Quote:NEWTONVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Some local students gathered in Newtonville on Tuesday to protest a billboard featuring a kitchen they claim to be sexist.
The billboard was posted by Teakwood Builders Inc. It features a kitchen with the text “Your wife wants me” printed on the sign. The billboard is located between Siena College and Newton Plaza on Route 9.
Some Siena students found the billboard to be sexist and offensive, so they gathered under the billboard in protest on Tuesday afternoon.
They held signs that read ‘I prefer an office,’ ‘Men can make their own sandwiches,’ ‘Women left the kitchen decades ago,’ and ‘I can buy my own kitchen.’

Imagine, if you will, this assortment of chubsters, butterfaces and androgynes spending hours preparing this protest. Chattering excitedly as they paint their signs, swap slogans and imagine the social justice glory that awaits them. Today, they tell themselves, we're going to make a difference, to, like, equality and stuff. And more importantly, there'll be cameras, so everyone can see how much we care, about, like, oppressed people.
Quote:Siena student Delaney Rivers said in an e-mail “[The billboard] implies that men are the primary financial supporters of women and that women are materialistic and portrayed as having no other value outside of the kitchen. This is especially egregious towards students at our institution as many of us are working towards financial independence in hopes to have successful careers and equality in our relationships.”

Yeah, they were probably feeling pretty good about themselves. Not that that's important! No no, it was more important that they drew attention to the issue. Which was, er...well it was something to do with the patriarchy.
Now all they have to do is sit back, and wait for the kitchen company to come apologising.
Quote:NEWS10 ABC reached out to Teakwood Builders for a statement on the students’ protest.
They sent the following response:
“Thank you for the message regarding the report on our billboard in Newtonville. A vast majority of Teakwood’s clients are women. Frequently they are the decision makers about major expenditures. This billboard – and the entire “Your wife wants me” campaign is good-natured, tongue in cheek fun meant to appeal to women who have a sense of humor, a sense of history and healthy self-esteem.
We applaud the students involved in the protest for their excitement about their cause.
And we thank them for drawing attention to the gorgeous Teakwood kitchen on the billboard.”
Now imagine their faces falling as they realise all they achieved was getting a little fresh air and wasting some perfectly good paint.
Talk about maintaining glorious teakwood frame. Whoever is in charge of their advertising needs a raise. Game recognised.
Go the fuck home, ladies. Shout out to that one guy who was with them; I hope you at least got some pussy, you fucking Judas.
Siena student Delaney Rivers said in an e-mail “[The billboard] implies that men are the primary financial supporters of women."
They are.
"...and that women are materialistic
They are.
"...and portrayed as having no other value outside of the kitchen."
No, they can also be useful vacuuming the living room floor, in the laundry room, cleaning the bathroom, and especially useful in the bedroom.
"This is especially egregious towards students at our institution as many of us are working towards financial independence in hopes to have successful careers and equality in our relationships.”
Riiiight! They find some CHUMP with real successful careers and practical skills to support them when they find out their sociology, womens' studies, or other liberal arts education is as useless as a wet match.

I just saw a TV commercial for Auto Zone that made a man look like a complete and utter retard while the "all-knowing female associate" helped this dork with his car battery. The dork then goes on to fantasize his Camry is a Formula 1 racer. However, I don't see hundreds of guys outside the auto parts store protesting this ad as we've got infinitely better things to do.
Like paying for our wives' totally unnecessary kitchen re-do.
"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.
Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector."

I think we've passed Peak Outrage. I've noticed that even my Terminally-Progressive friends on Facebook are weary of this kind of thing and are starting to mock it without mercy.
SJW's are so socially-awkward they have no idea just how unlikeable they are to normal people.
I have a facebook friend who constantly posts extremist socialist/feminist rhetoric, who recently complained about the ridiculous censorship enforced by SJWs (didn't use that term unfortunately).
I don't know if this is indicative of a turn in public opinion. I think it's more that no one ever liked SJWs and we've been overestimating their influence.
