat that if the fight goes the distance and is a decision instead of a ko or tko, half the purse goes to charity and the remaining half is then split 70-30.

Floyd is the better boxer, but Pacquiao is known for throwing 100 punches per round also. I expect Floyd to get hit more than he ever has in his career.

Mayweather close split decision, too many accurate counter-shots

Strong first 4-5 rounds for Pacman, look for his activity rate to be high but not 100 punches a round

Floyd will try to keep the fight in the middle of the ring and box, Manny wants a herky-jerky fast paced melee

I can see a knockdown or two, Pac has power in both hands and is a crafty lefty but Mayweather is stronger than people think

The real fight breaks out when Manny tries to assert his will, and Mayweather "pushes back"

With the cash they're going to rake in they're both going to win. Mayweather split-decision with a rematch unless he retires right after which he probably will.

Maybe Pacquiao has been giving the illusion that he's falling off so Mayweather would take the bait and finally accept the fight.

In 2009 this would have been the fight and it would have been hard to see a way for Mayweather to lose then. Now? It's been a while since either has had a real challenging fight. I'm very tempted to bet Pacquiao here. This fight might as well be a coinflip.

Floyd is a master of the game.

With that being said, Floyd is the justified favorite in this bout but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Manny somehow pulls it off. In all honesty, if you truly like or love boxing (or fighting in general) you will know that Mayweather is far from a boring fighter. It may seem that way to casuals but he's a technician of the sport. His timing, movement, and precision is by far the best in the game. I remember a lot of people booing the bout he had with Canelo but that was the art of boxing at its finest.

Hasn't he lost his last 3 fights or something like that. You wouldn't do that to your record just to play with floyd.

I don't think so. If the fight is a close unanimous decision, split decision in Mayweather's favor or a victory for Pacquiao that will lead to a rematch.

If I recall correctly the rematch would be Mayweather's final fight for the contract he signed with Showtime. I would expect Mayweather to retire after that unless he loses the rematch(I think a rematch will happen).

Agreed. Anything other than a one-sided Mayweather win will lead to a rematch in September. I think it will be competitive, with Mayweather winning a fair decision on the scorecards. With these judges, I really don't see anyone getting robbed.

As I've said before, there are two ways to beat Mayweather. One way is to be a huge puncher like Golovkin. The other way is to throw 1,000 or even 900 punches in a fight. Look at Pacquiao's punch output over his last five or so fights. He is throwing 500-some, 600-some, or 700-some punches per fight. That will make it competitive, but not get him a win on the scorecards against the best defensive boxer ever. I still don't understand what people are talking about when they see Pacquiao will knock him out.

Not true. I have the chance right now to buy two nosebleed tickets plus some dinner and pre-fight party for under $8,000. No way in hell.

Edit: I think each ticket was for $8,000. That makes the whole thing twice as bad.

Completely agree with you here. Mayweather will make him work and defend like a champion like he always does. The only way I see a knockout from Pacquiao is if Mayweather walks to the corner, puts his arms down, shuts his eyes and does nothing to defend. I'm calling split Mayweather all the way.

That is a problem in fightsports; everything's going great and your age isn't causing you any major problems...then wham, you hit the wall in the middle of a fight and your career is unexpectedly over.

Whatever happens, I don't ever want to see a legendary boxer do a RJJ again.

I can imagine an upset with Pacquiao winning but my money is on Mayweather. The dude is too slick, I don't even think I've seen him hurt in a fight.

There was one fight where he was knocked down, but it was barely noticeable because his glove touched the canvas momentarily.

Can't stand the guy personally, but he's going to win.
